This retreat provides a gentle way to cleanse, nourish, rebalance your system, allowing you to return to your self. Your body is already an expert at detoxifying and restarting itself and what Rina Golan provides is time, space, methods, and practices to help you find a more balanced lifestyle. The groups are small, no more than 18 people, so that Rina can spend time with you and for the period of the retreat, you can spend time together as a living community.
The maximum participants in the group is 18.
Set in six acres, Holycombe Holistic Retreat Centre is built on the grounds of a Norman castle and has a water-filled moat, habitat for carp and dragonflies. A large sunny space called the angel room for group activities opens out onto a terrace. On chilly days, there is a log fire. A beautiful garden room for sharing meals and rose-scented terraces for eating al fresco overlook the pond and grass tennis court.
The retreat center is a residential venue and accommodation that is available for up to 17 people in shared and single rooms with extra heated glamping spaces available and camping in bell tents or bringing your own tent. Please note that smoking indoors is not allowed. You cannot also put your outdoor shoes upstairs.
You have to be quiet after midnight and do not bring any drinks except water in the angel room or bedrooms. Use of bedroom blankets outside and rugs for outdoors in the angel room cupboards is not permitted. Lastly, you are suggested to take a shower rather than a bath. Kindly ask Holycombe before using the hot tub.
The Lodge is part of Holycombe Holistic Retreat Centre. It is a fully contained holiday cottage with five bedrooms. It acts as the extended accommodation for retreats. Downstairs, there is a double room (king size), a room with three single beds, a bathroom, and a sitting room. Upstairs, the lodge can sleep up to six persons.
There are two twin rooms and another double room (which also has a single bed) as well as another bathroom. There is a kitchen, but residents on retreats eat together in the conservatory, using the course kitchen in the main house, but tea and coffee can be made in the lodge kitchen.
Main House is part of Holycombe Holistic Retreat Centre. There are five bedrooms in the main house which can sleep 9 to 12 people. Those include three double bedrooms used as doubles or singles and two twin bedrooms upstairs. One of the twin bedrooms has an en-suite and there is the use of two other bathrooms for the other guests. The two twin-room beds can zip together and make doubles.
The main house also has a beautiful healing room downstairs, with an en-suite bathroom which residents may also sleep in. There is a bathroom and a shower room both upstairs and downstairs. All indoor people need to bring top and bottom sheet, pillowcase and towels. Duvets and pillows are provided for indoor accommodation.
This retreat doesn’t entail harsh regimes or fasting. You will practice yoga together, exploring physical, mental, and spiritual balance through movement and breath. You will cook and eat together learning how food can nourish your body and balance your entire self. You will reconnect with nature and with your natural self in the beautiful family run, ecological spaces that Rina Golan has carefully chosen for the retreat.

Teaching yoga is a joy Rina has had the opportunity to offer guidance on the mat for the last 13 years. During the retreat, Rina Golan offers supportive, playful classes suited to beginners as well as those who have spent more time on a yogic path.
The classes focus on the liver and lymphatic system meridians using Vinyasa and Restorative yoga and breathing exercises to regenerate and support the nervous system. You will also look at companion breathing exercises to help alkalize the body and stimulate the liver function. You will finish the sessions with meditation or yoga Nidra, an ancient form of deep relaxation to set an intention and release deep tensions.
The retreat combines structure and space to just be, action and relaxation, an opportunity for learning and reconnecting, and opportunity for reflection. The retreat starts on Fridays at 16:00 (it’s okay to be late, just let Rina knows) and finishes at 15:00 on Sundays.
Rina is a well-being advocate, coach, yoga teacher, and healthy-living enthusiast. Rina went to India to deepen her understanding of Ayurvedic medicine, yogic conscious living, and the age-old laws of the mystics. Rina initiated into the ancient art of yoga at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala. She currently hosts detox or cleansing weekends and worldwide retreats, private vibrant lifestyle coaching, holistic rehabilitation programs, and private detox sessions. She is passionate about a balanced and holistic health.
This retreat will take place at Holycombe Holistic Retreat Centre. Holycombe is a beautiful residential holistic retreat center set in a verdant wooded valley on the edge of the Cotswold village of Whichford. A natural stream rises from a holy well in the nearby wood, passes through the grounds and down a waterfall. The sound of running water adds to the sense of peace and tranquillity.
A coppice provides shady outdoor space. There's a campfire area and a large stone circle on the castle site. Across a meadow is the ancient Whichford wood with many rare species of trees and plants, an abundance of wood anemones, primroses and bluebells in spring; chestnuts, blackberries, and sloes in autumn. Wildlife abounds, everything from Muntjack to polecats and kingfishers.
Beautiful, organic, seasonal, and where possible, local food is central to this retreat. Together, you will prepare and eat both cooked and raw foods chosen to nourish the body and support mental and physical balance.
Nourishment is a core element of the work and the retreat includes guidance and education of how you can use food to rejuvenate the self. During your time together, you will learn how to prepare superfood shakes, smoothies, cook healthy delicious food, including raw chocolate and turmeric shots (all sugar, gluten, animal, protein free).
There will be free time for you to pamper yourself with some treatments.
Buses from Oxford (Gloucester Green bus station) come as far as Chipping Norton (five miles away) so again a taxi is necessary. There are regular buses from London Victoria station to Oxford (Oxford Citylink and Oxford Tube). You can use the bus companies, such as Stagecoach in Gloucester Green, Oxford Tube, and Oxford Bus Company.
Oxford Bus Company includes airline coaches from Heathrow and Gatwick, and Oxford - Central London. From the north, there are trains via Birmingham to Stratford-upon-Avon, and buses from Stratford-upon-Avon to Shipston or Long Compton. From Shipston, you would need a taxi. From Long Compton, it is a 45-minute walk.
The nearest railway station (five miles away) is Moreton-in-Marsh which is on the Oxford-Hereford line. From London, you leave from Paddington station. From Moreton, you will need to get a taxi. It is a small country station so booking is a good idea.
You can get information about the public transport route and timetable from Traveline. The cost of a taxi is approximately 15 GBP. Banbury railway station is 12 miles away and can be reached from Paddington and Marylebone stations. There are plentiful taxis there.
