Our accommodation comes in the form of beautiful yet simple well-equipped bell tents, with beds and electricity.

Bell tents

Our beautifully furnished bell tents are simple yet sumptuous. With comfy beds and crisp, fresh linen, it’ll be a luxury glamping experience you’ll never forget! As you lay your head down, let the sweet scent of the nearby lemon and orange groves carry you off to sleep as you doze under the glorious, star-filled sky. A truly blissful way to end your day.

​Rest and relaxation

You’ll be spoiled for choice for ways to rest and relax. You could take a dip in our refreshing swimming pool, or lounge lazily in the hammock area while taking in the beautiful views. Why not pull up a sun lounger in our shaded terrace, and enjoy one of our many books or board games? And at the end of your day, after an invigorating workshop, you can head past the almond trees to our lovely wooden meditation cabin, with breathtaking views over the valley.

As a totally off-grid yoga retreat, we have lovely, solar-powered showers, or if you prefer, an amazing outdoor shower block, so you can literally shower under the stars!

This semi-private retreat has been specifically designed to help us reconnect with others. We have all experienced a situation this year unparalleled in any way, it will take time for us all to reconnect and feel at ease among others. With this in mind we have remodeled our retreats:

Styles of yoga to be taught:

Classical Hatha Yoga works both with the physical and subtle bodies to take us deeper within, preparing us for meditation and more subtle levels of awareness. We will work a lot with individual Asana’s (poses) to ensure good alignment, Pranayama (Breath/ life force activation), Mudra’s (Sacred gestures), and some Mantra (healing sound currents) and Bhanda’s (Energy locks). Some gentle flow sequences will be occasionally included, along with sound, imagery, guided meditations and deep relaxations.

Your Rustic Retreats Journey:

‘Yoga’ means Union, and our heart is our Sacred Centre: where we are balanced between our roots (desires and instincts) and our wings (our expansive vision/ ideals).

In this retreat were going to explore how it is to balance the solitude you have so recently experienced . We will use the ancient potent tools of Yoga to cultivate a deeper awareness of our bodies. Creative exercises and experiential movement will add some colour, creativity and spice. This retreat is about getting to know ourselves and accepting every shade of who we are = self-love.

We will work with our roots and our wings bringing both energies to meet and seek a pathway through the heart enabling you to open it fully again in everyday life.

Workshop 1 - Chakra Awareness Journey with sound and movement​

Whether we are familiar with or new to working with our chakra’s this workshop will introduce and allow experiencing them in new ways. It will also be a wonderful introduction to the power of sound and vibration and the ways it can affect and release our bodies and clear our minds. We’ll work with Aum, Chakra seed sounds, intuitive sound and breath. Many of us are afraid of making sound, but this will be developed naturally, with fun, and will help us get deeper into our bodies and shift inhibitions.

Workshop 2 - Power of Gratitude​

Gratitude can shift a difficult situation into a wonderful opportunity and train our minds to be more contented with our present moments. We will explore what gratitude means to all of us; how it can make us happier and healthier; take a journey of gratitude through the body; and make our own gratitude journals to work with during the retreat. It gives us the opportunity for self-reflection and observation and moves us directly into the space of the heart.

Workshop 3 - Flow Painting and Nature Mandala’s​

Polarities make the wheel of life. As our theme for this day is on exploring and balancing these seemingly opposite energies to move into harmony and balance, there is no better place and teacher to guide us than nature herself. Let nature be unleashed and freedom of the child with in us see nature afresh, gather treasures and create our own wheel of life/ Mandala’s.

Workshop 4 - Connect to your Dharma

​What does living a passionate life mean to you? And, are you living your wildest dreams? What does you heart secretly yearn for? Do you dare to believe you could live them? This is a wonderful and fun, activating and even tearfully moving and revealing exercise. In the season of summer, which governs this days theme, let the full summer sun shine light on our hearts path. The teachings of yoga say that we each have our own unique Dharma or purpose for being here, something that we wish to learn or fulfill, whether seemingly small or wide reaching. This workshop will bring you closer to yours and help you to make the decisions in your life to move in their direction. When we know what they are we can achieve them.

Workshop 5 - Sacred Closing Circle

We will celebrate with a sacred closing circle at the end of the week. This will be our time to reflect and feel fully reconnected, healed, nourished and nurtured from our journey of deep self discovery. With an open heart, we find gratitude for all the blessings we have in our worlds, from this place of gratitude we find compassion to share both to oneself and to others. With a musical twist we will seal our experience with a chant that will remain a vibration in your heart forever.​

Rustic Retreats is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Espuna Mountains, southern Spain. This beautiful site has so much to offer to so many, they have an organic vegetable garden, fresh mountain spring water, solar power throughout, a beautiful swimming pool, earth-bag dome, stunning yoga platform on the side of the mountain, hammocks, orange and lemon trees, a tailor made pinewood meditation / relaxation cabin with views across the valley, outdoor showers so you can shower under the stars, and so much more. Food

Stimulate all your senses whilst you absorb the bright colors, beautiful textures, tantalizing flavors, and sublime aromas of the fresh food served at Rustic Retreats. The chef will create a myriad of fresh, healthy vegetarian meals to tantalize your pallet, all using the ripest, freshest, seasonal ingredients that are locally produced either from their very own organic garden and vegetable patch or from the local market and farmers.

Varieties of fruit are growing freely on the site such as lemons, oranges, almonds, pomegranate, and carob to name but a few. All vegetarian meals are lovingly prepared by a trained chef in the outdoor kitchen and are served 'al fresco' whenever possible. All meals are included in the price. The meals have been so popular with the clients that they are looking at producing a recipe book for next season.

Example menu:

  • Start the day with a fruit smoothie or refreshing mint tea.
  • Breakfast baby spinach omelet, cereals, fruit and French toast.
  • Lunch bell pepper frittata, bean and yogurt salad, and pumpkin bread.
  • Evening meal squash and zucchini casserole with wild rice and lemon tart.

  • All day snack menu is available but cost is not included in the price. Alcohol is available at a small extra charge.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Fly into to Alicante, then it's a 2-hour train journey (6 EUR) through the beautiful Spanish countryside down to Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you.

Alternatively, fly into Corvera Airport Murcia (RMU). There is a bus transfer (costs 6 EUR), and it takes 25 minutes to Murcia train station. You can also get a taxi or hire a car (40 minutes by car to Totana). Train to Totana takes 40 minutes and costs approximately 3.75 EUR.

Arrival by train

Arrive at Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you.

Arrival by taxi

You can get a taxi from the airport which would cost 170 EUR and upwards. Also, there are car hire options at the airport.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 28 days before arrival.
