Die Prayanama-Stunden am Vormittag am Strand: sehr friedlich und der beste Start für den Tag.
Die Mediation-Übungen waren einzigartig und für mich eine Entdeckung. Vishal wiesst, wie man die Leute zu Meditation bringen kann und es liegt ihm sehr am Herz, dass jede/r ihrer/seiner eigenen Reise folgen kann. Was Vishal zu dieser Retreat mit seiner Energie und Leidenschaft bringt kann man nirgendwo anders finden.
Die Abendessen von Rita: jeden Abend ein neues leckeres Gericht aus Mauritius!
Die Freundlichkeit von Dave in den Yoga-Stunden: dazu hat er die Übungen mir angepasst.
Die Frühstücke: Sundeep bereitet ganz leckere Oatmeals mit frischen Früchten und Nüssen vor.
Und schlussendlich der Strand von Trou aux Biches.

"Home away from home, your soul will thank you"
Such a fantastic experience. This was my first yoga retreat and I couldn’t have picked a better one. Great balance of learning, yoga, pranayama, meditation, relaxation, phenomenal food and self discovery. Vishal is a wonderful teacher and his enthusiasm for helping others is infectious. There are so many positive things I have taken from this trip and I cannot thank Vishal and his team enough. Dave with his great energy, patience and helpful posture corrections. Sandeep for the conversations, company and best breakfast recipe which I will shamelessly steal. Vilash and his magical healing hands massaged all tight muscles away. And last but definitely not least, big thank you to Rita for feeding my soul. Her home cooking of local dishes was the best way to end the day and I loved having a daily dinner together in the main house with everyone, made me feel at home.
Location is a couple minutes from the beach and pranayama is on a jetty over the water every morning. I stayed in the one bedroom studio and it was huge. Massive kitchen with everything I needed.

"Yoga retreat experience "
Meditation was fantastic and enlightening. Meditation early morning in particular was great. Learned lots; the instructor Vishal wasn't afraid to go the extra mile, answering anything you wanted to know. A great Mauritian experience with a real feel for the culture which was all part of the retreat. Food was absolutely exquisite! Cooked and prepared by a Mauritian family who made sure they satisfied your pallete.

"Stunning 4 day retreat "
I was at Sannyasa retreat for 4 days and what an amazing experience
Even before I arrived Vishal kept in contact to ensure that all would run smoothly for my arrival and it was comforting to know that someone from the retreat would be picking me up from the airport
The retreat is tucked away in a quiet part of Trou aux Biches where you will find everything you need pharmacy, shops, cafes, restaurants, bank and post office
The beach is a short stroll away where in the peace of dawn each morning the Pranayama class is held
Kind and caring Sandeep provides wholesome and healthy breakfasts to set you up for the day
Yoga with Dav is relaxing and his kind nature left me feeling very nurtured
Massage at the retreat is truly amazing and both Vishal and Vilash have ‘magic hands’ easing away all aches and pains and calming the mind
Vegetarian meals with local produce are prepared lovingly by the lovely Rita. My tummy expanded !!!
The excursions are definitely an added bonus to soak up some culture
Meditation led by the incredibly kind and knowledgable Vishal were truly life changing for me and gave me the tools and tips to take away with to practice in my own
I would recommend this retreat and WILL be coming back for more

I had a great time and learned a lot of valuable things. The staff is very nice, always helpful and extremely accommodating.
In the beginning I felt a little weird about traveling alone to Mauritius but I soon felt like I had a mauritian family.

