Program

Semi private retreat

This semi-private retreat has been specifically designed to help us reconnect with others. Rustic Retreats has all experienced a situation this year unparalleled in any way, it will take time for us all to reconnect and feel at ease among others. With this in mind we have remodeled our retreats:

1) Min 4 to a max of 6 guests.

2) Private accommodation

3) Social distancing, open air dining room.

4) Social distancing, open air mountain yoga shala

Styles of yoga to be taught:

Hatha Yoga works both with the physical and subtle bodies to take us deeper within, preparing us for meditation and more subtle levels of awareness. We will work a lot with individual Asana’s (poses) to ensure good alignment, Pranayama (Breath/ life force activation), Mudra’s (Sacred gestures), and some Mantra (healing sound currents) and Bhanda’s (Energy locks). Some gentle flow sequences will be occasionally included, along with sound, imagery, guided meditations and deep relaxations.

Whether we are familiar with or new to working with our chakra’s this workshop will introduce and allow experiencing them in new ways. It will also be a wonderful introduction to the power of sound and vibration and the ways it can affect and release our bodies and clear our minds. We’ll work with Aum, Chakra seed sounds, intuitive sound and breath. Many of us are afraid of making sound, but this will be developed naturally, with fun, and will help us get deeper into our bodies and shift inhibitions.

Workshop 2 - Water Element

Cultivating Creativity. Discussion and any questions from morning practice, Creative drawing, sketching or painting in watercolours. Alternative option of 'mindful' creative cooking/food preparation.

Workshop 3 - Fire Element

Deepen Knowledge. Self-knowledge and personal power are associated with Manipura Chakra/Fire element and learning increases self-knowledge and knowledge is power!! Becky can introduce some basic Yoga Philosophy (including Patanjali yoga sutra, Bhagavad Gita) and answer any questions.

Workshop 4 - Air Element

Opening the heart. Visiting (another) local place of beauty to experience chanting OM in pairs back to back. Loving Kindness meditation. Alternatively it may also be a time for quiet reflection (even silent if people would like to try a period of Mouna)

Workshop 5 - Space Element

Nada Yoga (Yoga of sound). An introduction to Mantra and chanting. Using our voice to balance the throat Chakra. Listen to mantra and learn, chant and experience the effect of a common Mantra. e.g. Gayatri Mantra. Alternatively meaningful conversation to each other also balances Vishuddhi chakra.
