Accommodation is provided in beautifully furnished 5-metre bell tents. Nestled amongst the lemon and orange groves, the bell tents are simple but sumptuous, with electricity and comfortable beds. Each tent can sleep up to three people. Crisp bed linen and pool towels are provided. There are solar hot and cold powered showers facilities. Internet access is available. There is a small shop on site for all those little essentials you might need.


Styles of yoga to be taught

The morning practice will be a juicy Vinyasa flow inspired by both Ashtanga and Forrest yoga. Ashtanga brings a powerful and more traditional alignment focus to the flow. This strength is balanced by the playfulness of Forrest yoga which teaches people to listen to their body and brings freedom as you are encouraged to not be bound by the asana but to instead make it your own. There will be lots of props, laughter and nourishing assists from the yoga teacher - think neck and shoulder releases - helping people fall in love with the sensations of their own bodies.

The evening practice will be yin inspired: long, deep pose holds, mindful movement and meditations and lots of yummy poetry to help undo tension and bring peace.

Your Rustic Retreats Journey

This New Year Retreat is a time to return to the core of who you are; reconnecting and rebalancing with your inner light as you plant the seeds to bloom into 2020. New Year is a time for reflecting on the year that is past and looking forward to all the next year holds. On this retreat we will give ourselves the time to intentionally move from the old season into the new, weaving in themes from nature and astrology – the earth has so much to teach us about growth when we take a step back to see it.

Each day of meditation and yoga practice will focus on a different chakra so that by the end of the week you will leave with a sense of wholeness to take forward into the new year. Workshops will focus on reconnection, guiding you back into your heart so that from this centred place you can grow

Workshop 1 - Connecting to nature

This first workshop will see us get up close and personal with our new home for the week. Opening our eyes to see all the wisdom the earth around us holds, we will begin thinking about the lessons the Winter season can teach us. This will be followed by a mindful, silent nature walk during which everyone will collect items that stick out to them to journal about: what goodness does the earth hold for us, where is it taking us.

Workshop 2 - Connecting to our bodies

During this workshop we will learn to listen to our bodies and feel postures without being able to see our body through some super fun inversion practice! Feeling your way into right alignment is yoga for the brain as well as the body and helps build that beautiful body awareness. Everyone including beginners right to advanced yogi’s we can all tap into the benefits of inversions during this workshop. From handstands to headstands, prepare for lots of laughter, learning and beauty as we flip our perspectives upside down!

Workshop 3 - Connecting to the world around us

“The place [the universe] calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet”. The yogi path of Karma yoga teaches us that our yoga on the mat should make the world around us a better place as our practice makes our inner sparkle shine that little bit brighter. This workshop will guide you toward your calling and help draw out your deepest passions and how they can be used to live out your yoga ‘off the mat’: helping us love our slice of the universe that little bit harder.

Workshop 4 - Connecting to each other

This will be a time to build on the friendships we have formed throughout the week, and speak encouraging, life-giving things into each other’s lives. There will also be space to practice using our intuition to read people’s bodies to draw out some deep, soul truths. This is all about sharing the love and building community – yummy!

Workshop 5 Connecting to yourself

This final workshop will give space to reflect on the retreat – what seeds have been planted, what do you want to take with you into the new year, what do you want to leave behind. This will be a journaling session to allow our souls to absorb all we have learnt the past week, sending us out into 2020 full of clarity and magic.

Stimulate all your senses whilst you absorb the bright colors, beautiful textures, tantalizing flavors, and sublime aromas of the fresh food served at Rustic Retreats. The chef will create a myriad of fresh, healthy vegetarian meals to tantalize your pallet, all using the ripest, freshest, seasonal ingredients that are locally produced either from their very own organic garden and vegetable patch or from the local market and farmers.

Varieties of fruit are growing freely on the site such as lemons, oranges, almonds, pomegranate, and carob to name but a few. All vegetarian meals are lovingly prepared by a trained chef in the outdoor kitchen and are served 'al fresco' whenever possible. All meals are included in the price. The meals have been so popular with the clients that they are looking at producing a recipe book for next season.

Example menu:

Start the day with a fruit smoothie or refreshing mint tea.

Breakfast baby spinach omelet, cereals, fruit and French toast.

Lunch bell pepper frittata, bean and yogurt salad, and pumpkin bread.

Evening meal squash and zucchini casserole with wild rice and lemon tart.


All day snack menu is available but cost is not included in the price. Alcohol is available at a small extra charge.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Fly into to Alicante, then it's a 2-hour train journey (6 EUR) through the beautiful Spanish countryside down to Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you.

Alternatively, fly into Corvera Airport Murcia (RMU). There is a bus transfer (costs 6 EUR), and it takes 25 minutes to Murcia train station. You can also get a taxi or hire a car (40 minutes by car to Totana). Train to Totana takes 40 minutes and costs approximately 3.75 EUR.

Arrive at Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you.

Arrival by taxi

You can get a taxi from the airport which would cost 170 EUR and upwards. Also, there are car hire options at the airport.