"I will warmly recommend the 8 Days Yoga Retreat at Sannyasa!"
During this retreat you are in the hands of the Sannyasa team where each individual is extremely passionate about their field. You wake up every morning at 5 to walk to the beach where Vishal guides you passionately through the pranayam breathing exercises. Being at the beach at 5 in the morning is an experience itself. You hear the quiet morning waves and feel the sun rising on your skin. After the pranayam session I was provided with a delicious and healthy breakfast in the best company of Vinoo and Sundeep who are in charge of the general maintenance at Sannyasa. They are both very friendly and loveable and will happily show you around Trou Aux Biches and help you arrange trips to different places of the island. At 10 o'clock every day I enjoyed the Hatha yoga class instructed by the very nice and calm Mr. Daya, who is also very passionate about his yoga and about finding exercises that benefit your needs. The day ended with the meditation class guided by Vishal followed by an amazing home cooked dinner. The cook, Rita, is not only a passionate cook but as well an amazingly loving person. During my retreat every day had a perfect ending sitting around the table with the Sannyasa family, enjoying varieties of Ritas local, home cooked dishes. Every single spice and vegetable has a purpose in Ritas cooking and the menu is very thought through and is as healthy as it is delicious. I will warmly recommend the 8 days meditation, yoga and detox retreat at Sannyasa.

"Excellent mauritius and yoga experience"
My yoga retreat at sannyasa was a wonderful and interesting experience! The meditation and pranyama lessons with vishal were great and he really likes to share his huge knowledge in all the topics around yoga philosophy and ayurveda! Hatha yoga with dave was as well very nice and the ayurveda massages were excellent. In the guesthouse sandeep was a great host and prepared an excellent breakfast and for dinner Rita cooked increadibly tasteful, vegetarian creolic-ayurvedic meals! The excursions with vishal were interesting and fun, he knows the island perfectly well and you will have a ‚local‘ experience with him.
Can totally recommend sannyasa for a real mauritius and yoga experience.

This was a wonderful experience! Vishal is a great teacher and very friendly and accomodating. The breathing excercises by the sea at dawn were a unique experience. We felt welcome from the very first minute. He has a super friendly team: Sundeep takes care of the tasty breakfasts and is very kind. Dave, his father, teaches yoga and makes it also accessible to beginners, like my husband. You can tell that he doesn't just go through the motions, but lives yoga. And then there is Rita, Sundeep's mother and Dave's wife, who prepares delicious meals for dinner and who has a passion for cooking. We had some really lovely conversations and it felt like we'd been "adopted". We can only recommend Sannyasa and hope to be back soon! Namaste!

Umgebung / Unterkunft - Sannyasa Wellness and Spa findet sich nicht unweit des paradiesischen Strandes von Trou aux Biches im Nord-Westen von Mauritius (ca. 5 bis 10 Gehminuten) - sauber, relativ windstill, nicht überlaufen... „Noch“ ein wahrer Geheimtipp! Die Unterkunft ist liebevoll eingerichtet und auf Sauberkeit wird großer Wert gelegt.
Essen - Rita (die gute Seele des Sannyasa Teams) zaubert jeden Abend ein Dinner der Extraklasse - eine kulinarische Reise durch die Küche Mauritius (vom indischen Hochzeitsessen bis zum traditionellen Sklavenessen). Tipp: Man sollte sich nicht entgehen lassen Rita beim Kochen über die Schulter zu schauen... Auch wenn Rita’s Küche das Frühstück etwas in den Schatten stellt, ist das Frühstück ein wahrer Pluspunkt: Gesundes (ausgefallenes) Frühstück, das zum Nachmachen einlädt…
Yoga: Das Programm (5 Uhr aufstehen für die erste Yoga Stunde) klingt nicht nach Urlaub. Doch nach der ersten Pranayama Stunde, unmittelbar am Strand mit der aufgehenden Sonne, ist das frühe Aufstehen vergessen... Trotz meiner geringen Vorkenntnisse in Sachen Yoga habe ich mich in den einzelnen Unterrichtseinheiten (Pranayama am Morgen, gefolgt von Hatha am Vormittag und Meditation am Abend) gut aufgehoben gefühlt – auf meine individuellen Vorkenntnisse und Bedürfnisse wurde optimal eingegangen …
Sannyasa Team – Der größte Pluspunkt ist allerdings das mehr als herzliche Sannyasa Team, das meinen Urlaub zu einem einzigartigen Erlebnis gemacht hat!
