The accommodation comes in the form of beautiful yet simple well-equipped bell tents with beds and electricity. You will be spoiled for choice for ways to rest and relax. You could take a dip in the refreshing swimming pool or lounge lazily in the hammock area while taking in the beautiful views. Why not pull up a sun lounger in the shaded terrace and enjoy one of many books or board games? And at the end of your day, after an invigorating workshop, you can head past the almond trees to the lovely wooden meditation cabin with breathtaking views over the valley.

Bell tents

Beautifully furnished bell tents are simple yet sumptuous. With comfy beds and crisp, fresh linen, it will be a luxury glamping experience you will never forget. As you lay your head down, let the sweet scent of the nearby lemon and orange groves carry you off to sleep as you doze under the glorious, star-filled sky. A truly blissful way to end your day.

As a totally off-grid yoga retreat, Rustic Retreats has lovely, solar-powered showers, or if you prefer an amazing outdoor shower block, you can literally shower under the stars.

Electricity and internet

They provide you an Internet connection and the bell tents come ready with solar electricity.


Style of yoga

You will start each day with a dynamic Vinyasa Flow to recharge and energize your body and mind. The asana sequences will be built up step by step through the class with options given so that all abilities and body types are taken care of and everyone can feel fully included. Your evening practice will be a restorative Yin Flow, a chance to really unwind and let go. In your Yin asana practice, you stay in each asana for longer and use props for support. The use of props (blocks and cushions) allows you to stay with asanas for longer without discomfort or stress.

This method gives the facia (connective tissue) of the body time to release. The yoga practice will be opened to all levels. Modifications will be given throughout. You are all so different, physically, mentally, and emotionally. You will be encouraged to really listen to what your body needs and this may change from day by day. You will be encouraged to take the practice at your own pace and nurture your body and mind, at the same time as developing strength and flexibility physically and mentally.

Your Rustic Retreats journey

Each of you holds magic inside of you: an inner light that can transform your lives and the world around you. But in a society that constantly tells you that you are not enough your magic can get hidden and forgotten and as you search for meaning in things outside of yourselves like money or material possessions you can forget that everything you need is already within you. Spend a week exploring and developing your yoga practice, making it right for you so you can feel connected with your inner magic, new friends, and your environment. There will be one workshop a day. It may be in the morning or afternoon.

Your workshops

Connect with your body

In this first workshop, you will set the foundation for the rest of the week's asana practice. You will explore the asanas commonly found in a Vinyasa practice, finding ease and steadiness without stress, struggle, or strain. Learn to listen to, accept, and love your body.

Connect with the earth (mindful walking)

You will walk slowly and mindfully through the beautiful landscape surrounding Bagend as a reminder that you are connected to everything around you. Mindful walking is a great way to connect with your body, your breath, and your environment and is a form of meditation easily accessible to those who find sitting still a challenge.

Connect with others

Connect with each other using partner yoga. You will explore some simple asana assists to help each other to get the most from yoga asana and enjoy some fun acro-yoga to build trust, communication, and friendships. Partner yoga keeps you in check and allows you to mindfully work through the postures with someone else. No one is better than anyone, for both your strengths and weaknesses, should allow you to complete the poses. This is also a mental exercise for teamwork versus focusing purely on yourself.

Turning it all up-side-down

Exploring some of the full inversions. Headstands and handstands can feel very scary and even impossible. You are capable of so much more than you realize. Come and explore your body and flip your perspective upside-down with an inversion workshop for all levels. The most exciting part of reaching a goal is the journey along the way: overcoming obstacles as you grow in confidence to try new things and have a good old laugh along the way.

Sankalpa and Yoga Nidra

A Sankalpa or mantra is an intention you form in your heart and mind, something you want to flavor and guide your lives. In this workshop, you will spend time creating a personal Sankalpa and then move into Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra or yogic sleep is a gorgeous practice that guides you into a deep state of relaxation. It is from this space of deep relaxation you bring your Sankalpa and allow it to settle into your deepest being. Wake up feeling refreshed, nourished, and aligned with your inner magic.

Retreat location

The retreat will take place in Murcia, Spain. Rustic Retreats is nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Espuna Mountains, southern Spain. This beautiful site has so much to offer to so many.

They have an organic vegetable garden, fresh mountain spring water, solar power throughout, a beautiful swimming pool, earth-bag dome, stunning yoga platform on the side of the mountain, hammocks, orange and lemon trees, a tailor-made pinewood meditation or relaxation cabin with views across the valley, and outdoor showers so you can shower under the stars, and so much more. Stimulate all your senses whilst you absorb the bright colors, beautiful textures, tantalizing flavors, and sublime aromas of the fresh food served at Rustic Retreats. The chef will create a myriad of fresh, healthy vegetarian meals to tantalize your pallet, all using the ripest, freshest, seasonal ingredients that are locally produced either from their very own organic garden and vegetable patch or from the local market and farmers.

Varieties of fruit are growing freely on the site such as lemons, oranges, almonds, pomegranate, and carob to name but a few. All vegetarian meals are lovingly prepared by a trained chef in the outdoor kitchen and are served 'al fresco' whenever possible. All meals are included in the price. The meals have been so popular with the clients that they are looking at producing a recipe book for next season.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Región de Murcia International Airport (RMU) or Alicante–Elche Airport (ALC). Fly into Alicante, then it is a two-hour train journey (6 EUR) through the beautiful Spanish countryside down to Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you. From Región de Murcia International Airport (RMU), there is a bus transfer (costs 6 EUR), and it takes 25 minutes to Murcia train station. You can also get a taxi or hire a car (40 minutes by car to Totana). Train to Totana takes 40 minutes and costs approximately 3.75 EUR.

Arrival by train

Please arrive at Totana station where Rustic Retreats will collect you.

Arrival by taxi

You can get a taxi from the airport which would cost 170 EUR and upwards. Also, there are car hire options at the airport.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 28 days before arrival.
