Our accommodation comes in the form of beautiful yet simple well-equipped bell tents, with beds and electricity.

Bell tents

Our beautifully furnished bell tents are simple yet sumptuous. With comfy beds and crisp, fresh linen, it’ll be a luxury glamping experience you’ll never forget! As you lay your head down, let the sweet scent of the nearby lemon and orange groves carry you off to sleep as you doze under the glorious, star-filled sky. A truly blissful way to end your day.

We have 3 levels of accommodation:

​Rest and relaxation

You’ll be spoiled for choice for ways to rest and relax. You could take a dip in our refreshing swimming pool, or lounge lazily in the hammock area while taking in the beautiful views. Why not pull up a sun lounger in our shaded terrace, and enjoy one of our many books or board games? And at the end of your day, after an invigorating workshop, you can head past the almond trees to our lovely wooden meditation cabin, with breathtaking views over the valley.

As a totally off-grid yoga retreat, we have lovely, solar-powered showers, or if you prefer, an amazing outdoor shower block, so you can literally shower under the stars!

Electricity and internet

We provide our guests with an Internet connection , and the bell tents come ready with solar electricity.

Program

Style of yoga to be taught

We will start each day with a dynamic Vinyasa Flow to recharge and energise ourselves body and mind.The asana sequences will be built up step by step through the class with options given so that all abilities and body types are taken care of and everyone can feel fully included.

Our evening practice will be a restorative Yin Flow. A chance to really unwind and let go. In our Yin asana practice we stay in each asana for longer and use props for support. The use of props (blocks and cushions) allows us to stay with asanas for longer without discomfort or stress, this method gives the facia (connective tissue) of the body time to release.

The Yoga practice will be open to all levels. Modifications will be given throughout. We are all so different, physically, mentally and emotionally. You will be encouraged to really listen to what your body needs, and this may change from day to day. You will be encouraged to take the practice at your own pace and nurture your body and mind, at the same time as developing strength and flexibility physically and mentally.

Your Rustic Retreats Journey

Each of us holds magic inside of us: an inner light that can transform our lives and the world around us. But in a society that constantly tells us we are not enough our magic can get hidden and forgotten and as we search for meaning in things outside of ourselves like money or material possessions we can forget that everything we need is already within us.

Spend a week exploring and developing your yoga practice making it right for you so you can feel connected with your inner magic, new friends and your environment.

Workshop 1 - Connect with Your Body

In this first workshop we will set the foundation for the rest of the weeks asana practice. We will explore the asanas commonly found in a vinyasa practice, finding ease and steadiness without stress, struggle or strain. Learn to listen to, accept and love your body.

Workshop 2 - Connect with the Earth (Mindful Walking)

We will walk slowly and mindfully through the beautiful landscape surrounding Bagend as a reminder that we are connected to everything around us. Mindful walking is a great way to connect with your body, your breath and your environment and is a form of meditation easily accessible to those who find sitting still a challenge.

Workshop 3 - Connect with Others

Connect with each other using partner yoga. We will explore some simple asana assists to help each other to get the most from yoga asana and enjoy some fun acro-yoga to build trust, communication and friendships. Partner yoga keeps you in check and allows you to mindfully work through the postures with someone else. No one is “better” than anyone else, for both your strengths and weaknesses should allow you to complete the poses. This is also a mental exercise for teamwork versus focusing purely on yourself.

Workshop 4 - Turning it all up-side-down

Exploring some of the full inversions. Headstands and handstands can feel very scary and even impossible. We are capable of so much more than we realise. Come explore your body and flip your perspective upside-down with an inversion workshop for all levels. The most exciting part of reaching a goal is the journey along the way: overcoming obstacles as you grow in confidence to try new things and have a good old laugh along the way.

Workshop 5 - Sankalpa & Yoga Nidra

A Sankalpa or mantra is an intention we form in our heart and mind, something we want to flavor and guide our lives. In this workshop we will spend time creating a personal Sankalpa and then move into yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a gorgeous practice that guides you into a deep state of relaxation. It is from this space of deep relaxation we bring our Sankalpa and allow it to settle into our deepest being. Wake up feeling refreshed, nourished and aligned with your inner magic.

Food

Stimulate all your senses whilst you absorb the bright colors, beautiful textures, tantalizing flavors, and sublime aromas of the fresh food served at Rustic Retreats. The chef will create a myriad of fresh, healthy vegetarian meals to tantalize your pallet, all using the ripest, freshest, seasonal ingredients that are locally produced either from their very own organic garden and vegetable patch or from the local market and farmers.

Varieties of fruit are growing freely on the site such as lemons, oranges, almonds, pomegranate, and carob to name but a few. All vegetarian meals are lovingly prepared by a trained chef in the outdoor kitchen and are served 'al fresco' whenever possible. All meals are included in the price. The meals have been so popular with the clients that they are looking at producing a recipe book for next season.

Example menu:

  • Start the day with a fruit smoothie or refreshing mint tea.
  • Breakfast baby spinach omelet, cereals, fruit and French toast.
  • Lunch bell pepper frittata, bean and yogurt salad, and pumpkin bread.
  • Evening meal squash and zucchini casserole with wild rice and lemon tart.

Exclusions

All day snack menu is available but cost is not included in the price. Alcohol is available at a small extra charge.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Fly into to Alicante, then it's a 2-hour train journey (6 EUR) through the beautiful Spanish countryside down to Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you.

Alternatively, fly into Corvera Airport Murcia (RMU). There is a bus transfer (costs 6 EUR), and it takes 25 minutes to Murcia train station. You can also get a taxi or hire a car (40 minutes by car to Totana). Train to Totana takes 40 minutes and costs approximately 3.75 EUR.

Arrival by train

  • Arrive at Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you.

Arrival by taxi

  • You can get a taxi from the airport which would cost 170 EUR and upwards. Also, there are car hire options at the airport.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 28 days before arrival.
