Come to Santa Barbara for a personal yoga retreat. Spend quiet time or meditate in a spacious private apartment and prepare your own food in the full kitchen, or walk a few blocks to sample some of Santa Barbara's wonderful restaurants. Practice on your own schedule in the apartment's open, sunlit space, or join the scheduled classes included with your stay and taught by highly experienced teachers to deepen your practice and explore new modalities. It's a walk down the main street to the beach and on the edge of downtown where you can enjoy plays, concerts, or films. Or relax, meditate, read, or write in the comfortable apartment.

Established three decades ago in 1992, Santa Barbara Yoga Center is one of California's leading yoga centers, home to some of the finest instructors in the state. Located in a beautiful, historic building, their studios have an expansive atmosphere, with twenty-foot ceilings and huge skylights, and are filled with light. Their studio apartment accommodates one or two people only with a queen-sized bed and a futon in the upstairs sleeping space. The downstairs has a full kitchen.

This retreat is completely self-motivated and driven. You may choose for your own class and schedule. This retreat is suitable for different needs and ages. A sample of the classes can be found below:

Driving directions from 101 Freeway

  • If you are heading north, take the Arrellaga Street exit.
  • After 5 blocks, turn right on State Street.
  • At the next street, turn left onto MicheltorenaI Street.
  • Santa Barbara Yoga Center is halfway down the block on the right. It is the big yellow building.

  • From the off ramp, turn left onto Mission Street under the freeway.
  • After 5 blocks, turn right on State Street.
  • After about 5 blocks, turn left at light onto Micheltorena Street.
  • Santa Barbara Yoga Center is halfway down the block on the right. It is the big yellow building.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
