Sarva Rasa Yoga Teacher Training Costa Rica Program

You will be able to perform or guide a student into various asana (postures). Additionally, for each posture, you will know the safety precautions, modifications, contraindications, the proper alignment of the pose, and will feel confident offering hands-on adjustments.

Pranayama and bandhas

You will effectively guide and practice various traditional pranayama exercises and effectively link movement with breath as well as understanding the bandhas and how to apply them in your own practice as well as your student's.

You should feel comfortable guiding a basic meditation practice and cultivating awareness and movement as meditation through a guided asana practice.

You will be familiar with the eight limbs of yoga and the ethical principles of yoga (the yamas and the niyamas). You will have a basic understanding of the history of modern yoga and you will be familiar with the classic yogic texts. Additionally, you will learn how to live a yogic lifestyle, taking your yoga off of your mats and into your day-to-day life.

Anatomy and physiology

You will be able to correctly identify the primary bones and muscles of the body. You will understand movement principles and how to prevent injury. You will also have a basic understanding of the yoga energetic body (the chakras, nadis, and koshas).

Teaching methodology

When you become a graduating teacher, you will feel comfortable leading a group, all-level class. You will be comfortable with sequencing, cueing, and leading. You will be able to guide students safely through a 60-minute alignment-based Vinyasa class.

You will grow your personal practice, develop your voice, and deepen your connection. You will learn to lead and support your fellow teachers and community members.
