It is designed for people who are super excited and committed to the idea of taking their love of yoga and embarking on a journey from student to teacher.

This 30 days intensive yoga teacher training will place demands on your comfort zones, challenge your existing insecurities, and inspire incredible self-esteem and self-respect, both as a teacher and as an individual as well as transform your ability to feel connected to yourself and to others. You will be working together in a small team, so each session will be a powerful opportunity to get to better know yourself and those around you, supporting each other and helping each other grow and move forward as you make those steps of transitioning from student to teacher.

Be prepared to be honest with yourself, to give yourself to each moment that comes to you, and to be receptive to seeing things from a totally different perspective than where you started.

No formal experience is required to enroll in this yoga teacher training program. However, it is recommended that you have had at least one year of regular practice prior to the start of the course to help to get your started on your journey. A flexible body free of injuries is not a requirement for this training. Yoga is a practice of meeting the body where it is, and then working with the body to slowly and respectfully move deeper.

The struggles and challenges you will face through the course of your training will only make you a better teacher. If you are waiting for the day when you can finally get your foot behind your head, to become a teacher, or commit to take your practice to the next level, you may be denying yourself the opportunity of a lifetime.

As the only registered yoga school accredited with Yoga Alliance in Nusa Lembongan, Serenity Yoga Lembongan goes above and beyond the simple requirements of the Yoga Alliance to ensure that you got the most of your experience.

Each day will include yoga asana in the style of Vinyasa yoga, guided meditation and pranayama, philosophy, and yogic discussion with full support from the Serenity Yoga team. You will discover your authentic voice and gifts as a teacher, create inspiring and meaningful themes, master the art of observation, learn how to really see your students, design a self-practice that will be the basis of your own teaching style, and you will also learn how this creates not just a good teacher, but a fantastic one.

You will learn to understand better how to skillfully and playfully sequence group yoga classes, along with how to approach a one-on-one teaching in private classes, making them more meaningful and personal. You will be taught on how to build class templates, but is also flexible enough to be able to switch between intuitive and planned sequencing, and how to take inspiration from what you like, and not what you think you should like.

You will learn to embody the anatomy and philosophy of yoga, cultivating a deeper understanding of subtle body anatomy that you can sprinkle into your classes, and take further into better understanding your own practice and body. You will learn how to use your own life experiences as inspiration in your classes, refining your gift of expression and teaching through constant feedback with your teacher and peers.

You will be taught how to modify poses for beginners or advanced practitioners in your class, ensuring that each yogi takes from their practice what they need. You will also discuss the business of yoga and the philosophy of where yoga came from, how it evolved, and its different styles. You will touch on so many areas that you will realize that yoga is a journey of life, and these 200 hours of training will simply be the start of your big adventure into the most exciting journey of all.

Additional elements of the course

There will be additional (some are optional) workshops available to attend around Yin yoga, yoga Nidra, Fly High yoga, and SUP (stand up paddle board) yoga for those who are interested. There will also be allocated times for spending time privately with your yoga teachers to ensure that you are on the right path and to help you along every step of the way.

There will be a variety of assignments given to you during the course to ensure that you are absorbing the information you will be taught each week. Topics will vary and some will be written and some practical according to students' needs.

Final assessment

There will be a final practical exam where you will be invited to teach a full 60 to 90-minute yoga class to peers, with full support and feedback during and afterwards.

Great For Daily Classes | Go Elsewhere For 200hr YTT

CONS Cons: The way the 200hr YTT course is delivered really needs to be re-evaluated. The course lacked structure, poor time management, very unorganised. We did not cover all the content in the syllabus, no assessment criteria, no schedule, the list goes on... As soon as I had paid my non refundable $1000USD deposit ($1470.00AUD) Email communication became short abrupt and borderline rude with often no reply at all to my queries. It seemed like once they had my money I was no longer a priority of Serenity Yoga Lembongan's time or attention. The lead teacher really needs to be more open minded, compassionate and listen to her students to fulfil her duty as a successful YTT trainer. False advertising... When I secured my spot for the course the Serenity Yoga website said max 8 students. (Another student in the same course was advised max 6 students) There was inevitably 10 of us in total and it seemed as though Caroline spread herself too thinly and couldn't successfully fulfil her role as trainer by providing her students the time and attention we needed. Consequently not every student passed (despite completing the hours and work required). During the course you become very close with your classmates and this was a hugely disappointing outcome for all of us. For the students who failed to obtain the 85% pass mark, There was not enough support or effort on the schools part to provide a fair resit opportunity. These students are now $6000AUD out of pocket with no Yoga qualification.

