The Mystical Yoga Farm is a very unique place that offers a special opportunity to live on the land and with nature, as you take rest from your everyday life and immerse yourself in the practice of yoga. The Mystical Yoga Farm is home.

The Mystical Yoga Farm is a self-directed spiritual community that is focused on self-sustainability, growing fresh organic food, growing healthy yogis, teachers, and healing practitioners. The desire is to heal the earth and its inhabitants through connection with nature and spirit, the source of all of creation.

The Yoga Farm is a secluded, private property only accessible by boat. It sits at the base of a volcano and is surrounded by magical forests and healing waters. It is an Eco-Rustico retreat center that is off the grid; utilizing filtered water, composting toilets, solar hot water, and solar electricity.

They have a variety of sleeping accommodations, including four newly built private rooms, two private cabins on the upper land, two private waterside cabins in the lower land, two open shared dormitory cabins, one large attic dormitory, camping options, and a floating boathouse.

They share meals in the Rancho and practice in a new-built yoga shala with breath-taking views of the lake on which it lives near the volcanoes across the water. Meditation occurs on the dock as people watch the sunrise over the volcano.

This place is a rare gem, a peaceful oasis like nothing experienced before; perfect for the inward journey you seek to embark on. As well as being the perfect location for contemplation during your teacher training, the farm shares its beauty in many ways during your free time: from gardening and coffee picking, to swimming in the cool waters of the lake and sauna in our traditional wood-fired temescal, from feeding the chickens and stirring the compost, to volcano hikes and local village trips.

Whether you prefer adventure or simply relaxing in a hammock with a book from their spectacular conscious library, the Mystical Yoga Farm is the perfect location to let go of all of your daily responsibilities.

Program

Program overview

Who is a Mystical Mama?

She is the expression of the divine feminine within all of us. She walks on the earth gently with beauty and grace. She knows the world is her creation as she dreams of her world into being. She knows her true soul’s purpose and lives each day blossoming into the path she was meant to walk.

She is in harmony with the natural rhythms of life and the cycles of the moon, oceans, and stars. She walks barefoot on the moist Earth and sees clearly through the dark, embracing the sweetness of the air as the sun sets and the silence of the night reveals its secrets.

Her womb is the ultimate source of creativity, the dynamic flow of life force energy. The sacredness of her nature is expressed through love and magnified in her relationships with others and the natural world.

When she becomes pregnant with the life of a baby within, she radiates as she has never before. Her aura glows and vibrates with her two heartbeats and is felt from all that surrounds her. The wisdom within her ripens as her belly becomes full. This ancient knowledge seeps into her skin from the soil beneath and dances out in the harmony of her voice, felt in the warmth of her actions and is known in the child within. This child is born into the life of a sage.

Dive into the sacred feminine

Learn to teach yoga to pregnant women, support them through pregnancy and birth, and be a part of raising consciousness in our future generations.

In this journey, you will flow through the trimesters as well as through the Peruvian Medicine Wheel as you dive into the Divine Feminine and Mother Archetype. As you move through your transformations, you reveal what it is people are called to share with the future children of the world, inside of the pregnant mother.

Mothers hold the seeds of the next generation of conscious creators inside the heart of their wombs, making it imperative for you to hold space for this transformation. Within this very sacred time of being pregnant a mother is a moving temple and all that she thinks, eats, and does is imprinted on the baby inside of her. Yoga provides a precious gift of translating that sacredness into everyday life and the baby within, motherhood and beyond.

Yoga teachers, doulas, midwives, birth workers, nurses, mothers, or anyone wanting to learn more about this sacred time, are all invited to share in this Mystical Mama Journey.

You will be joined by local midwives as they share their wisdom of being a midwife in Guatemala, all called to this way of life by their dreams. You will also be connected to midwives in the western world as they share their wisdom of being with pregnant women before, during, and after birth.

You will leave this training feeling empowered and prepared to guide pregnant women on their journey, either through yoga classes or in a support role. As well as gaining in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology, the fundamentals of building a safe prenatal class and the importance of nutrition, you will break down numerous common poses in detail.

You will also explore the importance of ancient wisdom, such as the placenta as medicine and undisturbed birth. This training is a merging of the heart and science of becoming a mother and how yoga can serve as both.

Core curriculum

Mystical Mama Yoga is the yoga of spiritual practice. True to its Mystical Mama roots, this prenatal practice is derived from different yoga traditions, such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Sivananda, and Iyengar. It is designed beyond form and tradition and aims to encompass the essence of yoga and spirituality as a practice of Union.

You will be guided each class with ease, intention and with the highest regard for the pregnant mother. You focus on the roots of your yoga tradition, where yoga is used as an instrument to reveal the truth of our existence as spiritual beings.

This yoga teacher training is a holistic program; to understand yoga you must first understand yourself, body, mind, and spirit. You use the four directions of the Native American Medicine wheel as a guide and foundational structure for the course. Within each direction, you will focus on different types of movement, nourishment, and meditation to meet the mother, Goddess.

You bring to life the ancient teachings of wise women all over the world, through accessible and intuitive based teaching methods. During the teacher training program you will:

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at La Aurora International Airport (GUA). From the airport, you can go directly to Pana and take a boat to the Farm, or you can spend the night in Antigua and travel to Pana the next day.

If your flight arrives before 1 p.m, you have a good chance of making it to the farm in one day. You can book a direct shuttle from the airport to Pana. It is about three and a half hours drive.

Setting up a transfer from the airport to Antigua is easy. You can email your hotel to set it up or you can email a shuttle company directly. The cost from the airport to Antigua is 10 USD.

Arrival by ferry

Take a boat ride from Pana to Santiago:

  • From the boat dock, take a public boat to Santiago.
  • All you need to do is say to someone a Santiago and they will lead you in the right direction.

These public boats run every half hour and cost Q25 (3 USD) / person. It is about a 45-minute ride from Pana to Santiago. You can hire a private boat for 25 USD. The last boat is usually at 6 p.m

Take a boat ride from Santiago to the Mystical Yoga Farm:

  • From Santiago, take a private boat five to eight minutes across the lake to the farm.
  • Ask for Guillermo, Francisco or Jose the boat driver to take you to the Finca de Yoga. This ride should cost no more than Q35 (4.50 USD).

There is around yoga shala with a thatched roof at the front of the property.

Arrival by shuttle

You can typically schedule these shuttles at any tour agency or even at the hostel you are staying at.

From Antigua to Pana there is a shuttle at 8.00, 12.30, and 16.00. It is about a three to five hours shuttle ride. The price is typically 8 USD (60Q). For people who are staying at the International Mochilero, walk across the street to the Casa Amarilla (yellow house) and get a shuttle to Lake Atitlan for Q60 or 8 USD.

One thing is that people should not go through the Plus Travel Agency for shuttles, especially to Atitlan. There is a road that is washed out so you have to take a detour and need a good reliable 4WD vehicle.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
