Sarva Rasa Yoga 300-hour yoga teacher training intensive is a Yoga Alliance approved foundation training rooted in the lineages of Hatha and Ashtanga yoga. This training will provide participants with the knowledge, practice, and experience to become creative, competent, and inspiring teachers. If you are not currently practicing yoga, it is highly recommend that you begin practicing at least three times a week to prepare physically and mentally for the training.

Pre-course readings:

  • Teaching Yoga: Chapter 1 and 2 -The Courage To Teach (please complete at least the first 2 chapters before training begins. Keep in mind, the entire book will be read and you are welcome to read ahead)
  • Yoga Anatomy: Introduction -Yoga Sutras: Introduction through page 16 (again the entire book will be read, feel free to read ahead)
  • All of the Yamas and Niyamas book. You may wish to read ahead

As you complete your reading, please take notes, write down relevant discussion points, things that struck you, questions to discuss with the group.

Many of these books are available as ebooks if you wish to lighten your travel load


Selena Garefino
Selena Garefino is the co-founder of Sarva Rasa Yoga. She began practicing yoga when she was 13 years old. Yoga has been and continues to be, for Selena, a vehicle for learning to shift from habitual emotional and behavioral tendencies toward serving highest possibility. Selena completed her first Vinyasa training with Core Power Yoga. She went on to study with Sarah Powers, Melina Meza, Anne Phyfe, Nicolai Bachman, Elena Brower, and Noah Mazé. She has studied Yin yoga, Restorative yoga, Prenatal and Postpartum yoga, Vinyasa, and Hatha yoga.
Anwar Gilbert
Anwar Gilbert is the co-founder of Sarva Rasa Yoga. Anwar is a yoga teacher, nutritionist, personal trainer, performance specialist, integrated flexibility specialist, pre / postnatal specialist, and corrective exercise specialist. Anwar has been guiding his clients on their individual paths to wellness for 14 years. He has been teaching anatomy and physiology as well as coaching and mentoring personal trainers and movement teachers throughout his career.
