Our accommodation comes in the form of beautiful yet simple well-equipped bell tents, with beds and electricity.

Bell tents

Our beautifully furnished bell tents are simple yet sumptuous. With comfy beds and crisp, fresh linen, it’ll be a luxury glamping experience you’ll never forget! As you lay your head down, let the sweet scent of the nearby lemon and orange groves carry you off to sleep as you doze under the glorious, star-filled sky. A truly blissful way to end your day.

​Rest and relaxation

You’ll be spoiled for choice for ways to rest and relax. You could take a dip in our refreshing swimming pool, or lounge lazily in the hammock area while taking in the beautiful views. Why not pull up a sun lounger in our shaded terrace, and enjoy one of our many books or board games? And at the end of your day, after an invigorating workshop, you can head past the almond trees to our lovely wooden meditation cabin, with breathtaking views over the valley.

As a totally off-grid yoga retreat, we have lovely, solar-powered showers, or if you prefer, an amazing outdoor shower block, so you can literally shower under the stars!

Electricity and internet

We provide our guests with an Internet connection , and the bell tents come ready with solar electricity.

This semi-private retreat has been specifically designed to help us reconnect with others. We have all experienced a situation this year unparalleled in any way, it will take time for us all to reconnect and feel at ease among others. With this in mind we have remodeled our retreats:

Styles of yoga to be taught:

Your classes will be Ashtanga and Vinyasa they are both naturally dynamic and energetic, but also build a strong sense of connection between body and mind by linking each movement to the breath.

Vinyasa means ‘breath synchronised movement’. These styles were designed to embody the benefits of an extensive yoga and meditation practice in a relatively short period of time so that people with busy lives could fit in a consistent and meaningful daily practice that is good for both physical and mental wellbeing.

In the Ashtanga sessions we will lead you through a set sequence that is a modified version of the Ashtanga Primary series. Due to its repetition of movement, we see Ashtanga as a beautiful moving meditation, and design our Vinyasa flow classes in a more creative way using music to enhance the mood and feel of the class experience.

On the retreat you will get to experience both of these styles in our morning sessions and a more restorative Yin yoga approach in the evening. In a restorative class poses are held for longer periods of time often supported so the body and mind can totally relax.

Your Rustic Retreats Journey:

We will begin each day with an energizing Vinyasa Flow class, linking breath to movement creating a wonderfully meditative practice and end the day bathed in pure relaxation following yin and restorative yoga. The emphasis of this retreat is on play, freedom, connection to others, our surroundings and ourselves.

The physical yoga practice is a great place to build the confidence to move intuitively, listen to your body and start to build the connection between mind, breath and body. Daily workshops run throughout the week will continue to build on this idea as we delve deeper into yoga philosophy and meditation bringing wisdom and practical advice into our lives now.

There will even be the opportunity to record your imaginative musings in a creative art workshop. As you become more connected to your inner voice a natural feeling of freedom encourages the power of imagination to come to the fore bringing with it a light, happy and mind.

Back on the mat we will learn how to fly with fun, playful sessions of partner work and acro yoga. Your week will be filled with accessible teachings that will help you to build and enjoy your practice and find the time to reflect, recharge and relax.

Workshop 1 - How to be happy

This workshop will include a talk and guided meditation designed to create a peaceful and happy mind. Drawing on Buddha’s teachings, we will discover how to achieve happiness and gain some practical methods to use in our everyday lives. The opportunity to sit down and really think about how to be happy can be fleeting in our busy lives so this is the perfect time to reflect and reconnect with yourself. Following the meditation we will discover ways in which to put the teachings into practice using a practical approach ensuring that all the benefits of your meditation continue to flow into the rest of your retreat and beyond.

Workshop 2 - Yoga philosophy now

Learning more about the philosophy of yoga brings greater meaning to our practice and helps to bridge the gap between yoga as a physical practice and our day to day activities. The eight limbs of yoga as set out by the sage Patanjali act as a guide to alleviate suffering and gain self realization. We will learn about the eight limbs but even better, discover how they are meaningful to us now and find ways in which to bring these qualities into our lives and achieve greater well-being.

Workshop 3 - Acro yoga

Acro yoga is so much fun! It is about connecting to others, building trust and challenging yourself to take on things you didn’t even know you could do. We will learn the basic principles around supporting each other, experiment with some cool acro tricks and have a lot of fun along the way. As with any yoga practice, it’s not about fancy moves so all you need is an open mind and you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. Workshop 4 - Break it down!

Hard poses made easy. Yoga isn’t about striking the perfect pose but learning how to master something definitely feels good and almost always requires patience or, as I like to refer to it ’waiting happily’. The mind of patience is happy to take as long as it needs and in doing so is more open and aware of changes as they occur. When we apply this mind to mastering a yoga pose or anything else it becomes much lighter and more fun. In this workshop we will challenge ourselves by adopting a new attitude towards tricky poses and make them easy.

Workshop 5 - “Everything you can imagine is real” ​

“Everything you can imagine is real,” said Pablo Picasso. Imagination is where everything starts and it is a very powerful tool to have on the utility belt of your mind. However, it can often take a backseat or get lost among the lists of important things we need to tend to. In this session we will get imagination back in the driver's seat and create our own artworks inspired by our beautiful surroundings and whatever our imaginations can conjure up. I will lead you through a series of exercises designed to tap into your creativity so don’t worry, no previous experience of being arty required. Although, Picasso also said we were all artists as children anyway!

Food

Stimulate all your senses whilst you absorb the bright colors, beautiful textures, tantalizing flavors, and sublime aromas of the fresh food served at Rustic Retreats. The chef will create a myriad of fresh, healthy vegetarian meals to tantalize your pallet, all using the ripest, freshest, seasonal ingredients that are locally produced either from their very own organic garden and vegetable patch or from the local market and farmers.

Varieties of fruit are growing freely on the site such as lemons, oranges, almonds, pomegranate, and carob to name but a few. All vegetarian meals are lovingly prepared by a trained chef in the outdoor kitchen and are served 'al fresco' whenever possible. All meals are included in the price. The meals have been so popular with the clients that they are looking at producing a recipe book for next season.

  • Start the day with a fruit smoothie or refreshing mint tea.
  • Breakfast baby spinach omelet, cereals, fruit and French toast.
  • Lunch bell pepper frittata, bean and yogurt salad, and pumpkin bread.
  • Evening meal squash and zucchini casserole with wild rice and lemon tart.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Fly into to Alicante, then it's a 2-hour train journey (6 EUR) through the beautiful Spanish countryside down to Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you.

Alternatively, fly into Corvera Airport Murcia (RMU). There is a bus transfer (costs 6 EUR), and it takes 25 minutes to Murcia train station. You can also get a taxi or hire a car (40 minutes by car to Totana). Train to Totana takes 40 minutes and costs approximately 3.75 EUR.

Arrival by train

Arrive at Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you.

Arrival by taxi

You can get a taxi from the airport which would cost 170 EUR and upwards. Also, there are car hire options at the airport.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 28 days before arrival.
