During the festival program in Kathmandu, one will stay in Shanti Yoga Ashram's traditional ashram setting, in which they provide everyone of a private space. During the pilgrimage, Shanti Yoga Ashram provides 3-star hotels in which the rooms are shared.

Program

The festival starts in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, where one will celebrate Shivaratri at Shanti Yoga Ashram, located at the foothills of the Himalayas. One will witness Havana (fire ceremony) and merge with the yogic and nepali culture with kirtan and traditional dance. You will visit Pashupathinath temple, the most powerful and important Shiva temple.

Your pilgrimage will then bring you to Pokhara, which not only offers the holy sites of the Peace Pagoda and the Barahi Durga Temple, but breathtaking views of the Annapurna range and Lake Phewa. It is an ideal place for yoga and meditation surrounded by nature’s beauty.

You will visit Damauli, where the Vedas and Bagavad Gita were composed, and continue your journey to Chitwan, to spent the night and enjoy the beauty of nature.

You will move on to Bandipur, where you will practice Yoga Sadhana with view over the Himalayan range, and continue your journey to Devghat, the sacred convergence of two rivers, the place where Sita, Rama and Laskshman departed from this world and you will visit their ashram.

Fully charged with spiritual energy, you head back to Kathmandu to spend the night in the traditional ashram setting and end the festival with a closing ceremony.

  • Day 3: Visit + sadhana in Bhaktapur
  • Day 4: Visit + sadhana in Pashupathinath
  • Day 5: Drive to Pokhara and temple visit
  • Day 6: Activities in Pokhara – Morning yoga at temple – visiting pagoda - Shiva statue
  • Day 7: Activity Pokhara
  • Day 8: Drive to Damauli, visit Ved Vyas cave, bath in Ganga.
  • Day 9: Morning yoga in Damauli, drive to Gorkha
  • Day 10: Morning yoga in Gorkha, drive to Chitwan
  • Day 11: Devghat visit, return back to Kathmandu
  • Day 12: Closing Ceremony at Shanti Yoga Ashramre
