Altitude sickness

When you fly to Cusco, the 1.5-hour nonstop flight from Lima’s International Airport takes you from sea level to the age-old Inca city in the Andes at 11,155 feet (3,400 meters). For many, this change in elevation translates to shortness of breath, lightheadedness, and fatigue. Some travelers experience gastrointestinal problems, such as an upset stomach, nausea, or loss of appetite.

It is highly recommended that you arrive a day in advance to allow yourself ample time to adjust organically to the high altitude of Cusco. A few other methods of preparation and treatment include: packing some altitude sickness meds, drinking coca tea or chewing coca leaves, avoiding heavy meals and alcohol on your first day, staying hydrated, and limiting heavy activity for your first 24-48 hours.

Retreat location

Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Incas

Peru’s Sacred Valley is the perfect place to release, reclaim and reimagine. Take a journey through sacred lands that will lead you deeper into your heart. This is an opportunity to be liberated from everyday distractions, so you can release the blocked energies of the last year, and ignite your inner curiosity, passion, soul wisdom, creative fire and feminine energy.

In Incan mythology, nature is sacred and mountains are living embodiments of powerful spirits (Apus), and Pachamama (the Divine World Mother) is in all things and everywhere at once. She is balanced by the Cosmic Father and together they weave the fabric of multi-dimensional reality, expressing the eternal truth of the oneness with all that is.

There is no better place for reawakening to the truth of who you really are (an infinite and eternal soul) than in the heart of the Sacred Valley, surrounded by a landscape of majestic mountains. The Sacred Valley is one of the most powerful energetic centers in the world, with high energy vortexes and mysterious ancient temples, like Machu Picchu.
