A private beach getaway to the relaxing island of Kythnos. Enjoy fresh, local cuisine, daily yoga, and meditation, moon rituals, and intention setting, and more. A family-owned retreat center, Kastellas provides the quintessential Greece experience: big Mediterranean feasts and sharing of ideas, dancing, and dreams. The retreat center is nestled into the cliffside overlooking the pristine, clear waters of the Aegean Sea.
Kastella is made up of various villas, each house up to 6 people. Accommodations are shared (bring a friend), with 3 bedrooms total, and a small kitchen/common area in each. Rest assured, your meals will be provided (2/day) and are locally sourced - no cooking required!
If you are traveling with someone and would like to be paired together, let Samantha Stuber Yoga know!
Kat and Samantha like to give their participants options with how they retreat. For some, retreats are best filled with activities, tourism, culture, and practice. For others, time to rest and rejuvenate is ideal. We try to find a balance between the two by planning meals, practices, and activities at the beginning and end of the day, leaving you to enjoy your time how you like.
The Kastellas’ style is a perfect blend between modern European aesthetic and down-to-earth comfort. The retreat center is complete with a private infinity swimming pool, on-site massage and healing sessions, a chef and bar/restaurant, and a beautiful yoga shala. The inviting staff will take care of every detail when it comes to welcoming you - you’ll feel like part of the family.
Experience and enjoy daily yoga and meditation offerings in the outdoor shala overlooking the Aegean Sea, and gather for group sunrise & sunsets. The tranquility of the space sets a tone of relaxation and beauty for each day that is truly idyllic.
In addition to our very own private beach, the island of Kythnos has 92 beaches, 2 thermal springs nearby, and several historic towns and caves to explore. Venture out on hiking trails, take diving lessons, kayak, snorkel, or simply lay on the pristine beaches with a good book.
Want to try something new? Schedule a class with a local beekeeper to make your own honey, or perhaps learn to cook local pies. Need to indulge your creativity? Organize a pottery workshop to hone your craft.
Crystal-clear water, empty beaches, ancient remnants, the islands’ mystic energy, Greek coffee, and fresh pie, long walks, and the perfect tan, all add up to your true Kythnian experience.
Two evenings during the week, you will have a ceremony/ritual around intention setting, letting go, and integration. Samantha Stuber Yoga has a guest astrologer who will be helping facilitate these, and will also be offering tarot, birth chart readings, and more!
Kat and Samantha have included 1 massage on them, so you'll book that and schedule it into your stay at your leisure.
Samantha first discovered yoga just after high school and has been a dedicated student ever since. Initially, her enthusiasm for the practice stemmed from the physical benefits. Her passion for inward exploration and growth inspired her to continue diving deeper and to keep coming back to the practice. Samantha completed her 200-hour with Meta Yoga Schools in 2018 in Breckenridge, Colorado. She brings a deep knowledge of asana, philosophy, mythology, and Sanskrit from her training, to her students. As a therapist, Samantha creates an open space for our community to dig deeper.
Kat is a passionate yogi and wellness blogger with a thirst for adventure and seeking "the good stuff” in life. After leaving a demanding corporate marketing job to pursue teaching full time, she found a completely new outlook on life and understands the stress and sensory-overload her students face on a daily basis all too well. Kat’s goal is to create a safe and inviting space for people to let go and reconnect to their authentic selves. Her classes offer a unique style of playfulness, exploration and motivation that inspire her students to take their practice to the next level.
Kythnos is a quiet and peaceful island in the Greek Cyclades. The drier climate and the seaside location provide the ideal environment for all things outdoor - whether that be relaxing by the pool or beach, or practicing yoga.
Locals have given the island the name "Thermia" for the numerous natural hot springs. Venture to one of those, explore the vast cliffside, partake in honey-making or cooking classes, relax by the pool, or venture into the nearby town for a fresh coffee or meal.
Enjoy 2 locally-sourced meals per day. In traditional Greek fashion, you will enjoy brunch and dinner daily as you gather together overlooking the sea. The Kastellas staff are passionate about food. Their head chef, along with their dedicated team, has created a menu that’s clearly the Mediterranean, yet has a modern and even healthier twist.
At Kastellas, it’s all about freedom of choice. You’ll always find healthy vegetarian options, as well as indulgent meat and fish dishes that are all made with love and the freshest ingredients. Enjoy the cuisine of “emotions” based on traditional Greek flavors homemade cheese, bread and cakes, herbs and vegetables, all from Kythnos local producers. Venture into nearby towns to enjoy a fresh coffee or a homemade slice of pie.

Vacations on an enchanting Mediterranean island evoke a sense of calm and tranquility all on their own, but why stop there?
Experience the essence of relaxation with the most exceptional massage therapies. Spoil yourself in the capable hands of Kastellas healers and unwind sea-side.
Your retreat tuition includes one massage on Samantha Stuber Yoga! Listen to the waves crash as you enjoy spa treatments onsite.
