Sanctuary Hill provides shared accommodation, with two or three guest per room. The maximum number for the groups are 10 guests.

The modern luxury bedrooms are equipped with 100% cotton linen ant towels. They also have an option for couples to be accommodated in a king size bedroom.

Sanctuary Hill invites the guests to unwind: take a walk, explore the property, read a book from the library, journal, connect with nature and wildlife, and relax in the hot tub.

Program

Yoga

All activities in the program are included and the opportunity to attend all of the yoga and meditation sessions. The schedule is designed to include two yoga classes a day, apart from Friday which will only include one yoga class after your arrival. Morning classes are intended to be with more movement to start that day and warm up. The evening classes are a Restorative style to prepare you for a good night sleep. They specialize on traditional Hatha and Restorative styles. Beginners to yoga will get an introduction to yoga postures, breathing practices, and relaxation techniques; while the more experienced will be guided in how to deepen their practice.

They feel dedicated to your personal evolution. The team of wellness experts provides workshops and education to help you achieve your health related goals. The guest speakers and lifestyle mentors support deep inner work to facilitate lasting and real change on your mindset and perspective toward healthy living. Learn more about quality sleep, stress management, healthy eating habits and food choices to take home knowledge that sustains your well-being.

Workshops

Are you interested in diving deeper into your yoga practice? Essentially, understanding the 8 limbs of yoga can add depth and meaning to your yoga practice. The lessons you learn from Patanjali and the Yoga Sutras help you to take yoga off the mat and into your everyday lives. Here, you are encouraged and reminded to live authentically and to live a life with compassion unto yourselves and others.

You will enjoy a sound healing evening session on Saturday. The crystal ‘singing’ bowl is made of quartz and the effect upon the body and consciousness of the individual is tremendous. Crystal sound baths help to facilitate a shift in your brain waves so that a deep state of meditation and internal healing can occur. Crystal sound therapy is just one way of achieving a meditative state without having to master the practice of meditation. This experience is perfect for beginners however those more experienced can reach a theta state (deep meditation) or even a delta state (where internal healing can occur).

Walking trails

Sanctuary Hill provides group transportation to enjoy time in nature in a guided group walks in the surrounding areas of Taranaki. Weather permitting, the Saturday walk will be a forest area where the trail is slightly steep in some areas. This walk will have a duration along 90 minutes. Suggested things to bring are hiking shoes, small pack, and water bottle.

Notable features are the botanic gardens (i.e. Pukekura Park), the critically acclaimed Len Lye Centre and Art Gallery, the 11 kilometers (6.8 miles) Coastal Walkway alongside the Tasman Sea, the Len Lye-designed artwork known as the Wind Wand, Paritutu Rock, and views of Mount Taranaki/Egmont.
