The accommodation options are on private and double room basis. Each room at the sanctuary will be attributed to a daily practice, a practice that guides you on your path to enlightenment. The thatched cabanas made by local artisans using traditional building methods promise comfortable low-key luxury.

Antique doors, chic wenge furnitures, and lace bed runners, representing the excellent craftsmanship of southern Sri Lanka, are relaxed yet more refined than traditional eco-conscious retreats. Dove-white walls are the perfect canvas for artistic touches such as locally inspired block printing and more artworks by the residents artists to come.

Sleeping up to 20 guests, each of the twin and king sized double en suite cabanas are carefully designed to allow natural ventilation so as to avoid the need for air-conditioning, thanks to the beach side location the resort is naturally cool.

Kundalini yoga

Kundalini yoga is an ancient form of yoga, which become known as the yoga of awareness. Through regular practice, it offers heightened consciousness and a greater sense of well being. It is not a yoga that is based on postures or asana, which makes it different to most mainstream yoga styles.

A typical class consists of a series of physical movements, also know as kria, relaxation, and meditation. Movements can be held for two or three minutes, often combined with a breathing pattern, this allows energy pathways within the body to open and re-balance. Once these energy channels are open, physical and mental healing can begin.

Meditation is a huge part of Kundalini yoga. Often, meditation is used to release stored emotion and stress by working with breathing patterns and mantras. Kundalini yoga is powerful, fast, and effective. It provides simple steps that anyone can do no matter the age or physical ability. No previous experience of yoga is necessary to join a class.

"As soon as you enter the secluded and private Breath of Life Clinic, the atmosphere is a complete transformation from the whirlwind of Central London. The small practice cultivates a serene calm, which gives the mind and body a chance to meditate and rest. The practitioners themselves are professional, welcoming and friendly, balanced with a readiness to aid anyone in need of relief. They reflect the tranquility created within the practice. I have come here many times, usually during exam period which is very stressful for me, yet each time I have been helped by these lovely people and I am most grateful for it."
