All accommodation options are on the beach, and include kitchens, bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and group hangout areas with slacklines set up on the property.

Open to all levels, this retreat supports a larger group of people hanging out, going out, and dancing around at plenty of parties and late nights. Mornings begin with a yoga practice or surf lesson followed by time to chill. Afternoons include adventures to new locations for climbing, slacklining, AcroYoga, Thai massage, and lots of handstands and playing on the beach.

Climbing, surfing, and slacklining adventures to several different locations will be a part of this retreat.

Adi Carter

Adi is founder and co-teacher of Redefining Yoga. She has been a lifelong student of practicing yoga off the mat in all shapes and forms, especially when it involves being outdoors. Her passion for movement and the environment has taken her on countless adventures around the world and she currently travels and teaches as part of the Yoga Slackers and co-ordinates the Redefining Balance retreats to share the modalities of shifting perspective through yoga, slacklining, AcroYoga, climbing, surfing, mountain biking, and just about anything else you can think to do on the earth’s terrain.

Traveling and teaching, often times with her car as a home base, you can find her somewhere in the vicinity of an ocean, climb site, mountain, or legit climbing tree as she works with students on and off the mat to discover a new sense of balance, strength, and focus in whatever their form of practice might be.

Adi’s adventures and environmental awareness endeavors have been featured in The New York Times, Yoga Journal, Outdoor Japan, New York Magazine, National Geographic, L.A. Yoga, Yoga + Joyful Living, Urban Climber, elephant journal, Current TV, and TIME for CNN.

Brian Davis

After being injured and bed-ridden for a month in 2002, Brian began practicing yoga as a form of physical therapy and rehabilitation. His practice continued beyond the physical recovery stage and now permeates all aspects of his life. For seven years he developed his personal practice, then Brian went on to complete a 250-hour teacher training in Asheville, North Carolina. In 2014, he completed his teacher certification for AcroYoga.

Brian practices and teaches a vigorous Vinyasa style of yoga. He blends strength-building poses and longer held deep stretches in a dynamic flow. Students should be comfortable moving and challenging themselves and experience is helpful.

Brian’s yoga practice reflects his approach to life; whether he is renovating a house, designing a website, or balancing a person on his hands, he is happiest when involved in activities that require a combination of creative and physical energies. Life flows and is more satisfying when challenges are met with a natural curiosity, enthusiasm, and humor.

Brian presently lives in Northeast Pennsylvania. He has lived in many places around the country; from New York to California and from Wyoming to South Carolina (as well as Colorado and Connecticut and North Carolina). Some places he enjoyed more than others, but they all had value as new and exciting experiences.

Chris Loebsack

Chris Loebsack, 500 E.R.Y.T, fell in love with yoga in 1995 and began teaching in 2003. Chris uses the power of yoga to create a space for students that cultivates trust, playfulness, and divine connection with themselves and with community. Living by her mantra, clarity, integrity, and love, she draws upon her partner yoga practice to share the healing power of touch and safe intimacy.

A passion for discovering subtlety in movement has lead Chris to deepen her education with the Anatomy Studies for Yoga Teachers® kinesiology program. Her playful yet focused classes are filled with user friendly gems of applied anatomy leaving students with a greater understanding of how to find comfort and space in their bodies and smiles beaming across their faces. She encourages teachers to set a higher standard of excellence through knowledge and has become a valuable mentor to many upcoming yoga educators.

Chris teaches privates, classes, and workshops across the globe. She is currently the director of the Boundless Yoga 200hr and 500hr Teacher Training programs and an Adjunct Teacher Trainer for the Om Factory® School of Yoga NYC 200hr, Bhakti Barn Yoga, Just Plain Yoga, and Twin Cities Yoga Collective 200hr Teacher Training programs. She has also been featured in Fitness Magazine®, Yoga Journal: Yoga Mentor, Good and Well, Local Flair Magazine, and the New York Times. In addition to yoga you are likely to find her rock climbing, laughing with friends and family, or quietly meditating with her cats (Sukha, Fuzz-butt, Gius, and Squirrel).

    "I believe people find Redefining Balance for a reason. Redefining Balance came into my life at a time of inner crisis. I had been living my life in accordance with the expectations of others, but where I really wanted to be was strapped to the side of a rock overlooking the sunset, or hands gliding through the water paddling to match the harmony of an approaching wave.     "Going on the 2014 Redefining Balance retreat was the one of the best and most spontaneous trips of my life. I was an office nurse, working the nine-to-five job in Boston, and needed something refreshing in my life. Ive never surfed, climbed, slack-lined, or even heard of Acroyoga. I was essentially the novice of the group and I was probably one of the few people ever who googled yoga retreat and ended up on this trip. To make matters even more uncertain for myself before the trip, my friend cancelled on me last minute, but I was eager and took the leap anyway and I couldnt be more grateful. Any hesitancy I had quickly turned around because every single person on this trip was so welcoming and cool. Everything about this trip was challenging for me personally, but in the most positive and eye-opening way. I came home with a deeper meaning for yoga, balance, and movement.     "I am a professor of computer engineering at the University of Delaware and I also play leadership part in two high-tech startup businesses: one to improve electric vehicles and another to make civilian and military airplanes safer to fly. I absolutely loved being part of the redefining balance 2013 retreat because it allowed me to learn new things and to meet and play with interesting people. I came to the retreat because of Acro yoga but discovered other sports like surfing, slack, lining and outdoor climbing.
