Yoga teaching techniques

The yoga teaching techniques cover principles such as asana, pranayama, shatkarma, bandhas, mudras, meditation techniques, and mantra and chanting. Asana is the yoga postures, pranayama is the breathing techniques, shatkarma is the cleansing techniques, bandhas is the locking of energy, and mudras is the channeling of energy. Teaching methodology

The objective and aim of this module is to learn the art of teaching as well as the business and marketing aspects of yoga. This is done by cultivating good quality teaching like timing, class planning, intonation of voice, asana sequence, and the art of adjustment. The trainer will be refining your qualities to teach in small and big groups of students. The lessons will include the study of anatomy and physiology. The module will focus on general movement and human body terms as well as the systems of the body such as the respiratory system, the muscular system, the endocrine, and the nervous system.

Yoga philosophy, lifestyle, and ethics for yoga teachers

How does this particular turn? Which movement sequences make sense and which less? Your breathing and your movements are coordinated and the connections are illuminated in all facets. Rejoice in flowing hours and be open to change.

Week 3

Look forward to a variety of adjustment techniques to many asanas and gain safety and competence for your lessons.

Week 4

    Unbelievably Disappointing

CONS Cons: -the accommodations -the professors preach their religion to you -there is very little opportunity to learn any practices on your own they are all shoved down your throat. -this was more of a yoga bootcamp than a yoga instructor course -I barely gained any teacher experience -the food was mediocre but is really the least of my complaints -the city/location of the school is far from peaceful The thing about it all was when I expressed my concern, the answer I was given was "this is the first time so many people had complaints about the program", -I could go on and on but my goal is not to bash the school but to give the information I wish I had when I went in search of this school.

PROS Pros: The experiences I made on my own after the countless disappointments experienced at the school. Two of the excursions to the dam and to the waterfall were the best things facilitated by the school.

Organizer response: Namaste Shantel, first of all i apologize for the inconvenience you had here while you were with us. Few things i would like to clear up here, we live in rishikesh known as Yoga Capital of the World, we live here with very basic needs of life, this course is not about having a luxurious vacation in rishikesh, it is about to get to know your trueself, and to share this sacred knowledge with others, as you stated it was not a value for money thing, i strongly disagree with you, the accommodation we provide is with all the facilities to make the stay comfortable like Air conditioner, TV, Geyser, Wi-Fi etc. About the part we preaching and forcing our religion to you, let me clear this for you, Yoga is not a religion, it is a universal science that has risen above religion. It is a universal technique. i am sure it was not how you looked at it from far but we intend to provide our traditional teaching method with traditional syllabus with traditional schedule. For the time period you are here learning yoga and traditional manner, you need to follow the teaching pattern, syllabus and schedule we provide. Later on its your choice to live your life the way you want. We are not forcing and also we can not force. We are very glad to see your intentions that they are not to bash down the school but just to share the information, we wish the very best for you in your carrier and life ahead. Namaste

Review by Jamie Call from United States

CONS Cons: Jala Neti. I did it. I get why we do it. It just sucks. Lack of organization/communication between teachers. One teacher would tell us to have another teacher teach us something . I do not feel that it is the place of the student to coordinate lessons plans. When I communicated this to the staff they arranged a meeting between the teachers and this became a non-issue, which made the rest of the session great! Lack of communication about what weekend excursions were until the night before, making it hard to plan. Crappy internet, even though they changed providers. During the four weeks we were there the sheets were cleaned once. It took a week after we were told they would be cleaned to have it happen. There were things that we asked of the staff and were assured they would be done, but days later still had not been completed. I know it's stupid, but real toilets. Squatty potties are where it is at! Some people will really appreciate the real toilets though. Just FYI, 28-day YTT course = 24 days of training, which is plenty. I just thought it was 28 full days when I arrived, but it's my fault for misreading the information.

PROS Pros: The education that we received was excellent and I'm overjoyed to have studied here. The staff was extremely friendly and interactive and I had a blast with them. I love those guys and miss our dance parties!!! We had four really amazing excursions during the time of our study: rafting, a temple and a dam, a cave and a waterfall. A great way to break the monotony of the week and explore India! The quality of the teaching was very high. The teachers were open to questions and gave great explanations. Anatomy was exceptionally good-- I understand the body better now than I did after 2 semesters of college anatomy and physiology. Philosophy was comprehensive. Food was great. Some people thought it was monotonous but it was always delicious and pretty healthy. The kitchen staff are so sweet, too! Overall an amazing experience. I think this is a new program and that explains their organizational issues. When everything gets ironed out it will be a truly spectacular School.

    Good experience

CONS Cons: Unorganised on programme. Food can be improved. Somehow I don't feel the connection between the programme and teachers, therefore apart from knowledge and fitness there are no bliss and inner peace experience during the practises.

PROS Pros: Rishikesh is a wonderful place surrounded by mountains. Love the freedom of the animals (monkeys, cows, mules, dogs) being around everywhere. The staff from the school are friendly and fun, I enjoyed their dance and laugh. All the teachers has put in effort to teach.