PROS Pros: Daily classes are enjoyable and provide inspiring messages to take with you on your journey. A good balance being able to choose from powerful and dynamic vinyasa/flow versus afternoon classes of Yin. The owner/operator/lead teacher Caroline has good knowledge on yoga and anatomy. The shala and the setting are lovely amongst a beautiful garden. If you are staying next door at Puri Kirana they have a really nice pool which we used as often as our 200hr YTT schedule would allow.

    Perfect last minute getaway

CONS Cons: Occasionally had to ask the lodge to restock toilet paper etc, but this was sorted really quickly and there was always someone around to ask.

PROS Pros: Easy to book and great communication from Serenity yoga to arrange pick up details. Great yoga instruction - accessible and challenging enough for all levels. Puri karina lodges are in a good location for the beach and other places to eat & drink. Snorkelling and massage all included with good quality small local businesses :)

    YYTT 2017

CONS Cons: There was a lot of learning to get through which I guess isn't new in yoga trainings. Perhaps more small group learning and feeding back to Caroline and other participants would make managing the timeframe easier and added variety to the class. Some fine tuning of sequencing of learning material could also streamline classes. I will share my thoughts on this directly with Caroline.

PROS Pros: Caroline was very clear in her teachings and expectations. The printed learning materials contained clear photos of Caroline in each pose. The photos were in a separate document to the written material which made it easier to have both folders open on the relevant pages, rather than flipping backwards and forwards to the relevant pages. I enjoyed the variety of pranayama taught, a number of these were new to me. I felt the course provided us with what we need to teach classes and not just learning information. She is an excellent yoga instructor and has a passion for what she does which comes across in her teachings. The shala, location and arrangements made for us were wonderful! I would undertake further training with Caroline.

CONS Cons: I didn't meet the instructor till a few days in so be prepared to venture a little by yourself or with others you meet a long the way to find your way around the island :-)

PROS Pros: The snorkeling trip, yoga and massages was lovely. It was challenging at times but exactly what my body mind and soul needed. Very relaxing and motivating! Highly recommend! Caroline is a very experienced yoga instructor and manages to streamline her classes to suit everyone's needs.

CONS Cons: Nothing! It was all great!!

PROS Pros: The yoga was great, the accomodation was clean, the host was more than accomodating, the location spot on.. The yoga is right behind the accomodation and open to everyone as well which was great as I meet some lovely yogis also staying on the island. Friendships built quickly and easily and I believe it's due to the friendly vibe of the host and staff. Caroline was more than helpful always smiling and always friendly. She gave some awesome tips for my stay in the island and than again for back in Bali.. I would honestly go back again, I didn't want to leave.. memories I will hold forever where made during my stay.

"This was the second time I visited Serenity Yoga and again it didn't leave me disappointed. In fact the surf+serenity yoga was the main reasons we chose to come back to Lembongan in the first place. Caroline is one of the absolute best yoga teachers I've had, so inspirational, calming, professional and she always notices everyone in the class and takes everyone's needs in consideration. You always get different variations of the poses to fit your level and mood of the day. I had a foot injury the first few days when we arrived to the island but we could always work safely around it and it didn't stop me from coming to yoga every day. I am definately doing my yoga teacher training with serenity yoga as I have had only brilliant experiences at this beautiful shala. At serenity my boyfriend also managed to get completely hooked on yoga and it became a big part of our holiday on the island. Don't hesitate to get a 5- or 10-class card if you're staying for a while, you will want to use it!"

"Thank you again Caroline, we will be back! I highly recommend Serenity to Yogis of all levels!"

"I joined a Yin class at serenity and the class was very good. The teacher did a great job of guiding us to let go and breathe. She had some nice touches including essential oils, hands on adjustments if we wanted/needed it and offered many modifications. She was very knowledgeable about the meridians and which postures were connected to them and she would explain them very well. I came out of the class feeling really open, relaxed and blissful. I highly recommend."

