    The accommodation options are all within one second or five minutes walk from Serenity Yoga shala to enable you to eat, sleep and breathe yoga during your stay. You will either stay at Puri Kirana Bungalows, which is connected to the premise, in a room equipped with hot water, air-conditioner, private bathroom, and a shared swimming pool in beautiful gardens, or at Sari Nusa, where you can enjoy a simpler room with cold water, air-conditioner, and a private bathroom, or at one of other accommodation places, just footsteps away with something in between these price ranges available.

    Serenity Yoga Lembongan is the only registered yoga school, accredited by Yoga Alliance, in Nusa Lembongan. The yoga teacher training program is designed for the yoga practitioner who is ready to take the next step and dive into the life changing experience of becoming a yoga teacher. It is designed for people who are super excited and committed to the idea of taking their love of yoga and embarking on a journey from student to teacher.

    This 30 days intensive yoga teacher training will place demands on your comfort zones, challenge your existing insecurities, and inspire incredible self-esteem and self-respect, both as a teacher and as an individual as well as transform your ability to feel connected to yourself and to others. You will be working together in a small team, so each session will be a powerful opportunity to get to better know yourself and those around you, supporting each other and helping each other grow and move forward as you make those steps of transitioning from student to teacher.

    Be prepared to be honest with yourself, to give yourself to each moment that comes to you, and to be receptive to seeing things from a totally different perspective than where you started.

    No formal experience is required to enroll in this yoga teacher training program. However, it is recommended that you have had at least one year of regular practice prior to the start of the course to help to get your started on your journey. A flexible body free of injuries is not a requirement for this training. Yoga is a practice of meeting the body where it is, and then working with the body to slowly and respectfully move deeper.

    The struggles and challenges you will face through the course of your training will only make you a better teacher. If you are waiting for the day when you can finally get your foot behind your head, to become a teacher, or commit to take your practice to the next level, you may be denying yourself the opportunity of a lifetime.

    As the only registered yoga school accredited with Yoga Alliance in Nusa Lembongan, Serenity Yoga Lembongan goes above and beyond the simple requirements of the Yoga Alliance to ensure that you got the most of your experience.

    Each day will include yoga asana in the style of Vinyasa yoga, guided meditation and pranayama, philosophy, and yogic discussion with full support from the Serenity Yoga team. You will discover your authentic voice and gifts as a teacher, create inspiring and meaningful themes, master the art of observation, learn how to really see your students, design a self-practice that will be the basis of your own teaching style, and you will also learn how this creates not just a good teacher, but a fantastic one.

    You will learn to understand better how to skillfully and playfully sequence group yoga classes, along with how to approach a one-on-one teaching in private classes, making them more meaningful and personal. You will be taught on how to build class templates, but is also flexible enough to be able to switch between intuitive and planned sequencing, and how to take inspiration from what you like, and not what you think you should like.

    You will learn to embody the anatomy and philosophy of yoga, cultivating a deeper understanding of subtle body anatomy that you can sprinkle into your classes, and take further into better understanding your own practice and body. You will learn how to use your own life experiences as inspiration in your classes, refining your gift of expression and teaching through constant feedback with your teacher and peers.

    You will be taught how to modify poses for beginners or advanced practitioners in your class, ensuring that each yogi takes from their practice what they need. You will also discuss the business of yoga and the philosophy of where yoga came from, how it evolved, and its different styles. You will touch on so many areas that you will realize that yoga is a journey of life, and these 200 hours of training will simply be the start of your big adventure into the most exciting journey of all.

    Additional elements of the course

    There will be additional (some are optional) workshops available to attend around Yin yoga, yoga Nidra, Fly High yoga, and SUP (stand up paddle board) yoga for those who are interested. There will also be allocated times for spending time privately with your yoga teachers to ensure that you are on the right path and to help you along every step of the way.

    Assignments

    There will be a variety of assignments given to you during the course to ensure that you are absorbing the information you will be taught each week. Topics will vary and some will be written and some practical according to students' needs.

