With its breathtaking view of Rayol Bay and the Hyères islands, Villa Ataeva welcomes you in a magnificent natural setting with its 180-degree view of the sea and a 15-minute walk from the first of the many beaches in the region.

You will be accommodated in shared rooms (two to three people) with shared bathrooms.

How the training works

This is a hybrid yoga teacher training with the first 2 weeks done in-person and followed by 3 weeks of online training. For the online training, you will be provided with 21 Zoom live sessions and recorded videos/webinars (6 classes online/weeks, plus 7 hours of personal coaching by video conference).

For the online training portion, you need to download and install Zoom.

The Zoom live sessions will take place from a time that you will choose together later on. Each session is 1.5 hours long. Please note that all times are based on France's timezone/CEST/GMT+2 and GMT+1 for sessions after October 26, 2024.

Residential training

Typical Day

  • 05:45 Morning drink of your choice (herbal teas/lemon ginger water and yogic rejuvenation preparations)
  • 06:00 Warm up, Hatha kriyas (cleansing and pranayama of Hatha yoga)
  • 06:30 Relaxation and meditation (according to the sunrise schedule)
  • 07:00 Drinks, fruit. Preparation of nutritious smoothies to restore after the following practice
  • 07:30 Sun Salutation
  • 08:00 Descent to the beach (on foot or free shuttle) and Aqua yoga or Paddle yoga
  • 10:00 Ascent from the beach (on foot or free shuttle)
  • 10:30 Breathwork - Pranayama of Hatha yoga/Bala yoga/Golden Embryo
  • 11:30 Ayurveda/theory and practical learning (common meal preparation according to the principles of Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine)
  • 12:45 Lunch followed by a moment of rest
  • 14:30 Satsang (theory on yoga 30 minutes - break of 15 minutes, questions/answers 30 minutes)
  • 15:45 Drinks, juices, herbal teas
  • 16:00 Descent to the beach for a paddle, trekking, or swimming
  • 17:30 Ascent from the beach and Hatha yoga practice
  • 18:30 Ayurveda / theory and practical learning (meal preparation)
  • Meditation practice scheduled at sunset time
  • 19:30 Dinner
  • 20:30 Sacred chanting/sound yoga, Satsang (discussion on yoga theory), meditation (Golden Embryo/Jnana yoga), and yoga Nidra (the practice of conscious dreaming)

Here is an example of a typical day during the first week of training, where you put the emphasis on the physical aspect (Hatha yoga and its variants, including Ashtanga/Vinyasa and Bala yoga). In the following weeks, you go deeper into the energetic (Kundalini yoga and triple internal energy: chakras and nadis of the subtle body) and Jnana yoga and contemplative approaches aspects. You thus evolve gradually following the harmonious structure of the Mandala, which gives the basis of the training program.

Excursions, trekking and meditative walks, paddle outings, and visits to sites, villages, and beaches, are planned during this training.

Course information, Curriculum

General content

The YTT program is designed as a mandala of practices. In this way, you can approach and deepen each aspect of the Way of Yoga in a complete course, following a gradual and harmonious progression. You are simply starting at the beginning; you first lay a good foundation, then you develop!

Thus, one week after another, you will alternately emphasize the physical (Hatha), energetic (Kundalini), and contemplative (Jnana) aspects of yoga. On the other hand, the program for each day is balanced and also focuses on these different aspects.

In general, Sana Yoga approaches its YTT training from the perspective of Integral yoga, which includes the three main aspects of traditional practice:

  • Hatha yoga (the Way of the Body approached in different styles, including Bala yoga which is a specificity of Sana yoga)
  • Kriya Kundalini yoga (the Way of Energy, approached under several traditional approaches)
  • Jnana yoga (the Way of Contemplation of essential Nature, or the practice of mindfulness approached under several traditional approaches)

All other aspects of yoga are contained in these three fundamental yogas, and are therefore naturally transmitted (with their theoretical and practical aspects) in the ITT Sana Yoga training! They teach them from the perspective of Raja yoga (Integral yoga, developing the three aspects of the body, energy, and spirituality in a harmonious and balanced way).

On the other hand, they also train teachers in the Golden Embryo method, another specificity of Sana yoga. Golden Embryo is an integral yogic practice and a path of complete realization in itself; they are happy to integrate it into the ITT training courses so that you can practice it and pass it on!

Extra course

The training is also accompanied by extra courses on topics related to yoga:

  • Yoga and Ayurveda (massages, oils, diet, and practices adapted to the doshas, phytotherapy, knowledge of the nadis, etc.)
  • Yoga and MTC (diet adapted to the constitution, herbal medicine, knowledge of the meridians, principles of moxatherapy, etc.)
  • Yoga and Litho-energetics (lithotherapy, treatments with stones and crystals, energy balancing, anchoring, meridian/chakras system, etc.)
  • Yoga and Dance (when dance becomes yoga and yoga become dance)
  • Yoga and Mandala (study of the notion of mandala in relation to yoga)
  • “Yoga”: the Union of the Sacred Feminine and Masculine (understanding our Yin and Yang polarities on the spiritual, energetic and physical levels. How yoga allows them to be harmonized and reintegrated into a non-dual relationship)
  • Yoga and Tantra (they share the traditional perspective of the vehicle of transformation and sublimation of energy. Originally Tantra aims at the reintegration of natural and vital dynamism in the contemplation of non-dual Nature)
  • Yoga and Energy Healing (channeling of healing energy, electromagnetism, distance healing, etc.)

Other specificities

  • Basic theory and practice of Ayurveda (study of the doshas, Ayurvedic diet, and massage)
  • TCM theory and advice (basic principles, diet, study of the energy field, and Phyto advice according to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine)

Online training

The online part of the training will be held for 2 weeks after the in-person training. Sana Yoga is located in France (CEST/GMT+2) and will live stream classes via Zoom according to GMT+2 during summer and GMT+1 for sessions after October 26, 2024, that you can participate in from the comfort of your home.

Residential training

Rayol-Canadel-sur-mer is a small village between Le Lavandou and Cavalaire-sur-mer where it is possible to see lush and diversified vegetation (with its famous botanical park 'Jardin des Méditerranées'). You can find all the basic shops there, as well as restaurants.

All shops are available within walking distance. The coming has a beautiful sea view and you will get to experience a nice walk to go to the sunset and sunrise spots.

It has nice vegetation around and is only a 15-minute walk to the beach. The unknown beaches of this region of the French Riviera, with its calm waters (in the morning in summer/autumn) are ideal for the practice of yoga and paddle yoga.

Food

During the residential training, you will be provided with some Ayurvedic diet and other healthy meals. The cuisine offered is rich in all the elements necessary for the body.

Ayurvedic food has been shown to have benefits in healing processes and the regeneration of vital energy. The food will be 90% organic.

You might also go and eat sometimes at the restaurant (depending on group consent). The meals at the restaurants will be at an additional cost.
