Immersive Yoga Teacher Training Bali

When combining Yin yoga, meditation, and mindfulness with pranayama, Shanti Atma Yoga believes that nothing is impossible, internally or externally. Yin yoga holds the key to unlocking the full potential of holistic and comprehensive yoga practice, both on and off the mat. Yin yoga is an experience, not a class. It is a journey, not a style. This in-depth course will take you through the class, into the experience, using the style and transforming it into a journey of self-discovery, physically, energetically, emotionally, and mentally.

Program

Yin yoga is a powerful style of yoga that physically unravels the body's matrix of tension, mentally concentrates the mind, emotionally relaxes the body, and energetically stimulates the flow of Qi. There is far more to discover in Yin yoga and mindfulness than meets the eye. Space is a beautiful wonderland where human meets nature, nature meets heart and heart meets the soul. The intention within the venue is to be a place to practice Buddha-Dhamma through meditation, asana yoga, integration of all the elements, and community living. Underlying this intention is the view that every moment is an opportunity to practice.

  • Week 1: Yin yoga with pranayama and meditation
  • Week 2: Yin yoga with the pillars of mindfulness and a one-on-one consultation with the lead teachers

Morning nurturing practice

This is the main practice of the day. This Yin yoga will take you deep within yourself to see, feel, hear, love, and nurture things that are invisible, intangible, and inaudible to the mind on the surface layer. Within the safe space of the shala, you will have nothing but time and heartfelt support to come home to yourself.

Theory

This is the juicy bit of the course where you will have the opportunity to intricately break down the components of Yin yoga, pranayama, meditation, and mindfulness to reveal what it all means. In the first week, you break down Yin theory, principles, and practice; western and yogic anatomy of pranayama; meditation theory and practice. In the second week, you take a sound look at how Yin yoga, pranayama, and meditation link into the pillars of mindfulness. With the added depth of philosophy and personal journalling, you focus on helping you find your Dao, your way, path, and purpose.

Art of teaching

These classes are where you will break down what it means to teach Yin yoga. This is the ‘how to’ and the ‘why to’. You could call this the ‘behind the scenes’ of teaching. The art of teaching is a discussion-based class and active participation from students is welcome and encouraged. The workshops require small group work from students for experiential learning. This session is ultimately about you and how to build your teaching expertise with help from Shanti Atma Yoga. They help you find your voice, your method, and your alignment in teaching from your heart.

Evening empowering practice

Evening practice incorporates a multitude of inner practices that range from yang styles of yoga and movement to a meditation circle and spiritual practices.

There are two parts to the training:

Practicing

This course offers you the time to move into the parasympathetic nervous response with the beat of your own rhythm. Embodying your body-mind-breath connection throughout the course, you will feel revitalized and inspired. You will develop and deepen your Yin Yoga practice way beyond asana.

Teaching

On a teaching level, you will be empowered and confident. You will explore how the pillars of mindfulness, meditation, and pranayama can be seamlessly interwoven into an asana class, strongly enabling you to offer a more profound Yin yoga experience to your students.

How you will develop

  • A much higher ability to teach a wide approach to Yin yoga
  • Solid foundation to pranayama, meditation, and mindfulness
  • Powerful understanding of how these practices weave into Yin yoga
  • Cohesive and confident ability to construct Yin yoga workshops
  • Integrate pranayama, meditation, and mindfulness in your voice, from your heart
  • Much greater opportunity within your yoga path
  • Safe teaching
  • Confident teaching beyond the physical asana