    Final assessment

    There will be a final practical exam where you will be invited to teach a full 60 to 90-minute yoga class to peers, with full support and feedback during and afterwards.

    Yoga classes

    All yoga classes held one week before the course begins, throughout the whole duration of the course, and for one week after the course concludes, are free to this yoga teacher training course participants. There is an option for some individuals to stay longer with Serenity Yoga in an assistant and training capacity to teach in a safe environment.

    As a RYS 200-hour Yoga Alliance registered school, this yoga teacher training program meets the requirements of the national Yoga Alliance and provides training in the fundamental principles of teaching and living yoga, including:

    • Practicum (10 hours)
    • Teaching methodology (25 hours)
    • Techniques, training, and practice (100 hours)
    • Yoga philosophy, lifestyle, and ethics for yoga teachers (30 hours)

    This program includes a two-night learning excursion to Ubud, with accommodation, transportation, and yoga included in the price. Meals and drinks, however, are not included. This is a learning opportunity to meet and study with the favorite yoga teachers and peers at Yoga Barn and Radiantly Alive, with an objective of studying on what kind of personal style you hope to form when graduating as a yoga teacher.

    • Caroline

      Caroline is a Yoga Alliance registered E-RYT 500. She has been teaching and sharing yoga for over five years, as well as teaching yoga teacher training 200-hour programs and currently teaches retreats, workshops, and hundreds of public and private classes each year. Caroline came to yoga from an athletic background with a desire to better understand her body after the continued injuries from various long distance and track running events. She took her 200-hour Vinyasa flow YTT with Michael Watson in Bermuda and 500-hour Hatha YTT with Rosheen at Rishikesh Yog Peeth, India.

    This course will take place in Nusa Lembongan, Bali, Indonesia. Nusa Lembongan is a small and beautiful paradise island, located 30 minutes by boat from Sanur, Bali. The yoga shala is nestled away in the middle of the quietest part of Jungut Batu, surrounded by nature and the beautiful jungle garden, yet just footsteps away from the beach. Serenity Yoga Lembongan makes a point of spending time by the ocean everyday.

    Arrival by airplane

    Please book your flight to arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS). Transfer from and to the airport is available upon request. Please arrive at the very least a day or two earlier than the retreat date to ease jet lag and to settle into the island's life.

      "I attended a 5 day yoga retreat at Serenity Yoga to begin five weeks in SE Asia. It was the perfect start to my trip in so many ways. Caroline was great at getting all the info to me beforehand and answering all my questions. I stayed 1 night in Sanur on arrival from London and then was picked up by Rocky transfers for the boat to Lembongan. If you are travelling long haul, I'd recommend staying a night on mainland Bali rather than doing the whole journey to Lembongan straight away - it only takes 30 mins on the boat but after 15+ hours from London I was glad for a shower and some rest. "

      "The transfer was smooth and easy. They dropped us off at Puri Kirana, the accommodation for the retreat. Puri Kirana is simple, no frills bungalow accommodation. Make sure you bring bug repellant! The pool is big and lovely and the food is great! Try the banana and coconut porridge! The retreat includes a welcome dinner there which was a lovely way to meet the others on the retreat, sample the food and chat to Caroline and Lisa. "

      "The yoga was different styles twice daily ranging from vinyasa, Hatha and fly high. For the most part the classes were all open to the public so it wasn't just the retreat folk in the class. However both Caroline and Lisa were attentive and remembered any individual problem areas so helped to make adjustments.       "Never thought I'd find such a class on this sleepy island, but we found aerial yoga at this open-air little pavilion on a small patch of land. There are straps hanging from the roof and we did partner work, swinging and dangling and hanging upside down on the straps with the assistance of our partner when needed. Quite a fun introduction, although the strap can also be a little painful for people not used to hanging from one. My companion enjoyed his yoga classes here - his second yoga class was this aerial one and he was happily doing advanced moves. We also enjoyed the power yoga, or vinyasa flow class as I know it. Looking forward to trying more classes here when we return to Lembongan :)"
