During this retreat, you will stay at Earthrise Retreat Center. You can stay either in a single or shared room. The single rooms are equipped with queen beds, while the shared rooms come complete with twin beds. All the rooms will share dorm-style bathrooms. Each floor has two to three bathrooms and there is a communal kitchenette with water and tea available at all times. You may use the fridge to store personal snacks. Scheduled meals are served at the community center in a separate building.

Program

Each morning begins with meditation and mindful Vinyasa yoga, led by an experienced teacher. You will also learn to create and use a mala during your evening workshop event, with all the supplies provided. Malas are used for keeping count while repeating a mantra during meditation, so you can deepen your meditation practice.

Christie Pitko, E RYT-500 began practicing yoga in 2001, and since then, it has healed her spirit and ignited creativity. She teaches an alignment-based vinyasa flow, and enjoys helping students stay curious about the inner landscape of their bodies and minds. Christie received her 200-hour teaching certificate in 2011 from White Lotus Foundation, and 300-hour advanced training in 2015 at Barefoot Movement. She continues her studies with Annie Carpenter and SmartFLOW yoga. She enjoys hosting yoga retreats in California and abroad, and is passionate about the power of daily meditation.

Driving directions from Sonoma County

  • Travel south on US 101.
  • Take the “San Antonio Road / Silveira Ranch Road” Exit 467.
  • Turn right onto San Antonio Road at the stop sign, at the top of the exit ramp.
  • Follow the San Antonio Frontage Road for approximately 1.5 miles.
  • Turn left at the “EarthRise / Institute of Noetic Sciences” sign.
  • After turning onto the property, drive half a mile on the flat road (Burdell Drive).
  • Follow the road left and drive another half mile up the hill.
  • There are signs at the bottom of the hill pointing left to “EarthRise Retreat Center”.
  • At the top of the hill, look for the check-in signs.
  • Park to the right.

Driving directions from San Francisco or San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

  • Travel north on 101 and take the San Antonio / Silveira Ranch Road Exit.
  • From this exit, turn left and continue on to the San Antonio Frontage Road for approximately 2 miles.
  • Turn left at the “EarthRise Center / Institute of Noetic Sciences” sign.
  • After turning onto the property, drive half a mile on the flat road (Burdell Drive).
  • Follow the road left and drive another half mile up the hill.

  • Park to the right.

Driving directions from the East Bay / Oakland International Airport (OAK)

  • Take the highway I-580 W / I-80 E.
  • Cross the Richmond Bridge.
  • Note that this route has tolls.
  • Merge onto US-101 N.
  • Once you hit Highway 101 north, you'll be joining northbound traffic from San Francisco.
  • Please see the northbound directions above for the final part of your journey.
