Sanctuary Hill provides shared accommodation, with two or three guests per room. The maximum number for the groups is 12 guests.

The modern luxury bedrooms are equipped with 100% cotton linen and towels. They also have an option for couples to be accommodated in a king-size bedroom.

Sanctuary Hill invites the guests to unwind: take a walk, explore the property, read a book from the library, journal, connect with nature and wildlife, and relax in the hot tub.



All activities in the program are included and the opportunity to attend all of the yoga and meditation sessions. The schedule is designed to include two yoga classes a day, apart from Friday which will only include one yoga class after your arrival.

By the end of the retreat you will be confident and comfortable to advance and modify your practice where needed and practice safely.

They specialize on traditional Hatha and Restorative styles. They will review yoga postures from the musculoskeletal and energy alignment, breathing practices, and meditation techniques. The team of wellness experts provides workshops and education to help you achieve your health related goals. As you become more immersed in the understanding of yoga, other aspects of this science begin to highlight in your life. You will talk about the presentation through yoga philosophy to gain a deeper knowledge of your physical and energetical body and your mind. You will enjoy a sound healing evening session on Sunday night. The crystal and Tibetan bowls create a tremendous effect upon the body and consciousness of the individual. Crystal sound baths help to facilitate a shift in your brain waves so that a deep state of meditation and internal healing can occur. Sound therapy is just one way of achieving a meditative state without having to master the practice of meditation. This experience is perfect for beginners however those more experienced can reach a theta state (deep meditation) or even a delta state (where internal healing can occur).

Here's a few pointers on how to prepare for the weekend:

On the two weeks leading up to Retreat, take some time to contemplate what your intention is for the retreat. Go for a walk, do some journalling, take a long bath, hit the hot pools. Ask yourself, what do I want to experience? How do I want to feel after this retreat? What is this retreat about for me?

Try to refrain from having any intoxicants the week leading up to Retreat including alcohol and coffee. Also, be mindful of how much sugar you're putting in your system. Often the body can start to detox during the retreat, the more clear you are leading up to this weekend the easier & gentle the process will be.

If possible try not to plan too much following the Retreat. You want to allow time and space for integration after the retreat. It is often nice to have some space for yourself to allow the process of the Retreat to continue as long as possible.

Sanctuary Hill is surrounded by the lush greenery of the Taranaki region. During this retreat you can walk around the property to enjoy the views of Mt. Taranaki, listen to the birds of the region, walk through the orchard, and visit the different areas around the property. If you are feeling more invited to rest back and enjoy the view, you can relax in the various outdoor areas to bask in nature.

New Plymouth is the major city of the Taranaki Region on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand.

Notable features are the botanic gardens (i.e. Pukekura Park), the critically acclaimed Len Lye Centre and Art Gallery, the 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) Coastal Walkway alongside the Tasman Sea, the Len Lye-designed artwork known as the Wind Wand, Paritutu Rock, and views of Mount Taranaki/Egmont.
