"7 Tage Kurztrip"

"Authentic yogahaus"

Hari was an excellent teacher and host, calm and kind and wise. He helped out with any small problems, nothing was beneath his notice. His pranayama and meditation classes and the asana classes were all really useful. They follow the same general routine, though with some variations day to day, but this is the traditional way and it worked for me. We were also taught by Shiva, who was also excellent, but I understand he has moved on now.

Rooms were a good size and exceptionally clean, with bed, mosquito net, desk and wardrobe, and a fan.

Breakfast was porridge and as much fruit as you could eat. Lunch was rice with a mix of Indian thali, fresh and full of lots of nutrients, all made by a wonderful cook who works there. All very healthy and not too heavy, good for a retreat.

The place is located near North Cliff, which is the best part of Varkala, with some good restaurants. If you want to do yoga in Varkala, this is the place for a calm, authentic retreat with a good bunch of people. This is definitely not Lululemon territory!

"A wonderful yoga retreat in the heart of Kerala."

I recently spent a week at Sharanagati Yogahaus. My main intention was to re-engage my passion for yoga practice. It was a nicely structured retreat with a balance of asana practice, meditation and pranayama in a beautifully green and serene location. Both Hari and Harun guide you through these practices with years of expertise and healthy encouragement. Beginners and the more experienced yogi felt comfortable and suitably challenged. I not only re-engaged with my practice but came away feeling more accomplished and developed as well as more confident.

During down time there is the vibrant black beach just 5 minutes away. The cliff, boasting amazing views – especially at sundown – an abundance of handmade craft stores, as well as many restaurants serving local food, is just 7-8 minutes walk from the yogahaus.

"Wind down from everyday life"

I had a wonderful time at Sharanagati Yogahaus. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the house and garden beautiful, the communication and organization was impeccable, the local staff was very nice, the food nourishing, healthy and delicious, the company great. Hari is a wonderful host and always tries to meet the guests needs and wishes. The yoga classes were good for all levels, and for me it was a nice excursion to practice the Sivananda series, as I am usually practicing hatha or vinyasa yoga. It was challenging in a good way. Highly recommended!

Thank you ❤️

"A vacation for the body and mind"

Hari's philosophy of simplicity and repetition in order to settle the mind was exactly what me and my partner were looking for. After the first day or two, both the yoga and meditation became like second nature - a much needed routine after our 3 months of India travel. Hari's down to earth, non-pretentious approach was perfect for us. After each yoga session he would share his personal experiences with us, teaching a practical yoga/meditation practice that we could apply to our 'normal' lives. As two foodies, we cannot overlook the quality of the food served at Sharanagati Yogahaus - it was delicious, freshly prepared and vibrant south Indian food.

"Moyen"

"Incredible stay at sharanagati yogahaus"

The yogahaus had a calm and relaxed atmosphere and the twice daily classes were very enjoyable. The yoga style was a good combination of activity and stretching poses and repeating the same sequence of moves in each class made it easier to follow and to track your improvement. The accommodation was comfortable less than 5 minutes walk to an incredible beach. The food was a real highlight too.

"Entspannung pur"

"Shared yoga experience"

The yoga retreat was a perfect way for my daughter and I to spend a precious week together before she continued her travels. It became so much more than I anticipated as we shared evening sunset swims and evening meals out with the people at the retreat. The food was delicious with at least six different fruits with porridge and chai for breakfast and several vegetarian dishes with rice for lunch. Our instructor Harry was always available throughout the day, his warm personality and yoga routine maintained our interest and provided us with sufficient challenge for our physical and mental wellbeing with a touch of fun. We were very happy here and whole heartily recommend it.

"Seaside yogahaus where Inner pace became mantra"

Hari is very passionate about yoga and people entering his backyard. He loves India with all his heart and aims for great experiences. The location is very closed to the beach and in between yoga practice you can enjoy the salty sea and the spicy authentic Kerala food.

"A magic place for a yoga retreat!"

Hari is a very welcoming host! We feel good in this magical and green place. It’s really beautiful and calm. Hari is also a good guide for meditation. I really appreciate that! Sivananda yoga is a type of yoga that I did not know before that retreat. I enjoyed discovering it. The sequence is complete and refreshing. The food cooked by Shiva is excellent! The places around the yogahouse is really great very. Wonderful beaches! I recommend this place for sure!

"Sharanagati was a total joy, a beautiful time and experience"

Sharanagati Yogahaus run by Hari was one of the best experiences l have had in my life, a beautiful time with beautiful people. Hari who runs Sharanagati is a great guy, supportive and committed, and has created a lovely good and gentle warm vibe at Sharanagati which filtered through and added to my experience. The accommodation was super nice, a new building, so well looked after, gorgeous setting. The food, cooked by a lovely local lady called Sheba was the best l had for my entire trip to Kerala, so healthy, fresh and good. Sharanagati is also just 5mins walk from a beautiful beach, was swimming there every evening at sunset. I consider myself very lucky to have booked my yoga retreat with Hari, stayed for eight days. It was a blessing, arrived at Sharanagati a burnt out over worked man, left a reborn man with a light step, super healthy, with tonnes of energy and a warm smile on my face. This has to be the best yoga spot and place to stay in Verkala, highly recommend! Thank you Hari for creating this wonderful place and experience.

The accommodation was lovely, very modern and clean, I had my own balcony! The food was home cooked and incredible, varried everyday. The yogahaus is also very sociable, it was like a little family, everyone was so friendly and welcoming which was good for me as a solo traveller. Yoga was very relaxing, just what I needed.

"Best mind a yoga training I have ever had"

I enjoyed the simple way of doing yoga based on very original form. The mind training is very important and the Haris teaching gave me an excelent instruction for this. Hari does It with fun and deep understanding.

"Perfect place.."

Hari has created an oasis in Varkala. Hari himself is a wonderful man and the atmosphere is one of somewhere between a very relaxed ashram and a blissful retreat. Everyone finds it difficult to leave!

"where time stands still"

The sense of calmness in the mornings after the pranayam and meditation, the sense of accomplishment after a 2 hour shivananda yoga session, the tranquility of the afternoons with bumble bee hummings, birds chirping, crows crowing and zephyr like breeze cooling the heated body while on with our early evening session. The sense of camaraderie during our evenings out, atop the cliff, the swim in the ocean and the massages. bliss.

"A great place"

I particularly liked the mixed programme of yoga and Hari gave a good introduction to practising meditation. Also, Sheba is an excellent cook and the food was always delicious. The grounds are beautiful and quite tropical.
