Hammock Garden Room

With a super king bed or two kings and private hammock garden this is a great room for couples looking to relax. Air Conditioning allows a break from the heat of the day and is perfect for afternoon siestas. Topped off with a spacious jungle view bathroom, this room is all about relaxation.

Family Garden Room

A ground floor Air Conditioned room featuring a super king or two kings and additional single bed; Perfect for a small family booking. An additional single bed can be added allowing the room to sleep four people. A small patio with lounge allows for relaxation in the outdoors. Small children can play in the protection of the gardens whilst parents are in the room.

Palm Garden Room

This ground floor room features a super king bed which can be split to create a double room if needed. A courtyard area provides space to read and relax in the privacy of your own surrounds. The room is Air Conditioned for those looking to escape the heat in the middle of the day or for a more comfortable night’s sleep. A writing desk is provided for those who may need to catch up on some work whilst they are away.

Open Palm Room

With spanning views of the adjacent coconut palms, waking up in the open palm room is about as close to island paradise as you could imagine. A four post king sized bed with mosquito protection is perfectly designed to capture the night’s breeze. This open planned room has drop down bamboo blinds for additional privacy if needed. A large indoor/outdoor bathroom gives you the feeling of bathing in the tree tops. A/C included!

Open Yoga Room

Salt’s most popular first floor room is open planned with drop down bamboo blinds. An afternoon sitting on the shaded patio lounge watching the wild life is a simple pleasure. A four post king bed with mosquito protection allows the breeze to pass through and gives a real sense of sleeping in the outdoors. The room has space enough to roll out your yoga mat for practice or meditation.

Open Jungle Room

This first floor open plan room faces north and is tucked away from the morning sun. A mirror image of the Yoga Room featuring a four post king bed and patio with lounge.

Double Bunks

Two twin beds as bunks with shared lounge area and open air bathroom. Direct access to rooftop patio!

Salt House Yoga Retreat Sri Lanka Program

The retreat is designed to recalibrate and bring balance to your energies by harmonizing the Yin and Yang aspects of your being and the life you’re living. Through the practice of yoga, breath, and mindfulness meditation, you will bring awareness to your physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies. You will strip away the layers and take notice of your habitual thoughts, behavioral patterns, and stories you tell yourselves. This provides the energetic foundation to create balance and alignment with your truest, whole, and most authentic self.

You will allow yourself to step away from where you are at this point in your life, physically, mentally, and emotionally. You will begin each morning with an energizing asana practice then all sit together for breakfast and teas. Midday is free for you to walk or swim the beaches, go surfing, or hang out in the chill area or your amazing accommodation. Lunch will be served mid-day and you work excursions around this.

You will have an excursion to a holy temple and an onsite cooking lesson on traditional Sri Lankan meals. Meditation practice, Pranayama and a warming Yang practice begin the day and the evening settles with a balancing Yin practice and meditation. Kacy and Selina aim to make the program flexible as this is your time away to recharge, rebalance, and reconnect with your inner self. On your final day, you will either all join for breakfast or lunch together then begin departure back to Colombo.

Living Yoga in Concord Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Ashtanga Yoga)
Kacy teaches in Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire, USA and has also had the privilege to teach in India and Sri Lanka which helped her to deepen her roots. During her graduate school studies in the science of integrative health, she began to explore a deep mind-body connection and the remarkable benefits that simple awareness can bring to one’s life. She aims to create an inspiring and open space for exploration where students can face their edge with compassion and rid expectation. She invites her students to move, laugh, reconnect, but more importantly to find a home within themselves.
Selina Berni
Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Yoga)
Selina is a Swiss born travelling Yogi and Nutritionist. Her journey to being a Yoga Teacher has been in the making for over ten years. In recent years she has been teaching at retreats and yoga schools in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bali which has helped to confirm her dream to inspire people all over the world. During a class Selina tunes into the energy of the group to offer the most nourishing and balancing yoga practice. A flow of movement and breath that is challenging, soothing, calming, fun, strengthening, empowering and nourishing to leave you peacefully connected with your Self.

Retreat location

This recently discovered bay is described by all who visit as "paradise". Hiriketiya bay is without a doubt the premier beach of south Sri Lanka. Away from the commercialized tourist zones, Hiriketiya bay feels like home away from home. Nearby undiscovered bays make the far south coast a hidden gem of swimming, walking, and biking trails. Prevailing easterly and westerly winds are kept away by the horse shoe shape of the bay, making swimming and surfing conditions all year round. During shoulder season August-December the waves are at their best after a slight drop in midyear swell size creating a clean beach and left point break.

Salt House features eight rooms, all which keep you in touch with nature from ground floor air conditioned to first and second floor open plan rooms. All feature private patios and open air jungle view bathrooms. Access to the rooftop lounge area and balcony is available to all guests and friends. The elevated open air jungle view shala accommodates twenty students and lifts you into the treetops of the surrounding jungle. Experience the bliss of yoga in this beautiful environment.

The retreat will be offering wholesome and nourishing vegan food, organically sourced where possible and inspired by traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. The retreat food is designed to allow your body to feel light and nourished equally. It includes only the cleanest natural plant-based ingredients. There will be plenty of gluten-free options as well and if you want fish we can accommodate. Please let Kacy and Selina know if you have any other dietary requirements and they will try to accommodate those.

Coffee and tea are included with breakfast but there is the awesome café open all day for your latte desires!

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Salt House Yoga Retreat will pick you up from the airport.

From there, Salt House will organize two slots of organized transport to the retreat center. Please communicate your flight details in order for them to coordinate the pick-up and drop-off.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
