Certification

  • Students who complete the training are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
  • Yoga teacher training and assessment - The entire Yoga Teacher Training is the assessment of the students at all levels. However, there will be one practical and written test. Successful students in these tests will be conferred upon the Teacher Training Certificate.
  • The most important aspect of this course is that it brings an individual into a state of body, mind, emotion, and energy which opens the door to other branches of Yoga such as Kriya and Kundalini Yoga. In a broader way, this course is one of the gateways to Kundalini Yoga and Kriya Yoga for spiritual evolution.
  • The course lets one know what lies further beyond and allows one to gain more experience to be not only a more experienced and knowledgeable Yoga teacher but also a sincere Yoga individual.
  • At the successful completion of the course, an aspirant will be conferred upon a certificate indicating that the aspirant is qualified to impart the techniques in which he or she has been trained.

Course eligibility

The course is open to everyone however underwritten are relevant, such as medical fitness, physical, as well as mental. In cases otherwise, we must be detailed the individual limitation along with the medical report.

Course Information/ Syllabus

1. Techniques, Training, and Practice

It incorporates several practices of Hatha yoga which students will study in the yoga teacher training course. They are:

  • Asana - Hatha yoga series of the various asana from standing, supine, prone - (backward, forward, spine twist), inversion, balance and advanced asanas for greater experiences.
  • Pranayama - Pre-reminding the techniques for correction of breath, breathing to heal and energise, breathing to balance, breathing to cool and harmonise. Altogether 12 classical Pranayama to be experienced.
  • Mudra - Specific, selected and important gesture to affect the energy in the body.
  • Bandha - Four important locks to block the flow of energy in the body.
  • Shat-karma - Purificatory practices in yoga (nasal cleansing with water and rubber catheter and vomiting).
  • Meditation - Mind management with work on breath, senses and thought, different methods of sense control, concentration, classical meditation and yoga Nidra.

2. Teaching Methodology

This is a combination of complex topics such as designing yoga classes, how to teach different practices of yoga, how to be a good Yoga teacher, ethical guidelines, developing communication skills, time management, principles of demonstration, assistance, awareness, correction, styles of teaching, specific needs of individuals in a Yoga class and business aspects of Yoga teaching etc.

3. Anatomy and Physiology

Modern Human Anatomy and Physiology (nervous system, cardiovascular system, digestive system, reproductive system and endocrine system), human anatomy and physiology (discussion on composition of the human body according to yoga and their relation to the study of the human body in the modern study). Discussion on 3 bodies, 5 elements, 5 Koshas, Nadis, Chakra and Kundalini, holistic approach of yoga (learning how the system of yoga needs to be incorporated to affect the internal organs for the substantial experience of internal and external peace and harmony).

4. Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers

Overview of the description of the term philosophy, yoga, Vedas, Samkhya Philosophy, Hinduism - a way of living, a true sense of the term “religion”, a little reflection on the life story of great Gurus of different parts of the world, yogic lifestyle, ethics for a yoga teacher, ethical guidelines as an individual and as a yoga teacher, yoga Sutra of Patanjali full study, education of Hatha yoga as a means to enter into other branches of Yoga such Raja, Kriya, Kundalini and so on.

5. Practicum

The practice of teaching different practices in groups as the lead instructor, observing and assisting while others are teaching, focusing on specific practices and compiling feedback etc.

6. Karma yoga

During the course, individuals undergo experiences that require those to be assimilated within for which Karma yoga is the best means. Depending upon the requirements we may incorporate this as well.

The daily schedule for 300 Hours Traditional Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Course in Rishikesh India is tentative and subject to change according to need. All classes are held for 6 days in a week.

Retreat location

The retreat will take place at Tapovan, Rishikesh, it is a very ancient city in the Uttarakhand state of India.

There are nearby places such as Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Ganga Beaches, Sivananda Ashram, Parmarth Niketan for Ganga Aarti. Students can go and visit many shops, bookstalls, astrologers, priests, etc. between Laxman and Ram Jhula.

Food

You will be served Sattvik (suitable for yoga) vegetarian North Indian food. Alcohol, drugs, or any kind of intoxicant is strictly forbidden. Non-vegetarian food is also not recommended during the course.

Drinking water

Sanatana Yoga Sandesh provides filtered water for drinking purposes. Bring a water bottle with you. The weather in Rishikesh in summer is normally hot so you need to drink plenty of water. On average, you need to consume 3 to 4 litres of water every day. In the class also, you need to bring your filled water bottle.

General food info and food timings

  • 06:30 - 07:00 Herbal tea or lemon, healthy drink, honey mixed with plain water before the class starts
  • 08:30 - 09:30 Breakfast
  • 13:00 - 14:00 Lunch: This food is your main meal so feel free to eat as much as you can easily digest. At this time, you will be served rice varieties, chapatti (Indian bread), lentils (daal / sambar), salad, vegetable curries, and a dessert on certain occasions
  • 18:30 - 19:30 Dinner: The meal includes rice varieties, chapatti (Indian bread), dosa, lentils, vegetable dish, salad, herbal hot drinks, and occasional deserts

These food timings and food are a general idea and are tentative. There can be substantial changes according to the need. Sanatana Yoga Sandesh provides food / kinds of food and arranges the timings of the food from the yoga course point of view.

According to the yogic principle, there must be at least 3 hours gap between meal and yoga practices. At the same time a light stomach is also required for the afternoon classes. If you need to have something in between you can keep something healthy with you always. Rishikesh has many shops from where you can buy many healthy foodstuffs. But make sure that your stomach is empty before you are doing asana and pranayama classes.

After the course, you can enjoy tours to different places of North India such as Delhi, Agra, Mathura, Vrindavan, Pushkar, Dharamshala and Himanchal etc.
