Rock Climbing

With 70,000 Limestone Karst Towers, Yangshuo is an ultimate destination for rock climbing!! Push your mind & body, overcome fear and doubt, and experience views like no other as you take your yoga to the rocks. For newer climbers, we will teach you all you will need to know to get climbing. For the experienced climber, we will take you to some of the most incredible crags and be your project- working climbing partner.

Kayaking

The Li Jiang River between Guilin and Yangshuo is one of the most beautiful rivers in the world! Experience it from the peace and tranquility of your kayak. Paddle through bamboo forests, alongside water buffalo, and quaint quiet villages.

Biking

The experienced mountain biking guides will take you on quiet countryside roads and rice paddy paths where you can once again immerse in the silence and beauty of the karst limestone towers.

Trekking on Longshen Rice Terraces

Hike through the amazing hill tribe villages and rice fields of Longshen. Here you will experience village life first hand while we stay with a family on their homestead.

About the Practice

Yoga

Your sessions offer a fusion of modern anatomy perspective and flair, with ancient tradition, philosophy, and authenticity. Morning classes are generally a dynamic Vinyasa flow, while evening classes are more relaxing and meditative. Each class includes modifications for beginners and those with physical restrictions as well as options for those who wish to take their practice to a more physically challenging level. There is a strong focus on presence, healing, pranayama, meditation, and relaxation.

Meditation

Daily meditation techniques will be facilitated in a group setting, as well as a practice for you to cultivate on your own. This includes moving meditation, walking, and silent sitting. These techniques help to focus and calm the mind so that you may experience the grace of meditation. You are also free to practice any meditation technique that you are currently already using.

Daily group sharing

Each person will have an optional 1-2 minutes to share from their heart and be completely heard. This reflective presence is a catalyst for growth, evolution, understanding and healing.

Tai Chi

You will experience the incredible moving meditation and energy cultivation practice of Tai Chi. You will have the opportunity to practice with a local master in an ancient Taoist temple.

Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatments

To balance out all of the outdoor adventure and yoga, each person will rest deeply with 3 Chinese medicine treatments of their choice. Whether you choose acupuncture, massage, reflexology or another, your local Chinese doctor and healing expert will leave you feeling blissfully balanced and at peace.

Brief Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival: Guilin

Arrival in Guilin by 3 p.m. Evening opening circle, meditation, and sharing. Setting intentions and introducing the Taoist, traditions and how they relate to our journey. Evening walking exploration of Guilin, 3 lakes, pagodas, and dinner in the Buddhist vegetarian restaurant.

Day 2: Guilin-Yangshuo

Morning meditation and yoga. Breakfast in the unique riverside museum hotel. Travel to Yangshuo by private car / van. Once arrived in Yangshuo, you will rest and explore this beautiful town of 70,000 Karst Towers. Evening walk to town for reflexology and family style dinner.

Day 3: Yangshuo

Today you will visit the 800 year old village of Fuli, Ancient Liugong- enjoy morning Tai Chi and talk about Taoist philosophy with a local teacher. Visit the Fuli local market and delve into local life and delicacies. Learn Chinese fan painting and create your own fan art to take home. Kayak down the Li Jiang among the rice patties, local villages, water buffalo and Karst towers.

Day 4: Yangshuo

Morning yoga and meditation after hike up the unique karst arch of moon hill for the most incredible 360 degree view. Return for lunch and an introduction to Chinese medicine with a local Chinese doctor. Then receive a 1.5 hour treatment of massage, acupuncture, or cupping.

Day 5: Yangshuo

Morning Tai Chi. Led by your guides’ 35+ years of experience and expertise, you will move your yoga practice to the vertical and go rock climbing. It is a day of pushing the limits of your mind and body and embodying an even greater state of the fierce warrior. Evening riverside yoga and relaxation

Day 6: Yangshuo

Yoga and meditation followed by a day of biking through picturesque local villages, rice fields, and alongside the dragon river. Return to town to visit the local market and learn to cook your own Chinese dinner at the countryside cooking school.

Day 7: Yangshuo

A free day to delve deeper into whatever and wherever your heart calls! The evening will bring you back together for a celebration Buddhist vegetarian dinner and the world famous sister Liu light show.

Day 8: Yangshuo to Longshen

Morning Tai Chi followed by travel by private mini van to the rice terraces of Longshen. Along the way you will visit the organic tea farm of Sanjilu. Here you will tour the tea gardens and sample their offerings through a traditional tea ceremony and tasting. You will have an evening hike to your hotel nestled among the rice fields in the beautiful village of Ping’an. You will experience village life first hand as you connect with the beautiful Zhuang minority group. Evening meditation overlooking the terraces will close the day.

Day 9: Longshen

Morning mountain side yoga and meditation with a day of silent trekking through beautiful villages, inspiring views, and an opportunity to go deeper into a state of meditation.

Days 10 to 12: Longshen

Morning mountainside yoga and meditation. Options to trek or relax in the villages and rice terraces. Last evening closing, dinner, sharing, and relaxation.

Day 13: Longshen to Guilin departure day

Morning yoga, breakfast and departure to Guilin Airport.…Organizer will help to organize onward travel depending on flight times and next destination.

You will adventure from the romantic lake city of Guilin, to Yangshuo, the Li river village of 70,000 limestone Karst towers, then onto the rice terrace villages of Longshen. You will weave in and out of Yin and Yang as you adventure in remote villages, the silence and beauty of unique natural landscapes, and amidst bustling Chinese culture.

Food

Food in China is amazing! Seeking Adventures include happy healthy food that makes your body and mind feel great. You will be eating mostly vegetarian, with some meat options. The meals will support the activities of the journey, and are a nutritious mix of local cuisine with some western favorites. They often share many dishes and get the opportunity to sample the incredible cuisine of China. Other times you may just choose from a set menu. There will always be plenty of food to sample, and you will definitely like something being offered. Most allergies and dietary restrictions can be accommodated.
