Upon completion of this yoga teacher training, students are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT®).
Rishikul Yogshala, a Yoga Alliance registered yoga school, has been the leader of spreading education of yoga since 2010. Rishikul Yogshala blends traditional value of ancient yoga with contemporary patterns to completely fulfill the requirements of a contemporary yogi looking to advance their life and career as skilled yoga practitioner and teacher.
The teachings are more scientific initially, but later evolve to a spiritual method allowing for a holistic and well-rounded approach to yoga. This program at the Yogshala allows the mind to regain peace and the body to recover its beauty and vital stamina.
The program is designed as per the Yoga Alliance standards and has a strong foundation of teaching all elements of yoga that will make every learner a master. The yoga instructor certification course is designed for those who desire self-knowledge and complete understanding of the yoga sutras to become a successful yoga teacher and practitioner.
This is the foundation course for learning various disciplines and guidelines of yoga. It is a detailed course that suitably follows the standards of Yoga Alliance. The 200-hour yoga teacher training course at Rishikul Yogshala, Pokhara, is developed to deliver the complete theoretical and practical know-how about yoga. This course leads towards deepening of yoga practice and also imbibes skills so you can train and guide others as well-practiced yoga teachers.
The classic yoga style that helps integrate mind, body and spiritual balance is also one of the oldest and the most eminent traditional yoga styles. During the Ashtanga yoga classes, the students would learn to develop strength, stability, agility, and immense focus on a holistic level.
With numerous health benefits, Hatha classes will teach students to observe the body and take a conscious approach to its limitations. The focus of the class is not related to the dynamic way of performing asanas, but to work on correct alignment in every posture.
The philosophy classes will help the students achieve their inner and spiritual growth, offering answers to many questions related to yoga and life. While teaching yoga philosophy, the students are assisted to live an enlightened life in society. The key points include:
You will learn a wide range of meditation exercises and strategies for relaxation and to clear the mind.
Prana is life force or breath. The classes awaken students’ realization of the importance of the breath, both in the practice of yoga and in everyday life. When you manage to purify your bodies and minds, pranayama becomes a real pleasure and reveals the way to the spiritualistic experiences.
Anatomy classes allow the students to gain a basic knowledge about the human body and its most important systems.
Perfection of the asanas is achieved through a rigorous application of various adjustment and alignment techniques.
Mantra is a group of Sanskrit words that are rhythms and create sound vibrations that touch every cell in the body and the depth of the soul. In mantra classes, students will learn to come together to create an inner awareness as the teacher guides you through each mantra and its meaning.
Understand the presence of body’s healing points. Upon simulation, these points act as the remedy to treating various disorders and, as the ideal means to achieving maximum benefit from each asana. Mudra or gesture when combined with Pranayama therapy magically works the flow of prana and activates the entire body’s energy process.
Yoga Nidra is a unique meditation technique which involves traveling through various stages while gradually falling into a rejuvenating and peaceful slumber while being awake in the moment. Also known as the yogic sleep, this is a highly essential spiritual awakening technique practiced to explore internal layers of a human soul while achieving intense relaxation and inner calm. During yoga Nidra sessions, you shall explore and stroll through the various stages for deep rejuvenation of the mind, body and soul.
Study the science of body preparation through yogic cleansing methods before commencing yoga and meditation practice. An essential part of early morning tradition, the Shatkriyas or the Shatkarmas play a dominant role in mental, physical and spiritual purification and, in balancing the doshas. It is strongly believed that the teacher training program is incomplete without proper classes of teaching methodology and techniques. In the last week of this course, you will be given the opportunity to teach others under the guidance of the teachers.

The TTC starts on the 7th of every month and ends on 3rd of the following month. The students are allowed to do check in on 6th at any time and then they can do check out on 4th at anytime.
Included in this retreat is: a visit to Sarangkot for sunrise yoga, yoga in nearby mountains, boating in Pokhara Lake, visiting poor or needy kids school to have yoga with them, and Karma yoga (cleaning of Pokhara Lake).

