Have you ever thought of teaching yoga? Or maybe you just are exploring your own understanding and practice of yoga or to deepen your personal practice as your teaching skills grow with enthusiasm. Rishikesh Himalaya Yoga Institute (RHYI) intensive yoga teachers training program brings the ancient authentic teachings of yoga into a modern contemporary understanding of yoga.
We provide excellent accommodation facilities on single or twin sharing bases (single room is available with little additional fee) for our participants on different yoga retreats and teachers training program. The facilities include 24 hours power/electricity and water supply back up and high security.
Three weeks intensive program will cover the history, tradition, and different paths of yoga, asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, and teaching methodology and skills with an emphasis on Vinyasa sequencing.
It is an excellent program to develop your own knowledge of yoga and equip yourself with great teaching skills. The program is exclusively designed to help and guide yoga teachers and practitioners who want to develop their teaching skills. This training will provide the participants the knowledge, practice, and experience to become an inspiring yoga teacher.
Participants who complete the program receive yoga teacher certification from the RHYI, which qualify them to register with the Yoga Alliance as a RYT or Registered Yoga Teacher at the 200- hour level.

Yogabindu has been practicing yoga since his childhood. Given the spiritual name of Yogabindu, he has been truly living as ultimate truth seeker. After initiated into the yoga tradition, he obtained a teachers training certificates. He also holds a masters degree in Yogic Science and working on his PhD in Yoga Philosophy. He has also taught yoga in many yoga centers around the globe and leading health spas.
Abtar has been practicing yoga since he was 14 years old. He has achieved a gold medal in the team event at the Indian University Yoga Championships and has a vast yoga teaching experience as a senior yoga teacher in Singapore, Malaysia, and Macau. He has also been yoga coordinator at California Fitness Vietnam and yoga training director at Karma Yoga Vietnam. He has also worked as a yoga consultant at The Chateau Spa and Organic Resort (Berjaya group) in Malaysia.
Abtar holds a bachelors degree in Physical Education and a post-graduation in Yogic Sciences and is also certified in Ayurvedic treatments, an ancient system of health care that is native to India.
Abtar seeks to convey the spiritual and physical benefits of yoga and to promote the benefits of yoga for a healthy lifestyle option and as a system of natural healing. He tells his students that when you practice yoga, you have time to explore and get in tune with your body. You can feel when to stop and when to move into a posture. This non-competitive nature of yoga is what makes yoga different from any other form of exercise.
He also had ample opportunities in conducting yoga classes to group and individuals from the rugby /polo team of Macau and a group of international professionals FMX motorbike riders such as Morgan Carlson the international dirt biker.
During his classes, Abtar likes to give a modern twist to the ancient yoga heritage and make it appealing to everyone. Abtar has taught to both eastern and western audiences and takes great satisfaction in seeing his students advance in yoga.
Swami Shiv was born in a Hindu Brahmin family and raised by his spiritual masters in the ancient legendary cave monasteries of the great yogis, where countless generations of yogis have been trained and initiated into deepest mysteries of the sacred science of Veda and yoga.
He was known from an early age as a foremost exponent and expert of the tradition; its texts and practices. He was a child prodigy with a flair for recitation of mantras for a prolonged time-span, practice of yogic techniques, meditating for hours and studying the ancient holy scriptures. After completing his studies he dedicated his whole life to follow the journey within by walking on the well-trodden ancient path shown by the Himalayan masters, sages, great yogis, and Vedic teachers.
A native of Rishikesh, known as "yoga capital of the world", Veeru started practicing yoga when he was studying in high school. He did a post-graduation in Yoga & Holistic Health and has won numerous yoga medals and trophies at district and national levels in India during his school days.
He has been teaching Hatha yoga, Ashtanga yoga, Vinyasa yoga, and meditation since his college days. He has been teaching at his center in Macau for the last couple of years. His classes are dynamic, challenging, and full of fun.
Sunayana was born in the international yoga destination city of Rishikesh, in the foothills of the Himalayas, where she started to practice yoga at age 12. After getting her bachelor in Psychology and English, she obtained a post-graduation in Yogic Science. Sunayana also holds an international teachers training course certificate and also certified in Iyengar yoga.
