This beautifully furnished bell tents are simple yet sumptuous. With comfy beds and crisp, fresh linen, it’ll be a luxury glamping experience you’ll never forget! As you lay your head down, let the sweet scent of the nearby lemon and orange groves carry you off to sleep as you doze under the glorious, star-filled sky. A truly blissful way to end your day.

​Rest and relaxation

You’ll be spoiled for choice for ways to rest and relax. You could take a dip in the refreshing swimming pool, or lounge lazily in the hammock area while taking in the beautiful views. Why not pull up a sun lounger in the shaded terrace, and enjoy one of our many books or board games? And at the end of your day, after an invigorating workshop, you can head past the almond trees to this lovely wooden meditation cabin, with breathtaking views over the valley.

As a totally off-grid yoga retreat, they have lovely, solar-powered showers, or if you prefer, an amazing outdoor shower block, so you can literally shower under the stars!

Program

Style of yoga to be taught

The morning practice will start with mediation and some pranayama to help settle the mind for the benefits of the physical practice. The asana practice will be a mixture of Ashtanga Vinyasa incorporating more therapeutic and freeing aspects from Svastha Yoga. It will be an invigorating morning experience encouraging you to be true to how you are that day.

The evening practice will focus on longer holds, gentler variations of postures, and breathwork. This is a practice for clearing the mind and balancing your energy for a relaxing evening and a rejuvenating night's sleep.

Good physical and mental health comes from finding an easy balance between our internal experience and our external perceptions. Often learning not to take ourselves too seriously.

Yoga reminds us that nature is a healer. Our connection to the earth around us is a reminder that we are a very very small component of something far greater, and more awe-inspiring than many of us can truly perceive or hold fully in the grasp of our own understanding. All practices, physical, meditational, cerebral all connect us to the natural environment we are a part of.

This you will explore further, particularly how the physical practice of asana can link you into the deeper aspects of yoga philosophy according to Patanjali, which guides us to understand the nature of what it is to be human. You will look at the first "two limbs" of “The Eightfold Path of Yoga": Yamas and Niyamas.

These are ancient yoga texts that give timeless guidance for how your yoga practice informs the way you connect with and relate to the world around you.

Come and soak up the scenery and sunsets of Bagend and retune your body’s natural rhythm. As you let go, find space to break away and wander deeper into life and all that the universe holds for you.

Your workshop program

Ahimsa, Satya, and Saucha

How do you live out the yogic concepts of non-violence, truthfulness, and integrity? How do you take yoga from your mats and use it as a tool for moral imagination and social healing? During this first workshop, you will be exploring these questions.

Asteya, Santosha, and Tapas

Collectively these yamas and niyamas are a daily call to contentment: a reminder that meaning isn’t measured by how busy you are or how much money you have but instead who we are in the deepest parts of our being. During this workshop, you will spend time reflecting on where you find your own meaning and contentment, and then take your reflections out into nature for a meditative walk, asking what nature can teach us about our place in the world.

Brahmacharya and Aparigraha

Building on the previous day's exploration of where you find meaning, this workshop will explore how you share that with the world. Brahmacharya and Aparigraha ask you to think about how you can give generously and freely whilst also protecting the energy you give out. Thinking about what it is that we have to share with the world, and how you can spend more time doing that in a more proactive way.

Svadhyaya and Ishvara Pranidhana

These final niyamas are about self-study, awakening to your true potential, and surrendering to the universe. As the retreat draws to a close and we prepare to move back into our lives we review and consolidate what we will be taking away with us into our normal lives.

Yoga Nidra

End the week with an extended yoga Nidra practice. Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep will bring you to a deeper state of relaxation than a typical meditation practice. As you connect more deeply to your physical being, this opens space for your soul, mind, and spirit to awaken. Spending time in this deep surrender leads you into a deep awareness of peace, a peace you can bring back with you to your waking life.

Food

Rustic Retreats provide delicious, vegetarian food at their yoga retreats, cooked up by their world-class chef in their airy outdoor kitchen, which they then eat al fresco whenever possible!

Seasonal, local produce

The food at their yoga retreats comprise of only the freshest, seasonal local produce. As you will discover, the fruit and vegetables in this region are second to none. They grow plenty of ingredients in their organic vegetable patch and on their many fruit trees. Some of the fruit they have growing freely on-site include lemons, oranges, almonds, pomegranates, and carob - to name a few!

Otherwise, they go to the nearby town to buy from the local markets and farmers, many of whom they are on a first-name basis with! They also organize trips to the local markets with guests on their yoga retreats, so you can see first hand where your food comes from if you choose.

Healthy vegetarian/vegan food

They run a vegetarian kitchen, and they can cater for special dietary needs - please let them know when you book. All meals are included in the price, and alcohol is available at a small extra charge. There’s also an all-day snack bar (not included in the price).

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Fly into to Alicante, then it's a 2-hour train journey (6 EUR) through the beautiful Spanish countryside down to Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you.

Alternatively, fly into Corvera Airport Murcia (RMU). There is a bus transfer (costs 6 EUR), and it takes 25 minutes to Murcia train station. You can also get a taxi or hire a car (40 minutes by car to Totana). Train to Totana takes 40 minutes and costs approximately 3.75 EUR.

Arrival by train

Arrive at Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you.

Arrival by taxi

You can get a taxi from the airport which would cost 170 EUR and upwards. Also, there are car hire options at the airport.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 28 days before arrival.
