Learn the depths of classical Tantra yoga in a traditional ashram setting. At the ashram, you will be taught to promote experiential learning, and while you will receive comprehensive teaching in the theoretical and philosophical aspects of yoga, you will feel that it is imperative for you to experience yoga in order to teach and take your own practice to the next level. Yoga is much more than asana - it is a lifestyle, and at Shanti Yoga Ashram they want you to prepare students who can live yoga, not just do yoga.
For this retreat, you will be provided with 29 nights of accommodation in Shanti Yoga Ashram. You will be provided with ashram environment in a homestay setting, surrounded by the splendor of nature. This affords a cozy environment conducive to spiritual practice where those who stay at the ashram can get a taste of authentic yogic lifestyle along with traditional Nepalese culture.
The ashram provides a few private rooms and shared dorm room facilities, availability is based on current occupancy. You can stay in the guesthouse, bamboo house or in one of the huts. Water for bathing is powered by solar. Electrical outages are part of life in Nepal, however, it is easy to adapt since they have solar energy for heating water and gas or fire for cooking. They have lights that are battery powered not dependent on the coming and going of electricity.
The daily activities of this yoga teacher training provide a balanced mix of all the aspects a great yogi embodies: disciplined daily practice, knowledge, devotion, action or work, healthy food, rest, nature, service, and community. Shanti Yoga is confident that the experience will not only prepare you to teach yoga but give you all the tools you need to maintain a harmonious balance in your daily life.
You will begin with the first step in Hatha Yoga called Shatkarma - internal yogic cleansing to prepare your bodies and minds for the yoga practice to follow, so that when prana shakti starts to flow it will be moving through clear open channels.
