Haatiban Resort

Sited on a pine-forested ridge and seemingly far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, experience the peace and serenity of nature. Established in 1993, Haatiban is the second oldest resort in the Kathmandu Valley and is just 22 kilometers away. The resort offers the best views of the valley below and the snow-capped Himalayan Mountains spanning from Langtang till Gauri Shankar.

Hotel Mulberry

Set at the heart of Kathmandu, Hotel Mulberry offers spacious and elegant rooms with a complete range of services and facilities. With two dining options, a rooftop infinity pool, and its own spa and wellness center, the hotel is ideal for a perfect getaway. Guests can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Kathmandu from Koya Bar and Lounge or revitalize at the Cocoon Spa next to the signature infinity pool, one of the very few in Kathmandu. Hotel Mulberry is one of the first full-service lifestyle hotels in this center of tourism.

Located about 20 kilometers east of Kathmandu in the Kathmandu Valley, Bhaktapur is known as the "city of devotees", the "city of culture", the "living heritage", and "Nepal's cultural gem". It is one of the three royal cities in the Kathmandu Valley. Bhaktapur is filled with monuments, most terra-cotta with carved wood columns, palaces, and temples with elaborate carvings, gilded roofs, and open courtyards. The city is dotted with pagodas and religious shrines.

Day 1

Arrive at Kathmandu to meet Responsible Adventure's representative and transfer to Hotel Moonlight which is located just a stone throw away from Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu.

Day 2

Morning yoga before breakfast continued by a morning tour of Swayambhunath Stupa also popularly known as the Monkey Temple and

Patan Durbar Square, a world heritage site. The group will have lunch at Patan before driving up to Haatiban Resort. After checking into the resort, you will have the rest of the time to yourself. Orientation will be held in the evening before dinner.

Day 3

Practice morning yoga from 07:00 a.m. till 08:30 a.m. followed by breakfast. The group will visit Pharping and Dakshinkali. These places are very holy for both Buddhist and Hindus alike. The trail takes you along the local villages and Pharping monastery. A vehicle will pick the group up and drive everyone for about 15 minutes to Dakshinkali Temple.

The walks provide great views of the valley and mountains beyond. The trail is very gentle, butterflies and birds keep you company as you pass pine forest and colorful landscapes. This is a paradise for birds lover as you are never too far from an eagle stalk. The top of the hill is a sacred site, where locals gather to offer prayers and sacrifices.

Explore other cultural and religious sites around Pharping and visit monasteries and nunneries while you indulge in Buddhist culture and tradition. The group will have lunch in a Tibetan restaurant at Pharping or drive back to the resort for lunch. The afternoon is free or participants can opt for optional activities like massage services, healing meditation, or philosophy talk.

Day 4

Practice morning yoga from 07:00 a.m. till 08:30 a.m. followed by breakfast. Hike up to Champa Devi situated at an altitude of 2285 meters southwest of Kathmandu, it is a pilgrimage site with a Buddhist stupa and a Hindu shrine. Many pilgrims visit this place on the full moon. After the lunch break, the group will start hiking gradually up for about half an hour towards the north ridge and through the pine-forested area.

From there, the journey continues with hiking steadily up following the trail for about another one and a half hours to Champa Devi. The views of central and western Himalayan range are magnificent on clear days. The group can order a picnic lunch for this walk and chill out at the hilltop before returning to the resort.

Day 5

Practice morning yoga from 07:00 a.m. till 08:30 a.m. followed by breakfast. After breakfast, check out from this retreat and walk to Khokana for around 1360 meters, a traditional and tiny Newari village eight kilometers south of Kathmandu. It has its own history and has retained its tradition and culture. It is a living museum and recalls medieval times. Khokana has been nominated to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage, representing a native village and its mustard-oil seed industrial heritage.

Bungamati is the birthplace of Rato Machhindranath, regarded as the patron of the valley. After this, the group will drive to back to Neydo Monstery’s Guesthouse where you get to experience some monastic life.

Day 6

You will stay in a boutique guesthouse where there will be a cooking class and lunch at the guesthouse. In the afternoon, the group will visit Bhaktapur Durbar square.
