A significant weight loss kick start and detoxification journey! Education is intensified during this retreat to ensure you leave with the knowledge you need to make positive lifestyle changes at home. Leave feeling pampered, refreshed, and fabulous. Resolution Retreats will give you all the tools you need to take away to empower you to achieve your goals. This ten day intensive will introduce you to a healthy lifestyle and highlight the differences between your lifestyle choices at home and those of a healthy lifestyle through educational workshops. Daily yoga and fitness sessions along with healthy and nutritious meals will ensure you get the most out of your ten days with us and get a good start towards achieving your weight loss and health goals.
All ages are welcome as participants.
The retreat center is the epitome of luxury, as well as being environmentally friendly and designed encompassing the four elements of earth, air, fire, and water. Facilities on the retreat available for use by the guests are: outdoor geothermal heated lap pool - heated to 34 degrees; outdoor Jacuzzi - heated to 40 degrees; bush walks and wireless internet access.
In-room facilities include: king size bed (two king singles if twin-share), flat screen television, bathtub/Jacuzzi and shower, tea making facilities, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand cream, luxurious linen, towels and facecloths, iron and hairdryer. The rooms on the retreat are so divine that you will probably not want to leave; however, the organizers encourage guests to join them in the main living area by the open fire, to relax and get to know the other ladies - building relationships and support networks is a big part of Resolution Retreats values.
There are ten rooms available at the resort. Rooms are serviced daily and are allocated to guests in the order in which they book on the retreat.
Resolution Retreats was started with women specifically in mind - a place where women can get away from the everyday stresses and temptations of their lives to focus on themselves, improving their health, happiness, and losing weight.
Resolution Retreats is a live-in retreat environment - guests are immersed into the habits of a healthy and rewarding lifestyle. Ladies are educated, and habits begin to be formed. Physical fitness improves. Ladies start to see their body change and energy levels increase. Confidence is boosted. Ladies return home with a kick-start into their weight loss journey; armed with the tools, confidence and conviction to continue, all with the support of their new friends.
Resolution Retreats is specifically run by women, for women. The retreat has a small group so that the organizers can be more flexible to individual guests requirements. The retreat welcomes young ladies, elderly ladies, ladies with allergies, ladies with injuries, ladies with low self-confidence, ladies with children (which can visit you while youre on the retreat), brides-to-be, recently divorced ladies, ladies who want to lose 3 or 30 kilograms, ladies who have done yoga and those who havent, fit and unfit ladies. If you are a woman and want to lose weight and improve your health and happiness through focusing more on yourself and making positive lifestyle changes in a supportive and inclusive environment, this retreat is for you!
The retreat normally commences at 10:00 a.m. on day one. Guests are required to remain at the resort for the entire retreat period. Each day will vary in activities to keep the retreat interesting. Time-out and relaxation time will be plentiful, enabling you to de-stress while youre staying at the retreat. Resolution Retreats will send out a confirmed daily schedule seven days before the retreat commences. A detailed timetable will also be provided to you each day at breakfast so you can plan your day. The retreat concludes after lunch on the last day, normally between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m.
What sets Resolution Retreats apart from other services is that their belief that exercise should be fun, and should be sustainable when you return home. The amount of exercise suggested is to ensure that you will improve your health and fitness, but also not leave the retreat feeling exhausted, but instead revitalized and rejuvenated. Everybody will be at different levels of fitness, and the personal trainer will take into consideration your current level of fitness and your health and fitness goals when setting exercises for you. Daily yoga sessions will be between one and one and a half hours long, with mediation or Yoga Nidra (a state of conscious deep sleep for extreme relaxation and subtler spiritual exploration) at the conclusion. The yoga practiced on the retreat is a form of restorative yoga. Its a gentle form of yoga that works with organ functions and harmonizing the meridians to create health and well-being.
Finishing a class you will feel energized, open and you will not be able to stop smiling. Everybody on the retreat will have had various levels of experience with yoga and will be at different confidence levels, and these differences are embraced. Variations will be offered for those who are less comfortable in the poses - exercises are to be enjoyed.
There may be additional physical activities, such as bush walks, swimming, etc. Guest are encouraged to undertake additional exercises if they wish.
Rest days are vitally important for recovery and as such, rest and recovery days will be scheduled during the retreat timetable.
