Turtle Cove was first established in 1994 by avid surfer, Nic Tasioulas, who boldly settled in Tofo, Mozambique in those early days. Today, Turtle Cove remains legendary and after an extraordinary revamp, the lodge offers an exotic ambiance amidst the palm gardens. Built in a striking blend of Mozambican, Mali, and West African architecture, Turtle Cove exudes a charming and warm welcome to travelers seeking the perfect accommodation choice in Tofo.
The lodge comfortably accommodates 22 guests in seven double or twin chalets and two family units (each sleeping four guests comfortably). All rooms are en-suite and consist of double or twin beds, mosquito nets, and bed linen. The rooms are serviced by municipal power and each has three-point 220V power point with two-point adaptors. Rooms are serviced daily upon request. For backpackers and travelers on a budget, Turtle Cove offers the option of camping in a large shaded area with braai areas as well as dormitory rooms.
The Turtle Cove will welcome you and you will share the space in different lodges so very easy to come with a friend, husbands on your own too. It is going to be a mix of people from around the world as well from various backgrounds which will make it very interesting to share each one's experiences too.
You will share a Qigong morning class and then a full yoga practice of two hours in the morning to activate the breathing system and to turn your energies up to embrace the day before breakfast. In the afternoon, it will be a combo of workshops about pranayama, breathing, postures, alignments, chakras, and life coaching. However, you will also have some free time to either dive, surf, or just enjoy your holidays.
You can go together for a drink and appreciate the nice social life of Tojo in Mozambique. It is going to be a life change yoga retreat as you are coming to share the Samasthiti life.
Founder of Samasthiti House of Yoga, Caroline Rossy is a yoga teacher that allies discipline, alignment, energy, and fun with grace and experience. She has certified 500-hour teacher training American Yoga Alliance trained in New York city. She has been teaching for the last 20 years all together whether they are ballet, massage, and yoga and teaching is her mission in this life.
Camilla Salhin has studied Iyengar yoga since 2003. She was looking to improve her postures and the strength of her body, she then found the Pilates technique based on toning up the entire deep muscles chains structure. She is certificated on mats and the Pilates machines by Balanced Body University and has been trained by Kelly Moriarty, Martine Curtis, and Gregory Guillou-Montean from Pilates A-Lyne in Paris.

Freshly caught fishes and prawns are superbly prepared together with local specialties, vegetarian specials, as well as popular sushi evenings. Dinner time is a relaxed affair where guests gather around the bar for sundowners to talk about the highlights of the day and typically viewing some surf footage of the surf taking off at Tofinho point. On occasions, there would be live music around the fire after dinner.
During your free time, you can pamper yourself, restore your balance, and release all tension and stress through Lomi Lomi Hawaiian massage.
Please book your flight to arrive at Inhambane Airport (INH). Transfer from the airport is included. Samasthiti House of Yoga will pick you up from the airport.
The local busses from Maputo to Inhambane operate daily. Make sure to take the express bus service that departs Maputo at 7 a.m. and arrives in Inhambane around 2.30 p.m. You need to buy your ticket at the bus station from 5 a.m. in the morning to make sure you get a seat. From Inhambane bus station, take a chappa (similar to a minibus) to Tofo. Call Samasthiti House of Yoga on arrival in Tofo and they will pick you up to transfer you to Turtle Cove or ask the driver to drop you off at Turtle Cove.