Born in the lap of Kerala, Swami Atmaji has devoted his life to yoga and spirituality since childhood. A compassionate soul by nature, he studied Homeopathy in Kerala and also practiced Naturopathy with the purpose to help people become healthier. As a religious follower of Vedas and Upanishads, Swamiji followed his passion for unearthing the essence of spirituality with various meditation practices as a vagrant ascetic for over four years. He completed his education from Shivananda Ashram under the supreme guidance of his guru Swami Adyatamanandaji.
A former Naga Guru, Gangesha Chaitanya holds knowledge and wisdom of the unparalleled yogic mystics that very rare yogis can attain. An E-RYT certified yoga teacher, he received a major part of his spiritual education from the great Saint Swami Rama. He is a master of Meditation, Kundalini Yoga and Pranayama. Born and brought up in a spiritual environment of a well-respected family in Karnataka, Kavithaji was raised under the values and teachings of Basavanna (one of the greatest saints in 12th-century and a highly-distinguished Hindu philosopher, statesman, Kannada poet). She has studied and practiced Pranayama under the mentorship of Sri Ganeshwer Avadhut in Srisailam forest before following the footsteps of the great yoga and spiritual guru Swami Veda Bharthi, a disciple of Swami Rama where she studied the art of meditation and yogic philosophy. The most eminent yoga guru in Rishikesh, Annamalai Pranaji specializes in subjects like Pranayama and Yoga Philosophy. He fulfilled his apprenticeship in the principles of Swami Sivananda – Swami Vignananda tradition of Tamil Nadu. He blends his teachings with traditional authenticity and modern perspective. As a disciple of Lord Krishna who is also her spiritual guide, Deepa ji is an avid follower of yoga and the spiritual message of love it carries within. Rebelling against the usual norms of a chauvinist society, Deepa Ji is a subtle feminist and one of the very few women who have made a mark for themselves in the field of yoga. In her spare time, she loves to travel and indulge in quiet photography.
Born and nurtured in the spiritual town of Rishikesh, Gurmeet ji is an expert with subjects like Hatha yoga, yoga anatomy, and physiology. A Yoga Alliance certified RYT 500 yoga teacher, Gurmeet ji also holds a post graduate degree in yoga from Uttarakhand Sanskrit University. Gurmeet Ji trained under the supreme guidance and blessings of Swami Dharma Nanda at the Ved Niketan ashram. As a yoga professional, he refined his skills further by working with renowned physiotherapists in Germany before coming back to India for preaching the science of yoga to fellow citizens.
Vimalji holds various degrees including Bachelor’s degree in Sanskrit, a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and a Post Graduate Diploma in Yogic Science. Born into a conventional Indian family, Vimalji has indulged himself in profound yogic practices since he was 11 years old. He further studied under Mahamandaleshwar Sri Swami Veda Bharati- a disciple of Swami Rama and has devoted his life to teachings and practice of yogic science ever since. With his education and experience in various mystics of yoga including mantra chanting, he attained the status of Acharya Vimal.
A strong believer in the fact that yoga and science are intensely linked with each other, Kushal ji has devoted his life in exploring the complicated aspects of yoga through scientific point of view. Kushal ji holds a Master’s degree in Yogic Science and a strong experience of working with the Indian army as a yoga trainer. In addition with being a dedicated yoga teacher, he is also a passionate karma yogi who often indulges in volunteer work at several yoga camps.
Suraj Ji is a Yoga Alliance certified RYT 500 teacher and, also holds a Master’s degree in Yoga Science. Born and brought up in the yoga capital, Rishikesh, Suraj ji has been practicing yoga since his childhood. He also studied under the profound mentorship of Guru Narendra Gussain, a much acclaimed yoga teacher of traditional and contemporary style of yoga. One of the most exclusive elements about Suraj ji’s classes is that he blends in traditional yoga with contemporary styles.

The valley of Pokhara is abundant with plush agricultural land and, hence, delectable meals prepared from fresh produce become a signature style of cooking for the people of Nepal. Following the same style, they serve healthy vegetarian meals, equally palatable to all our participating candidates. The meals are yogic in nature and are prepared by chefs specializing in Ayurveda. The food is 100% vegetarian, following the balance of body and mind. Pure vegan diet can also be availed on request.
Please book your flight to arrive at Tribhuvan Airport in Kathmandu. Upon landing, bus or cab can be availed to our venue in Pokhara.
If travelling from India, you may reach any of the points of entry for Nepal namely, Kakkarbhitta (West Bengal), Biratnagar (Bihar), Birgunj (Bihar), Sunauli, Nepalgunj, Dhanagadi and Mahendranagar (all across the border from Uttar Pradesh). From there, you can take a direct bus for Pokhara.
