Are you ready to experience the real island life? Sleep under the stars while camping on our own private island? All the sumptuous meals will be prepared by their boat crew throughout the journey.

Hide all

You will camp out in less crowded places - Tapiutan Island and the nice Ipil Beach for the first two nights. The rest of your stay will be in a family-run resort on Caalan Beach, the quieter end of the El Nido, with majestic views of Cadlao Island. Rooms will be on a twin sharing basis.

Beach clean up seva

As a way of expressing gratitude to mother earth, you will perform the karma yoga and seva (selfless service) by dedicating a day of hopping from one beautiful island to another to enjoy its clear water and white sand beaches while collecting rubbish along the way. Part of the revenue from this safari will be shared with the local community who are involved in its operation and sending children to school through scholarship grants.

Daily yoga sessions

You can do as little and as much as you like. You also do not have to do any yoga at all. Various styles of yoga styles will be offered throughout, either a flowing Vinyasa sequence to wake you up before breakfast, or a Restorative or Yin yoga at sunset to cap the day. Guided pranayama and meditation to complement your practice. All levels and abilities are welcome. Yoga sessions will take place where there is space.

  • Day 1: Arrival in El Nido
  • Day 2: Beach clean up
  • Day 3 to 5: Island safari
  • Day 6: Free day
  • Day 7: Tour end

This journey is not for everyone. Before applying to take part in this safari, you must understand that what Samyama Yoga offers is not a luxurious yoga holiday. This is a journey to the remote islands in El Nido. They do not guarantee that you will have a nice relaxing time. In fact, they do not guarantee anything.

There might be bad weather and there might be rough waves. You will have limited privacy. Some of the things you will experience might include barking dogs, crowing roosters, mosquito bites, jellyfish stings, sunburn; but that is the nature of an island experience, the unexpected, the unknown, stepping outside your comfort zone.

An island safari is included in the price. The safari will be around the Bacuit Bay. You will go around the most renowned sights during the times when there will be less tourists - the lagoons, as well as hidden and secret beaches. You will camp out in less crowded places - Tapiutan Island and the nice Ipil Beach. You can also go to more remote islands depending on the schedule for the day and what the group is looking for. You will be going deeper into Bacuit Bay to avoid the crowds.

CONS Cons: Wished for one more day in Cayo Santa Maria....heaven on earth!

PROS Pros: The cultural retreat provided a wonderful overview of the country, and I chance to really experience the culture, due to staying at the Casa Particulars. The yoga practice was perfect. I am a beginner's beginner, and the level was perfect. Patricia Olabre was an absolutely awesome instructor.

"The Samyama Yoga tour of Burma (Myanmar) was quite simply, extraordinary."

"Patricia Olabre, our lovely, gentle leader, ensured we were well cared for and also ran regular yoga sessions of different styles. I can’t speak highly enough of Patricia – she was always 100% organised, always there to offer support and ran classes to suit every age and ability."

"There were no hitches during the trip at all and the group got on like old friends."

"Burma is amazing – there was so much to do and see; we flopped into bed happily exhausted at the end of each day. If you are keen to see interesting places and keep up with your yoga practice – this is the perfect solution. Look out for more tours with Patricia during 2017.", edited

"The yoga was as usual very good, demanding but with the option to take an easier option. I found the meditation was not too long except when I was sitting on the chair. I liked the structure of the weekend and generally the ethos of quiet, ease and silence." website, edited

"Two weeks of yoga holiday with Patricia in Philippines was one of my best yoga holidays so far. The three days of island hopping was full of fun with lots of swimming and kayaking in the clear blue South China Sea. We were on the go all the time watching sunset one evening and having dinner on the beach front. Never a dull moment .Patricia is a wonderful and a very caring yoga teacher and a tour organizer. Patricia always made sure we have plenty of food and she had brought us to some fantastic restaurants. This is a holiday whereby yoga is not the main focus compared to a yoga retreat. Thanks Patricia for inviting me to your beautiful country with such beautiful people that serve us with an open heart and smile." website, edited

"Cuba for me was an amazing experience. An eye opener to a dignified, hospitable and generous people despite the lack of resources they/ we at times had to manage without like soap, light bulbs, toilet seats. It is not a real problem for us to manage with less services than you might expect; its part of an authentic introduction to a country that is so locked into its socio - economic /political reality. Yoga with Pat I always find to be a special experience, translated onto the rooftop of Havana, the surreal beauty of the beach at Cayo Levisa, I'm speechless. The wonderful fresh food and yoga provided the grounding for what was at times a pressing travel schedule. The outstanding highlights were the visit to Che Memorial and Buena Vista Social Club, not to mention the rickshaw ride there - i will remember that as long as I live. The salsa classes were brilliant fun/ learning, a new passion in the making. I cannot thank you enough Pat for your guidance and commitment into this beautiful eclectic world of yoga and travel."

"I had a fantastic time in Cuba. It was well organised. There was no hiccup. The guides are good and well informed. The warm and balmy night at the Hotel Nacional was not to be missed. The last night at Buena Vista was a good wrap up altogether with the classic Cuban salsa music. Oh the salsa classes were enjoyable. It was lovely. Patricia is a very good teacher and she corrects our pose when it is incorrect and she has the patience to teach. I really loved the yoga session by the beach at Cayo Levisa when the sun was about to set. Of places of interest, they were all nice and memorable, each has it own charm. Vinales has beautiful views of mountains and fields, Cayo Levisa has beautiful and warm waters and clean beaches and Trinidad has lovely live music everywhere and not forgetting Havana, the beautiful old vintage American cars. On the whole, I would really love to go back again."
