Body Metaphors theory and practice

You all have moments when you look in the mirror and don't like what you see (not right skin, too skinny / fat legs, hair looking odd, etc.). You "zombify" yourselves or try to fit into others' expectations. Enough of that. You will learn to see and work with unhealthy patterns and body metaphors.

Shake off those "blocks"!

The Body in the Movement theory and practice

When you are a child, your body has not yet accumulated and recorded blocks, knots, tensions, and other "joys" in the body. In childhood, your bodies are free and present. So what have you collected in your bodies and minds?

You will work with decoding the "messages" from the body. You'll see which "tensions" require the most effort to maintain and what to do about all this.

"My Self Perceptions" theory and practice

You will explore the issue of bodily limitations, examining how you code yourselves into a "crooked stump," "stick," "man-woman," "weakling," or whatever else you label yourselves. You'll discover how this manifests in the body. Playful practices!

Popular statements like "Accept yourself as you are" come without instructions, and you often try to apply them forcefully. This doesn't work, as many already know from experience. So, they will write down some instructions!

Mandala yoga

Mandala yoga is an intensive practice integrating asanas, Vinyasas, pranayama, mantras, and visualizations. A flowing practice structured according to specific rules, with turns and movements in space. You will use your bodies to draw a balanced and beautiful mandala structure in space.

Itinerary

Day 1

  • Arrive at the Dalaman Airport (DLM) and take a short drive to the retreat location (20 minutes)
  • Group meeting with the hosting team and other travelers
  • Theory and practice: "Body Metaphors". Dynamic body meditation
  • Intensive yoga practice: Immersion in asana techniques, mastering "support," deconstructing rusty thought patterns through the body
  • Meditation: "Feeling the body through thought." Introduction to gong vibrations

Day 2

  • Morning flow practice with pranayama (breathing technique) and meditation
  • Theory and practice: "The Body in the Moment."
  • Intensive yoga practice. Body scheme "Balance" through mastering balance with the body
  • Meditation: Feeling oneself in space. Preparation for mandala yoga. Introduction to gong vibrations

Day 3

  • Morning Vinyasa with dynamic breathing techniques throughout the practice
  • Theory and practice: "My Self-Perceptions".
  • Mandala yoga (on a double mat)

Day 4

  • Morning practice "Foot" before hiking

After breakfast, you embark on a hike along the Lycian Way! You have a 7 kilometers route ahead, passing through 2 wild beaches and ancient ruins. You'll spend the day in mindfulness, returning attention to the body through the practice of hiking.

You'll also enjoy swimming and finish your hike by a short boat trip and will have a dinner out. Your explorations by this day will provide you with plenty of food for thought, tools for work, and new questions. Or maybe not! They'll look at that too.

  • Gong meditation

Day 5

Today, a true voyage into the sea awaits you! There will be a morning practice of Hatha (or, as it's also called Yin yoga).

On the boat, you will explore which ways and techniques of immersion in water balance, gather attention, and evoke joyful childlike squeals, and more!

After breakfast, you head to Oludeniz. From there, you'll be embarking on a boat, spending the day cruising in the most beautiful bays, sunbathing, dining on deck, and enjoying the sunset.

For those who are not flying out yet — you can stroll around the city, explore the local culture, and go shopping!

Included excursions

Hiking

The group will devote one day to the practice of hiking and walking meditation. You will be actively hiking along one of the most picturesque sections of the Lycian Way, the route of which runs through mountains, forests, and historical sites of the ancient Lycian region.

You will have a great opportunity to explore the secret wild beaches of the Aegean coast and enjoy the amazing turquoise color of the sea.

Aegean sunset: Boat trip along the bays of the Aegean Sea

Participants will embark on a a boat trip - swimming in stunning bays, sunbathing, dining on deck, and welcoming the sunset at sea with music and dancing. You will beautifully spend the time immersing yourself in the turquoise waters to your heart's content.

You'll stay not far away from Göcek which is a picturesque village located in the Fethiye district of Muğla Province, Turkey.

Known for its stunning natural beauty, Göcek features a large bay surrounded by islands and coves, making it a popular destination for yacht tourism. The area is home to six marinas and offers a tranquil atmosphere, ideal for relaxation and outdoor activities such as sailing and swimming.

Historically known as Callimache, Göcek has retained its charm with low-rise buildings due to its designation as a protected area. With a rich cultural heritage and proximity to historical sites, it serves as an excellent base for exploring the beautiful Turkish coastline.

Food

They will offer you the opportunity to experience traditional Anatolian cuisine. Homemade Turkish dishes will be prepared with the freshest ingredients sourced from local mountain villages.

Vegetarian / vegan options will be available, and they will take into consideration any food restrictions that you may have to ensure that everyone can enjoy the delicious meals.

Additionally, there are many beautiful places to visit, including some ancient ruins, which you are highly recommended to explore. The team will be happy to assist you with booking any activities or tours.

You are highly recommended to enjoy a Turkish hammam experience - a traditional Turkish bath that will allow you to relax and rejuvenate your body after hiking!

Everyone usually takes a taxi from the airport to the hotel, as it only takes about 15-20 minutes. So you will meet directly at the hotel. They will provide instructions on how to get there. If requested, they can arrange a transfer.
