Yoga and Lifestyle Retreat in the Netherlands

Are you doing life or is life doing you? Myrthe believes that a retreat can be so much more than ‘just’ an opportunity to relax and unwind. A retreat is also the perfect time to reconnect with yourself, nourish your body, mind, and soul and initiate transformation. We nourish our souls through many different things: mindful movement, healthy food, a deep connection with ourselves and others, play, rest, nature, and creativity. When we do all of these things, we allow space for transformation. And that’s exactly what you’ll find on this retreat! So Myrthe invites you to spend 5 days with her in the northern part of Holland and you will leave feeling nourished in every possible way.

The Wierschuur is the beautiful and luxury old Dutch farm you will be staying in. The farm is a monumental building and kept in its original state where possible. You have 3 different room options to choose from.

All rooms have comfortable beds, beautiful interiors, bed linen and towels, a private bathroom with toilet, a desk for you to write in your journal, and big windows to look outside into the garden and over the farmlands. They are a lovely space for you to retreat yourself from the group and to rest.

Program

On this retreat, you will learn more about nutrition and health, practice yoga and meditation twice every day and will receive personal health coaching to initiate your own transformation and feel empowered to become a better version of yourself.

Move

Moving your physical body allows you to drop into a state of presence and awareness, in order to connect with yourself again. Once you are connected to your physical body, you are in the right space to connect with your deeper inner selves as well, on a mental and emotional level. That’s why you will start the days with a strong yoga practice or a walk to challenge yourself a little bit and get the energy moving. Every day, you will move, one way or another. So you can step into the present moment and into your power.

Play

As busy adults, you often forget the importance of play. You forget to do the little things that light you up and get you out of your head. Playing and going on adventures naturally brings you right into the here and now. It makes your soul happy and clears your mind. It teaches you not to take life so seriously. So Myrthe encourages you to step into your inner child again (and she promises, it’s still there!) through fun and playful activities. You will go on several fun and grounding adventures, getting that inner child out!

Connect

Connection happens on two levels: with yourself and with others. This retreat is designed for you to slow down and to connect with what truly matters to you, free from distraction and the stresses of everyday life. There’s something special about bringing a group of like-minded people together from all walks of life. Lasting connections are formed and meeting other people on their personal journeys is an opportunity to learn and grow from one another. Connecting with others starts with connecting with yourself.

Transform

Myrthe believes that a nourished soul allows space for deep transformation to happen. When you are connected to what you truly want, life starts to flow and happiness is guaranteed. On this retreat, she will provide you with all the tools to do life in a different way and to know exactly what it means to nourish your soul daily. Her workshops and coaching sessions will show you how to nourish your body, transform your mind, and connect with your soul.

The schedule is diverse, to make sure you feel nourished in every possible way. So your day could look like this, but every day is different!

  • Wake up rested around 7 a.m. for a cup of tea in the big garden
  • Move your body with a sunrise yoga practice at 8 a.m.
  • Nourish yourself for the day with the best brunch at 9.30 a.m.
  • 1-on-1 health coaching session in the morning
  • Healthy lunch in between
  • Transformational lifestyle workshop in the afternoon
  • Connect with nature and yourself through a walking meditation at 5 p.m.
  • Dinner at 7 p.m.
  • Playtime in the evening; read a book, exchange life stories and goals with your new besties or go for your complimentary massage

You can choose to book a 1-on-1 coaching session with Myrthe (extra charges apply). This coaching session is an opportunity for you to dig in a little deeper into some of the things you would like to work on for yourself, related to lifestyle, wellbeing, and mindset. After your booking, you will receive a questionnaire with some questions around what your goals and intentions are for this retreat, in order to prepare better for our session and make the most out of it. You also have the option to book a healing massage with our certified therapist (extra charges apply)

You can expect to practice different styles of yoga, from stronger power Vinyasa classes, slow flows, Hatha, and more restorative practices like Yin. In addition, all practices will include some form of breathwork and meditation.

Included excursions

You will spend most of your time in and around the villa, but you will also leave the premises a few times for walks and cycling tours around the beautiful area, to watch the ocean and connect with nature.

Retreat location

You will be staying in de Wierschuur, in Hippolytushoef, the Netherlands. This is a beautiful and tranquil monumental old farm, made into a luxury villa-style group accommodation. It’s located in the middle of the Dutch ‘polder’, with sheep, cows, and endless corn and grass fields surrounding our private space. The sea is at a 10-minute bike ride, and the farm itself has plenty of space indoors and outdoors for you to relax, read a book by the fire or just chill in the garden. Plus, you’ll be treated to a relaxing spa experience to get fully into that rest-mode.

The food you eat every day can be a medicine to nourish, strengthen, and heal imbalances in your body, mind, and soul. Therefore your private chef serves not just delicious, but next level healthy, mostly plant-based, nutrient-rich, locally sourced, meals!

Rooted Lifestyle believes that everybody and everybody is different, so they cater for any type of dietary restriction or wish you may have. Most of your meals will be vegan or vegetarian, with some fish or seafood. Rooted Lifestyle encourages you to slow down when you eat, so you eat based on what your body really needs.

If you have any other dietary or allergy requests, the chef is happy to take these into account. Please note in advance and they will do their best to accommodate.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS). Public transport offers good options to get to train station Anna Paulowna. From there, you can take a taxi to the farm. If you let Rooted Lifestyle know in advance, they can also help you arrange a pickup.

The best way to get to the location is by car. If you do not have a car available, public transport is your second best guess. Please contact Rooted Lifestyle and they will help you figure out the best route for you.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 30% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
