This yoga teacher training program in Hawaii is scheduled as an intensive one. While the days are very full, they are also a wonderful mix of digesting concepts intellectually, applying concepts experientially, and diving into the practices of yoga. Care is taken within the program schedule to ensure that students have a healthy experience, both physically and mentally. There is physical activity and deep relaxation built into the program every day.
During the course, you will stay at Kalani Oceanside Retreat. With free Wi-Fi and parking, the retreat offers well-appointed rooms with private bathrooms. Guests can enjoy the on-site spa and wellness center, which features a jacuzzi, a beauty center, sauna, as well as a range of body treatments. The Kalani Oceanside Retreat offers a variety of personalized services for guests. Each large room at the Kalani Oceanside Retreat has complimentary toiletries, a safe, and a refrigerator.
This program is comprised of four distinct, seven day modules that can be completed in any order. Students enrolled in the advanced training will have reading and homework assignments outside of module courses. Courses are also open to yoga teachers seeking professional development who are not interested in registering for the entire advanced program.
Philosophy, meditation, chanting, asana practice, pranayama practice, teaching practice and self-study will be part of each module. Students will be required to purchase books for each training. A book list will be provided for each module upon sign up.
Arrival day on July 25 and departure day on August 26 do not have any required scheduled events. There will be two full days off during the program to rest and catch up on your studies.
A RYT-200 from a Yoga Alliance approved school is required prior to enrolling. Students must complete all four modules plus reading and assignments within two years from the start date. One year extensions may be granted upon written request. Please note that a generous tuition discount is extended to those who complete their modules within two years from their program start date.

Please book your flight to arrive at Hilo International Airport (ITO). This is the closest airport to Kalani, from other island airports such as Honolulu on Oahu, Kahului on Maui, Lihue on Kauai, or Kona. From Hilo International Airport, you can take shuttles to the retreat by informing Kalani Oceanside Retreat in advance.
Alternatively, you can book your flight to arrive at Kona International Airport (KOA). Kalani Oceanside Retreat is a two and a half to three hour scenic drive by car from Kona Airport, halfway around the Island of Hawaii, via either the northern or southern routes, or the newly finished Saddle road passing Mauna Kea.
There is very limited public transportation via the Hele-On county bus that leaves from the downtown Hilo Bus Station, which is a few miles from the Hilo Airport. This is a slow, but inexpensive option, that comes right to Kalani Oceanside Retreat if you can coordinate your schedule.
Kalani Oceanside Retreat offer shuttles to and from Hilo International Airport (ITO) at the cost of 75 USD one person, one way. If you want to book the shuttle, please contact Kalani Oceanside Retreat in advance. The retreat is about 45 minutes away from Hilo Airport.
From Hilo International Airport (ITO), you can get to the retreat on a taxi at the cost of 90 to 125 USD.