The classes are highly professional and organised; the equipment and props are also great quality. I particularly loved the music soundtrack each day. Caroline is a kind, creative, experienced (patient) teacher and practitioner who provides a highly individualised class that support each participant's level. Serenity classes are fun. A great encourager and I'll definitely come back. It's very tricky to find if you try access from the beach so my advice would be to stick to the main round as it's signposted from the road."

The place is amazing, Caroline has been the best guide and teacher ever through this whole amazing experience. It's a lot of work, u get exausted but she ll guide you the whole way with professional guidance, true love of what s doing and teaching. I know it's not everywhere the same so id like to emphasis the fact that i was really able to be a teacher and i taught straight after my exam and felt confident. She gave me all the tools that i needed to start my journey as a vinyasa yoga teacher. Can't be more thankfull.. "

"I attended a 5 day yoga retreat at Serenity Yoga to begin five weeks in SE Asia. It was the perfect start to my trip in so many ways. Caroline was great at getting all the info to me beforehand and answering all my questions. I stayed 1 night in Sanur on arrival from London and then was picked up by Rocky transfers for the boat to Lembongan. If you are travelling long haul, I'd recommend staying a night on mainland Bali rather than doing the whole journey to Lembongan straight away - it only takes 30 mins on the boat but after 15+ hours from London I was glad for a shower and some rest. "

"The transfer was smooth and easy. They dropped us off at Puri Kirana, the accommodation for the retreat. Puri Kirana is simple, no frills bungalow accommodation. Make sure you bring bug repellant! The pool is big and lovely and the food is great! Try the banana and coconut porridge! The retreat includes a welcome dinner there which was a lovely way to meet the others on the retreat, sample the food and chat to Caroline and Lisa. "

"The yoga was different styles twice daily ranging from vinyasa, Hatha and fly high. For the most part the classes were all open to the public so it wasn't just the retreat folk in the class. However both Caroline and Lisa were attentive and remembered any individual problem areas so helped to make adjustments. The classes were never too busy so you still felt like you were getting the necessary attention. "

"Caroline held an arm balances workshop for us which was great!! I was able to get into poses I'd previously struggled with and as there were only four of us on the retreat it was very hands on. "

"As part of the retreat package, we had a full body massage and reflexology both of which were really good (although strong). Also a morning of snorkelling is included too which was great fun. We saw manta rays which was a highlight! "

"Caroline gave great recommendations of places to eat, things to do and always checked in to ensure that everything was ok. You can walk to most places and the beach is 5 mins away. It's also worth hiring a scooter for a day to check out the island or you can arrange to be taken around on the back of a scooter with Puri Kirana. "

"I fell in love with the island and ended up extending my time there to continue with yoga and enjoy the island. It's a really special place and I would highly recommend the retreat regardless of whether you are a beginner or advanced at yoga as Caroline is such a wonderful teacher. I'm almost certain I'll visit Lembongan and Serenity Yoga again!"

"My ideal holiday is being able to practice yoga every day and have the feeling of building up strength daily, challenge myself, breathe and relax - something I struggle to find time do in my day to day life.... and Serenity Yoga was one of the best yoga experiences I have had on my many holidays searching for this. "

"Caroline is a beautiful teacher, very thoughtful and spiritual, combined with her gentle technical consultation enabled me to challenge myself. "

"I love the variety at the Shala, there are many classes and times to choose from, more dynamic and aerobatic classes and beautiful yin classes..... and I loved the fitness classes for cardio and core strengthening, which I followed by yin straight after... I had no hesitation enjoying the sunset cocktails and afternoon bingangs as I knew I was nourishing my body with Caroline's classes!"

"Never thought I'd find such a class on this sleepy island, but we found aerial yoga at this open-air little pavilion on a small patch of land. There are straps hanging from the roof and we did partner work, swinging and dangling and hanging upside down on the straps with the assistance of our partner when needed. Quite a fun introduction, although the strap can also be a little painful for people not used to hanging from one. My companion enjoyed his yoga classes here - his second yoga class was this aerial one and he was happily doing advanced moves. We also enjoyed the power yoga, or vinyasa flow class as I know it. Looking forward to trying more classes here when we return to Lembongan :)"

Caroline is a very professional and serious teacher (something difficult to find in other yoga studios in Bali). Although, sadly we only attended one class but the experience was fantastic. We also had the chance to chat with one of his teachers training students and he seemed really happy with the course."
