    You will stay at Shanti-Som Wellbeing Retreat hotel. The hotel consists of 14 luxurious rooms and known as one of the most beautiful boutique hotel in Marbella. Their hotel design is based on the philosophy of East meets West. Thus, all of their 14 rooms have been individually designed with a great attention to details. Rooms are available either shared double room or private room.

    The pilates method offered at Shanti-Som, is based on fluid movements performed with control, which is essential for the use of breathing. The method aims to strengthen, improve body flexibility, increase the range of motion and teach you the proper breathing method.

    It is accessible to everyone and divided into different level, suitable for everyone needs. This retreat suitable for people that experiencing physical problems such as back and neck problem. Pilates combined with yoga movement will correct the incorrect postural habits and improves body alignment. It will improve coordination of movements and sense of balance. The muscle flexibility, mobility and agility will be increased and strengthened.

    It teaches body awareness through a workout and helps to prevent injuries. Each exercise is ideal to relieve most back pains, to strengthen the lumbo-abdominal area, to gain psychological well-being, to reduce anxiety, depression and insomnia. It also strengthens the pelvic area, reduce digestive discomfort and constipation, and strengthen the muscles of the legs and body. It will also help you to maintain weight.

      Nathalie was born and raised in Amsterdam. In 2008 she moved to Spain with her family where they live a remote idyllic spiritual life. She originally has followed a 3 year course in Transformational yoga at yoga centre; Sai Mithra, in the centre of Amsterdam. Transformative yoga is a unique combination of Hatha yoga postures, consciousness of the chakras (energy centre), meditation and relaxation. She has studied the more detailed approach to yoga as developed by D.K.S. Iyengar and learned to teach in the more invigorative yoga styles Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga which will give a total workout.

      Lyma’s first introduction to yoga was in 1999, and for the past 13 years she has been interested in Hatha, Asthanga, Vinyasa flow, Anusara yoga and Zen meditation.She successfully completed the Teacher Training program through The Integral Yoga Academy, and is registered with the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) of The Integral Yoga Academy in Yogaville, Virginia, USA. Her love for teaching gives her the gift to create a space where students feel empowered to safely explore the gifts their yoga practise can offer, both on and off the mat, as well as honouring the individuali

      Javier is the Personal Trainer of Hotel Shanti-Som Wellbeing Retreat. In 2001, he has finished his training in physical education, have acquired knowledge of expression, body, acrobatics, aerobics instructor and anthropology among others, which has developed ever since. In 2014 Javier graduated as a Pilates instructor. He uses mat and machines as reformer, cadillac, chair wunda, spinal correction and other accessories in his techniques that will helps a lot in rehabilitation.

      "I stayed here on the 6 night detox retreat and I can't rate it highly enough. I was made to feel welcome throughout the stay and Shanti Som is really geared up for single travellers. The staff without exception were superb and nothing was ever too much trouble. Nathalie our yoga teacher was also outstanding. The rooms were beautiful - I stayed on the mountain side which had the sun from the morning until late afternoon (the other side gets the sun from the afternoon onward). I was worried about some reviews saying the rooms were noisy - it didn't bother me at all and I'm a very light sleeper but maybe I was lucky with considerate neighbours. The resort itself is immaculate with plenty of sunbeds and places to curl up with a book when the weather wasn't great. Spa treatments were also excellent. The gym is small but more than functional and looks onto a stunning garden. I wouldn't hesitate to return if I can get in, they get booked up quickly which I can fully understand!"

After 3 days full board, 2 yoga sessions a day, steam room, sauna, pool, healthy yet tasty food and a tranquil location in a lovely little unspoiled valley, the mind was relaxed and the batteries fully re-charged. Absolutlely what the Doctor ordered!! The hotel is small, clean, spacious and well-designed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I am definitely going back!"

This retreat is well hidden from the main road so all you can hear is mother nature at her best. The waterfall ornaments, buddhas, colors so bright, lovely colored umbrellas, it all adds up to the nice sphere."

      "I hit the jackpot with the Shanti Som Wellbeing and Yoga Retreat in Monda, Spain. This is a little gem of a retreat tucked away in the foothills of the Sierra Nieves mountains north of Marbella 10 minutes by car yet a world away. It's an exceptionally well run place by any standards but even more so for a retreat and spa with only 14 rooms.The resort has a Balinese feel. It's calming, understated yet substantial at the same time. The management has luxury hotel experience which is evident in the level of hospitality and attention to detail. They are truly there to make sure your stay is as good as can be. I was looking for a well run, knowledgeable and clean place...clean and comfortable. On all fronts I was more than pleased.For my part I undertook a six day juice detox post holidays to get back in shape and get my body back on track. In addition to daily juices that were fresh and satisfying, I took a yoga class each morning and tried a number of different massage treatments.The staff leading the juicing is clearly knowledgeable on food, nutrition and the whole idea of cleansing. For those who are exploring juice fasting, this place is terrific. The yoga teacher I had was patient and seemed to manage the varying levels of yoga in her class. And the massage treatments were quite good, as well.I want to add one thing about the other guests. From six different countries yet a congenial group that was both respectful yet friendly. For solo travelers, there is a communal dining table for regular guests. Those on juices "drink" together each day until the fast is broken then one can join the others in the dining room.It was a wonderful week and I am very grateful for the entire crew for making this a transformative and unforgettable one."