The facilitator on the retreat program is Joanne Andrews. It is Joannes role as the retreat facilitator to ensure the retreat runs smoothly and be the glue for the group. The retreat facilitator stays on-site during the 10 day retreat. She will ensure that you have everything you need and is available at any time, day or night. If you wake at 11 p.m. with a headache and need a painkiller - she is the lady to call. Jo is a highly motivated weight loss coach and has helped hundreds of ladies transform their health and lifestyle. Jo has worked in a variety of health clubs in both Australia and New Zealand throughout her 9 years in the industry. Jo believes in a balanced lifestyle focused around enjoyable physical activity and a great relationship with nutritious food. Just ask her about her cauliflower pizzas and chickpea cookies.
Jo is a qualified personal trainer with a bachelor in sport science from the University of Waikato. Jos gentle but realistic and encouraging approach is greatly appreciated by our guests. Exercise is supposed to be fun, otherwise, why would you do it? says Jo. When shes not taking you through a sunrise yoga session, you can find Jo in the kitchen whipping up innovative nutritious meals for the ladies on retreat to enjoy. Seeing the results that our guests achieve physically as well as the change in their confidence to continue on this amazing and worthwhile journey blows me away every retreat. We all have it in us and know what we should be doing, unlocking that potential in each of our ladies is such a pleasure.
Organizational extraordinaire, Joelene may be one of the most organized people you will ever meet. A background in accountancy has made her an incredibly motivated and focused individual. Joelenes passions are cooking, yoga and personal development in all forms. For fun, you will find Joelene conjuring up delicious food for herself and others at her Pukehina Beach home. I cook food that is healthy and will inspire your taste buds and make you excited to get into the kitchen yourself says Joelene. I live by the 80/20 rule and eat clean most of the time, but Im by no means perfect and I think thats something our ladies can relate to.
Joelene trained as a Group Fitness Instructor with Les Mills, in 2010, teaching yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates workouts that build flexibility and strength and leave you feeling centered and calm. However, Joelene particularly enjoys practicing Ryoho yoga. Ryoho is an oriental practice thats all about healing. Its a gentle form of yoga where we work with organ functions and harmonizing the meridians to create health and wellbeing. Finishing a Ryoho class you will feel energized, open and will not be able to stop smiling says Joelene. Getting up at sunrise to practice gentle yoga poses in front of the ocean is magnificent, plus everybody really enjoys the massage at the end, its all just a little bit special, especially for women who have a hectic lifestyle. Joelene also facilitates a number of retreats. I love meeting with our ladies and hearing their stories. Everyones journey is so different and I take a lot of pride in the fact that we can make a difference in their lives, which is really neat.
Claire is one of New Zealands most well-known nutritionists. As nutritionist for the Healthy Food Guide, Newstalk ZB, Healthy Food Ideas and the Millennium Institute of Sport, Claire trained as a dietitian and personal trainer in the UK before moving to New Zealand in 2005 to start her own nutrition practice - Mission Nutrition. Claire has recently published her second book, Feel Good For Life, after the success of her first book, Lose Weight for Life, and is a sought-after public speaker who regularly appears on TVNZ Breakfast, Newstalk ZB and other radio and television shows. Claire undertakes an interactive, educational and fun health and nutrition workshop on the retreat. Claire herself has been through body confidence issues and unhealthy relationships with food when she was younger, so can understand the challenges the guests face. Claire helps thousands of women a year become educated about food and health.
Meghan has helped hundreds of women all over New Zealand regain confidence and find their personal style. Meghan is a director of New Zealands own luxurious clothing label and retailer Repertoire. Meghan epitomizes the companys ethos of relaxed elegance, quality and versatility. Her natural joie de vivre teamed with her fierce need for practicality make her a much sough-after stylist. Working directly with customers Meghan and her team share knowledge on what styles suit different body shapes. Meghans team undertakes a one-on-one styling session with each the guests, taking the time to understand each guests lifestyle, personality and things that are important to her.
Caroline has a background in hairdressing and beauty and is a trained massage therapist. Caroline has made-over hundreds of women, teaching them easy tips and tricks to make them look and feel their best using make-up and beauty techniques, as well as being a make-up artist for weddings and photo shoots for LOreal. Caroline previously owned and operated a successful hairdressing and beauty salon in Mount Manuganui focusing on creating experiences which make clients feel pampered. More recently, this successful woman launched her own make-up and skincare range, M Collections, which has been incredibly popular. Caroline has one daughter, Geovana.
