The union of body, mind, and spirit

Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word Yuj which means to unite or to join. People generally think that yoga is a series of exercises with twisted body poses, it is not so. The main aim of yoga is to help one connect with ones inner spirit, which is connected to the universal spirit or God. Yoga creates a balance between the body and the mind and to attain self-enlightenment.

"I had a really great experience here.  It’s a very upbeat hatha yoga environment and the focus seems to be more on feeling great and advancing your practice, rather than burning x number of calories and getting skinny, as in with some other yoga schools. The teacher who taught our class, yogi sachin, was great.  I really appreciated how he not only explained how to do the postures, but also what the physical internal benefits of the postures are. I too found it to be extremely clean and focused on yoga. I will definitely be back to Shiva Tattva Yoga School. Thank you.."

"“I practice one-month TTC program at Shiva Tattva Yoga, Rishikesh and the 200 hour YTTC course was more useful for acquiring new teacher skills and expertise. Besides the intensive practice of asanas, kriyas and pranayama, I really liked the theoretical and philosophical understanding of the ancient yoga science that the course provides. The meditation practices were also extremely helpful in expanding and raising the consciousness. Was a magnificent time with you Sachin and other yoga teachers at the course and will always remember your teachings. Thank you"

I had many breakthrough in my asana abilities. The teachers have all been very dedicated, kind and knowledgeable.I was practicing some basic Asana postures and wanted to learn more. Just seeing the way Davendra and Rajesh do the postures, was assured that we were at the right place. " I'm very happy I did the course and I really enjoyed it. The yoga classes were super and just what I wantend. I was a little bit less interested in the theory classes but that was just me. The hotel was good for local standards but not really to western standards. I still enjoyed it and took it as a part of the experience. The food in the hotel was good but could use a little more variation. Overall a good experience and I'm very happy I did it.I went to this yoga retreat in July 2014."
