Accommodations are at The RipJack Inn in Playa Grande, Costa Rica. You will be sleeping in individual beds in either shared double or triple rooms. The hotel offers 21 guest rooms in bungalows and suites.
There are six standard rooms that are located in the main building with a small patio and hammock hanging out front and that's great to lounge in. The rooms have one queen size bed, one single bed, and a completely remodeled bathroom.
There are 12 deluxe rooms throughout the property. You can choose from one king size bed, two double beds, or one queen and single bed. Deluxe rooms offer more space and finer amenities than our basic standard rooms. They are great for couples or families traveling with children.
This new deluxe room is located pool side next to the suites. It has one king size bed and a patio just like our suites. It is perfect for couples.
The bungalow has two queen size beds in a room that is separated by French doors. The front room has a leather sofa that can be used as a third bed and a lazy boy recliner. The bathroom is brand new and has an open spa type shower with smooth river rocks on the floor to gently massage your feet after a day at the beach.
There are two large family suites at the the hotel. Both have one large bedroom and a large living room with kitchenette. Each room has a flat screen cable television, air conditioning unit, and ceiling fan. These rooms were designed with families in mind who like to prepare snacks in the room. Each suite has a nice patio that overlooks one or the two swimming pools.
Sadhana Yoga School will journey to Playa Grande in Costa Rica where you will live and immerse yourself into the teachings of yoga for 21 days. Costa Rica is an adventurer's paradise, offering a wide array of activities and sites to explore and enjoy on days off. The RipJack Inn offers surfing, diving, sailing, and snorkeling, as well as beautiful beaches and a great restaurant.
With Sadhana Yoga School you will delve deeper into the practices of yoga and learn to integrate yoga as a lifestyle while enjoying all of the bounties this area has to offer. The course will cover chanting, meditation, pranayama, and asana, in addition to yogic philosophy, physical and energetic anatomy, ethics, and the business of yoga. Cleansing practices of kriyas will be incorporated throughout the program, including fasting and silence.
Sadhana yoga means yoga as a spiritual practice. Two variations of asana practice are offered that are a blend of various traditions. The Vinyasa flow practice is derived mainly from Ashtanga yoga and is a fast-paced flow.
The second is a Hatha practice derived from Sivananda tradition, which is more meditative with longer held poses. Both sequences together provide you with a great foundation to build any type of yoga class upon. After graduation, you will receive a 200-hour yoga teacher certificate, will be able to register with Yoga Alliance, and teach anywhere in the world.
You will begin the day with chanting, breathing practices, and meditation, followed by an asana class. You will then have a break for brunch and karma yoga. The afternoon will be composed of a light lunch, lectures, and teaching workshops. You will share family style vegetarian dinner and end the day with satsang, a community gathering.
At Jiwa Damai, you will share nutritious and organic Balinese meals family style, you will meditate together in the gardens, practice yoga together in an open air lounge, engage in meaningful philosophical discussion in a conscious way, allowing you to explore the depth of mind and emotion, and you will explore the physical and energetic bodies, finding ways to connect your inner and outer world. By incorporating yoga in its totality, you will learn to teach through your own daily practice.
This retreat will take place at RipJak Inn in Playa Grande, Costa Rica. The RipJack Inn Hotel offers surfing, yoga, beautiful beaches, and a great restaurant. The hotel has 21 unique rooms from standard to suites.
All meals are included in this retreat and consist of fresh and organic vegetarian food. There will be two main meals and one mid-day snack or light lunch. The open-air restaurant is located on the second floor and offers a unique treetop dining experience. Breakfast is served from 08:00 to 11:00, lunch is served from 11:00 to 17:00, and dinner is served from 17:00 to 21:00.

With 23 platforms and two suspension bridges to get your adrenaline pumping, you can see the Costa Rican jungle like never before. Certified scuba divers can explore the depths of the Pacific by booking a charter to the famous Las Catalinas Islands or other popular sites. Swim among schools of colorful fish, spotted rays, and other invertebrates. Local dive shops offer certification courses that include your very first open water dive.
Climb aboard a local fishermans boat and spend a few hours floating down the Playa Grande estuary. Listen for the howler monkeys in the trees and keep an eye out for caiman floating in the Rio Mata Palo. Should you want explore on your own, rent a kayak and be adventurous.
Guided surf trips take place in Avellanas, Marbella, Playa Negra, Little Hawaii, and other secret spots. These trips are based on availability so book ahead. Private guided surf trips can accommodate anywhere from three to 45 people and include a five hour trip with two to three hours of surf time depending on the destination
The furthest point away is Marbella and takes a little over an hour to get there. With this time frame, you are looking at almost three hours of water time. Door to door transportation is included, as well as a surf guide to help you maximize your wave count, a cooler with ice, water, juice, fresh pineapple, spare wax, spare leashes, and spare fins in case you break your own.
Saddle up and giddy up. See the beautiful terrain of Playa Grande and the adjacent area with a horseback tour. You can book daytime and sunset rides along the neighboring beach Playa Brasalito. Playa Grande beachfront is a protected zone for the Leatherback Turtles, so no horses are allowed.
Playa Grande is famous its Leatherback turtles. Visitors from all over the world come to witness these 800-pound creatures coming ashore and laying their eggs. Guests can take guided tours to see the turtle hatchlings make their way towards the Pacific. Turtle season officially spans October 15 through February 15, though turtles can be spotted all year long off the coast.

Playa Grande is just a short drive to some of the best hiking in all of Costa Rica. Adventurers can pack up their car for the day and make their way to Rincon de la Vieja or Tenorio National Parks. Trek to volcanic craters and secluded waterfalls. Be advised that parks are closed on Mondays.
Book your charter with the most experienced captains on the coast. Guests can choose from either a full or half day sport fishing charter out in the open Pacific. Troll for sailfish, yellow fin tuna, dorado, snapper, and more. Playa Grande visitors must drive to Tamarindo and Playa Flamingo to catch the boats.
Set off in the early afternoon on a beautiful catamaran into the deep blue sea. Spend the day sailing, snorkeling, and eating aboard some of the best boats in the Pacific. Explore secluded beaches, islands, and coves and snorkel in some of the best spots around. Equipment is provided and you will have the opportunity to spot colorful fish, turtles, octopus, coral reef and much more.
On the way back, enjoy the sound of live music as you watch the sun sink slowly into the horizon. It is definitely the best seat in town. Food and drinks are provided.
Experienced surfers can hop aboard a chartered boat for a surf adventure like none other. Accessible by boat only, Witchs Rock enjoys endless offshore winds and fast barrels. Ollies Point is a right point-break with rides that seem to last forever.