She worked as a yoga instructor in various yoga centers in Macau for more than 3 years. She is highly disciplined in her teaching style and ensures that all her students are performing yoga in the most safe and effective manner. She claims that Yoga and meditation help her find inner peace and clarity of mind when its clouded with too many thoughts. Her goal is to develop her students' flexibility and strength, while helping them find a balance between graceful movements and body awareness, alignment, and flow. She advises her students not to strain themselves, as yoga is, after all, the journey of a lifetime.
Dr. Ravi Kumar is a professional Ayurvedic doctor who has been practicing Ayurveda right after his graduation in Ayurveda medical science. He holds a PhD in Ayurveda and bachelor of Ayurveda medical science, and post graduate diploma in Yoga. He is the master of Ayurvedic healing sciences and practices.
Born and brought up in Rishikesh where every aspect of life is infused with yoga teachings and spirituality. However, his yogic journey did not start in younger days. As a child, he was fascinated with the Chinese martial arts instead.
He started practicing Hatha yoga solely for the physical benefits of the practice, as he wanted a more balanced physique. With time, he began to experience the immense transformative effects of practice of yoga on both physical and mental health. Yoga then became a holistic way of life to him rather than a purely physical asana practice. As he delved deeper understanding into the study of yoga traditions, he started to read ancient texts on yoga to understand its true essence. However, most of them were coded in Sanskrit and the available translation wasn't enough. He then eventually met his master. Over the course of learning, he also explored the Ashtanga and Iyengar systems, which further deepened the understanding of the Hatha yoga practice.
He teaches yoga and holds retreats in southeast Asia and India throughout the year.
Ramit is a qualified yoga instructor from Rishikesh (international capital of yoga), India and has had more than 8 years of teaching experience. His recent experience includes attachments in a fitness center named California Fitness (in Vienam). He regularly holds training programs in India and various parts of SE Asia.
Shankar has been practicing yoga since he was 11 years old in a traditional schooling. He followed his Guru Swami Janardananand Maharaj from Himalayas of Swami Shivananda tradition. He is holding a masters degree in yogic sciences.
He started teaching yoga in 2007 and holds teaching assignments in different part of India and SE Asia. Since 2011, he has been teaching in Vietnam. His teaching is focused on breathing & alignment of the body with traditional aspects including modern methodology.
Swami Adhyatmananda is a wondering monk who mostly spends his time in the Himalayas. He is based in Gangotri and travels all over India for teachings of toga philosophy and Ayurveda. He left home in early age to seek the truth of life and initiated into the tradition of monk by his master who had been living in the Himalayas. He has spent many years studying yoga philosophy, Ayurveda, and meditation under the guidance of his master. He has also done his studies in western philosophy and religion to understand the connection between eastern and western philosophical thoughts. He is one of regular visiting faculties of RHYI.
Shuani comes from the deep-rooted background of yoga practices. She has been practicing yoga from a very early age and had studies the ancient science under the guidance of her master. She has completed her studies in Yoga Science and Ayurveda in Kerala, south of India, which is known for its great heritage of Ayurveda and healing practices. She has been teaching and conducting workshops on yoga, Ayurveda, the healing science and life style program and regularly conducting classes in India and abroad.
The RHYI retreat center is a unique and ideal place of peace, tranquility, and joy and for yoga retreats and trainings. The lush green and exotic ambience close to the nature is designed according to Vaastu (science of architecture). Situated in the foothills of the Himalayas in Rishikesh, India, known as international capital of yoga, the retreat center offers an excellent facility for yoga participants. Diet and nutrition are an integral part of your yoga practice. As you progress in yoga practice, you have to take care of your diet with proper food and nutation. We at RHYI, provide a healthy, pure, and delicious vegetation food prepared by our own team of cooks and high standard of hygiene to keep in mind the proper yoga and nutrition diet for yoga participants. Our valued yoga aspirants are always incredibly impressed with the diversity, flavor, and creativity of our food preparation. The vegetarian food served during the retreats and training is specially prepared in accordance with the ancient Ayurveda principles.