Nicola is the lovely personal trainer and fitness consultant. Nicola has been involved in the wellness industry since 2002. She has a bachelor of physical education, majoring in sports science and exercise prescription from the University of Otago, as well as having a level 2 Holistic Life Coach qualification and is a Les Mills Group Fitness Instructor. Nicola operates her own online gym which helps hundreds of people all over the world keep up regular and effective exercise. Nicola understands how to push you while still understanding your personal limits.
Anna is director of the Cardiac Clinic in Tauranga. She has a soapbox and she likes to stand on it and have her say. If youve ever been to one of Annas presentations youll know what we mean. Anna combines a robust scientific and academic background with an understanding that change comes from within, and that we often need a good deal of support to facilitate that change. She is an inspiring speaker whose honest and upfront message about health and taking personal responsibility for your own health arouses motivation in her audiences.
Leanne is director of Skin Medic Clinic and takes care of the beauty and pampering services on the retreat. Leanne is a sought-after beauty therapist who is well known for her healing hands and professional manner. So many guests come on the retreat expecting a standard massage or facial and come out referring to their experience as the best they have ever had; how can I book another?
Leanne trained in London and Australia and specializes in cosmetic and surgical tattooing, a form of appearance medicine which enhances the natural features of a womans face, including eyebrows, eyelashes, and lips to reduce the need for make-up and improve a womans confidence. Leanne is one of the few New Zealand beauty therapists to offer scar re-pigmentation and nipple re-creation for cancer patients, as well as non-laser tattoo removal.
The retreat is held at the Ridge Country Retreat resort, in the peaceful and serene hills behind Mount Maunganui. This retreat center is unique and its perfect to ensure ladies have the absolute in luxury during their stay. You will just love it!

Your meal plan whilst on the retreat will be designed by a nutritionist, with your specific weight and health goals in mind. Food will be cooked on-site in accordance with this meal plan, having regard to any food preferences and allergies. You will also receive a personalized meal plan for when you leave the retreat. The key concepts of this plan will be discussed during the retreat as part of the education sessions and during the daily cooking classes to ensure you make the most of the benefits the plan provides. You will be surprised by how much food you will be fed on the retreat - by no means will you go hungry! Its just good, clean food.
You are asked to drink a minimum of three liters of water during the retreat - this assists the detoxification process. The water at the retreat is directly from an underground spring, is absolutely delicious, natural and chemical-free.
Appoint a pampering and treatment session with a much sought-after local beauty therapist at the on-site beauty therapy clinic.
Golfers amongst the guests can try out the local golf course that is just up the road.
Join bush walks close to the property that will take you to exotic waterfalls or simply amongst the beautiful gardens.
Take a load off in the evenings with a good book in front of the open fireplace, watch a movie with the group in the theatre room, or retreat back to your room for some time to yourself amongst pure luxury.
Take a trip to Mount Manuganui and shop in Tauranga.

The retreat provides a number of beauty therapy treatments in the Retreat Beauty Suite. These include sessions with the personal stylist and make-up artist and one 45 minute session with the Beauty Therapist - therapy of your choice.
As you come down the Hill from Tauriko towards Tauranga you go through all four roundabouts and turn right at Welcome Bay (5th roundabout) RCR is 11 kilometers from that corner. Once you are out in the country Rocky Cutting Road is the third road on the right.
Head north and at Kihikihi follow signs to Cambridge then follow signs to Tauranga. As you come down the hill from Tauriko towards Tauranga you go through all four roundabouts and turn right at Welcome Bay (5th roundabout) RCR is 11 kilometers from that corner. Once you are out in the country Rocky Cutting Road is the third road on the right.
Follow the Motorway in from Bethlehem but do not take any off ramps. You will travel through two sets of lights and then make your way over an estuary and will turn right at the Maungatapu roundabout and then left at Welcome Bay roundabout. RCR is 11 kilometers from that corner. Once you are out in the country Rocky Cutting Road is the third road on the right.
Heading from Te Puke you travel towards Mt Maunganui and will turn left at Welcome Bay Road. Rocky Cutting Road is the second road to your left and the Lodge is 3 kilometers up that road.
