Recharge, get motivated and make your yoga practice inspirational! The intention of this yoga retreat is to inspire you to cultivate positive habits that nourish your mind and body leaving you feeling rejuvenated and replenished. Establishing a sustainable yoga practice is about finding out what yoga means to you and creating a self-practice that fits in with your everyday life. Together we will discover how to cultivate positive habits that nourish, nurture, motivate and inspire. If you’re in need of a yoga reset or a place to start, this is the retreat for you!
Accommodation is provided in beautifully furnished 5-metre bell tents. Nestled amongst the lemon and orange groves, the bell tents are simple but sumptuous, with electricity and comfortable beds. Each tent can sleep up to three people. Crisp bed linen and pool towels are provided. There are solar hot and cold powered showers facilities. Internet access is available. There is a small shop on site for all those little essentials you might need.
Emma teaches Vinyasa flow classes that are both naturally dynamic and energetic but also build a strong sense of connection between body and mind by linking each movement to the breath. These classes are for all levels, and Emma will provide modifications and adjustments to suit individual needs. Vinyasa means breath synchronized movement. This style is designed to embody the benefits of an extensive yoga and meditation practice in a relatively short period of time so that people with busy lives can fit in a consistent and meaningful daily practice that is good for both physical and mental wellbeing. Emma designs Vinyasa flow classes in a creative way using music to enhance the mood and feel of the class experience. On the retreat you will experience energizing Vinyasa flow in the morning sessions and a more restorative and Yin yoga approach in the evening. In a restorative class poses are held for longer periods of time often supported so the body and mind can totally relax. Coupled with the magical setting of Rustic Retreats, the experience is truly blissful.
This is a sample timetable and may be subject to change. There will be one workshop a day, it may be in the morning or afternoon. There is also the option to visit local markets on Wednesday and Sunday.
Begin each day with an energizing Vinyasa flow class, linking breath to movement creating a wonderfully meditative practice and end the day bathed in pure relaxation following yin and restorative yoga. The emphasis of this retreat is to create a yoga practice that can be integrated into your everyday life. The physical yoga practice is a great place to build the confidence to move intuitively, listen to your body and start to build the connection between mind, breath and body. Daily workshops running throughout the week will continue to build on this idea as we explore how to create a self-practice and build strength in our practical sessions. We will learn about how we connect with the world and ourselves in a philosophy session and make time for a bit of creative magic in an art workshop. Your week will be filled with accessible teachings that will help you to build and enjoy your practice and find the time to reflect, recharge and relax.
This workshop will include practical advice on how to kick-start your self-practice and tips for staying committed. We will talk about daily obstacles and how to overcome them then jump on our mats to play around with movements and sequences that feel good in our bodies. You will come away with lots of new ideas and things to try when you get home and feel ready to create a home practice that is regular, achievable, fun and inspiring.
There are many benefits to working on creating more openness in the hips. In this workshop Emma will guide you through a delicious hip opening sequence and offer advice about how to adjust poses to promote a safe and nurturing practice. Working on this area can improve circulation, range of motion, improve lower back pain and create an energetic release too. By creating more openness you will see the results in your physical yoga practice, everyday movements, emotional well-being and you may even feel more creative.
The benefits of going upside down or bringing the head below the heart are plentiful. Inversions can stimulate the nervous system, bring more oxygen and blood flow to the brain, boost energy levels and metabolism, engage core muscles, and help with circulation. But, they can also be intimidating and take time to master. In this session we will learn the importance of repetition and building strength over time in a regular practice. We will learn more about how the body works in inversions; identify strengths and what to practice more. In the true spirit of the week we will see this as a time for discovery so wherever you are with your practice it is more about noticing the journey rather than reaching the goal.
All of our sessions and workshops carry a common theme and the most important part of this theme is setting the intention. This may well start before you even arrive at Rustic Retreats so setting aside some time to reflect on how and why we set intentions is a key part of the retreat. We will explore the idea of setting intention from a Buddhist perspective, which shifts the focus from being goal oriented to the present moment. This type of philosophy is practically based and can be used by anyone and for varying situations. This is another great opportunity to take something away and apply it to your everyday life in a way that makes sense to you. We will finish with a meditation to solidify the ideas we discuss and leave you feeling centered and confident.
You will no doubt have an abundance of wonderful memories of your time at Rustic Retreats to take home with you so what better way to capture them than to create a individualized artwork. Even if you don’t consider yourself to be very arty you will have tapped into your ability to create, explore and discover in all the other activities of the week so creating an image will come much more easily by the end of the retreat. Emma will guide you through simple techniques to record your memories in a creative way to produce a fabulous artwork you will be proud to take home.

Stimulate all your senses whilst you absorb the bright colors, beautiful textures, tantalizing flavors, and sublime aromas of the fresh food served at Rustic Retreats. The chef will create a myriad of fresh, healthy vegetarian meals to tantalize your pallet, all using the ripest, freshest, seasonal ingredients that are locally produced either from their very own organic garden and vegetable patch or from the local market and farmers.
Varieties of fruit are growing freely on the site such as lemons, oranges, almonds, pomegranate, and carob to name but a few. All vegetarian meals are lovingly prepared by a trained chef in the outdoor kitchen and are served 'al fresco' whenever possible. All meals are included in the price. The meals have been so popular with the clients that they are looking at producing a recipe book for next season.