      "Located in the mountains of Marbella in the middle of a forest, this is the best place for a relaxing, disconnected, detoxification, yoga getaway. It has only 12 rooms, and it gives you the feeling that you are at home. Lights out are at 9 pm.My plan was to stay 4 days, I checked out, but was back for more in a week. If you are looking for night life or shopping, you are only half an hour drive from the center of Marbella (Puerto Banus)."

      "I have tried all three retreats over the years, weight loss, yoga and detox and can recommend all of them, depending on your goal.Shanti Som is the perfect haven for a relaxing, re-charging, get away from it all holiday and I'm surprised by some of the other reviews. The whole team are wonderful and attentive, nothing is too much trouble and you'll feel at home in no time at all. The yoga teachers are of a high standard and practising in the wonderful outdoor yoga pavilion is bliss. There are some wonderful spa treatments on offer and the food is first class.I always feel incredible after a stay there and am always sad to have to leave and return to normality."

      "I have just returned from nine nights here and I have to congratulate the team at Shanti Som. I lost over 6 kilos in 9 days! The Food was amazing for a diet plan, the yoga I loved and have already booked more sessions on my return home. Mercedes, my personal trainer, well the only thing I can say is that she is "The Spanish Devil". But she got me back to exercising after a 20 years on nothingness. So, thank you! The resort itself offers excellent spa treatments too, and a chilled and relaxed vibe, and with WINE! Yes wine even on a diet! Small, friendly and beautifully formed. I will be going back, and so should you!"

      "One of the most relaxing experiences I've ever had. I was impressed with the standards of rooms and bathrooms. I was surprised to have this standard in Marbella besides the 2 well renowned hotels at the beach side. The food is excellent given even for the pickiest people. The yoga retreat is highly recommended. Lovely team, therapists & amazing yoga instructors. They all make you feel at home.One thing that can be improved is maybe having portable AC units in the bedrooms for those summer nights.I will definitely come back to this tucked serene haven."

The setting and hotel itself are stunning. It's the perfect place to escape the outside world. Three days there feel like a week's holiday."

      "My mum and I had a great 5 day-stay here at the beginning of September. I had read quite a lot of negative reviews but I can say I was pleasantly surprised. In terms the problems people have had a lot of this could have been solved by asking the staff. I was on the high intensity and weight loss program, but was able to alter this to suit me.The yoga teaching is very good with lots of guidance and the outdoor studio very relaxing, we had a cow and puppies visit during our practices. Mercedes is an excellent and very persuasive trainer, who got the best out of me in a relatively short time. We also did two hikes with her, these were not particularly interesting however they were designed to burn fat and that they did! If you are looking for something more leisurely and scenic I know they can provide this, it just a case of asking.I had a body scrub at the start of the week which was very nice and 2 full body massages with Paola which were wonderful, she really worked on my trouble areas and also gave me some guidance on my posture. My mum also had an interesting foot treatment that was quite emotional. Overall we enjoyed the treatments but I would advise getting this sorted early on and not be worried to change the times if they do not suit want you want to get out of your day.The food was very good, and we received lemons and kiwi to start our day which was nice, followed by a light cooked or buffet breakfast after either yoga or a hike. We had some fruit or nuts throughout the day and healthy but enjoyable lunches and dinner. The standard menu is lovely however if the aim is to lose weight it isnt that healthy. They are more than willing to accommodate any requirements however. We drank our weight in herbal and fresh mint tea but it was lovely that they had some alcohol so we could relax with a nice glass wine on the last night.As others have said the noise in the rooms can be bad and the variation of view/balcony can be an issue, but again speak to the hotel and they are very helpful. Forget about trying to get wifi in the room. Isnt a retreat about being away from the mayhem of technology?Overall I lost 5lbs and have since lost a little more, I felt relax and happy after my stay. A wonderful place to retreat to..enjoy."

A haven of tranquility and calm, the perfect antidote to the daily stresses and strains of life and I wouldn't hesitate to return at any given opportunity. Delicious food, beautiful surroundings, and fantastically helpful staff and a really great team of therapists from Mercedes, the personal Trainer, to Marisol the Nutritionist. Shanti som has created an environment which allows you to completely unwind from the minute you step through the door.
