Accommodation

There are 3 gorgeous villas set on a huge private estate giving you a range of accommodation options to suit all budgets. There are 2 swimming pools shared between the 3 villas.

The grand villa has ten bedrooms. Two of these rooms are private suites with a dressing room and ensuite bathroom, three more are private ensuite rooms and five more share three bathrooms. Our spacious and beautiful Tuscan villa has eight ensuite bedrooms.

The Lemon Grove villa offers the quintessential Tuscan experience in a 3 bedroom self-contained villa covered with honeysuckle, set in the orchard with its own private gardens.

Your yoga retreat programme

The whole group will practice yoga together each morning for 2 hours. Morning classes will be an invigorating flow, so be prepared to be challenged.

Enjoy Emma’s distinctive, hypnotic melodic tone of voice which helps make challenging transitions easeful. Adam’s love of anatomy and creative sequencing makes his alignment based vinyasa classes the perfect compliment.

In the afternoons you can choose a focused workshop and explore your practice in more depth, work on anatomical alignment or turn up the volume and experience an advanced class. If you need to chill, skip the workshop and try a yin or gentle yoga class instead.

Our expert retreats chefs will create a week of high vitality and nourishment with healthy menus while our expert massage team will relax, heal and pamper you. There is time to explore Tuscany midweek on your day off. Trips to the nearby historical city of Lucca, Florence or the Italian Riviera are easily arranged from our location.

Emma Henry

Emma teaches Jivamukti yoga. Classes will include chanting, breath awareness, flowing vinyasa sequences, alignment exploration, hands-on assistance, relaxation, and meditation.

Adam Husler

Adam's creatively sequenced yoga classes feature long holds, controlled yet dynamic movements, intelligent alignment and deep exploration of depth in postures. Each class features a new sequence with a particular anatomical focus, so prepare to be kept on your toes and you explore mobility, flexibility, and strength. Adam seeks to remind all that an asana practice is a very subjective experience, so whether you are a yoga teacher or a yoga newbie prepare to work hard as classes contain plenty of options to challenge all.

Morning yoga

The whole group will practice yoga together each morning for two hours and a half. Classes will be led alternately by Emma or Adam. Classes will be an invigorating flow, so be prepared to be challenged.

Enjoy Emma’s distinctive, hypnotic melodic tone of voice which helps make challenging transitions easeful. Adam’s love of anatomy and creative sequencing makes his alignment-based Vinyasa classes the perfect compliment. On some days, Emma and Adam will teach together.

Afternoon yoga

In the afternoon, two classes will run at the same time so you can work in smaller groups with your teachers. You can choose from a 2-hour workshop with the specific focus where you can develop your practice, enhance your knowledge or take on a more advanced sequence, or take the 75-minute yin or gentle yoga practice.

Raw chocolate experience

Cacao is a superfood which has been savored for hundreds of years. In this workshop, you will understand the medicinal benefits of raw cacao, learn how to make a super-powered chocolate elixir, and create a healthful dessert for the whole group.

Wellness exploration

The focus is to bring you food which is locally sourced, freshly harvested, and organic. However, this is just one of the avenues of wellness. In this workshop, you will explore how to bring three other elements into your kitchen and easily implement them into your daily routine.

Start the day with tea followed by your morning yoga class which starts at 08:00. This class will take about 120 minutes. A big breakfast created by the chefs is served around 10:00 and then you have some time to rest and digest your morning.

After lunch, there is time to explore, swim, and book massages. On some afternoons, there will be a cooking class and you will be given a light snack an hour before the afternoon class.

Evenings are relaxed and people often sit chatting or have early nights. Sometimes people head out into town for the evening. Midweek you have a day off. There is an optional class in the morning and then trips to Lucca, Florence, the beach or anywhere else can be organized if you feel like exploring.

Instructors

Emma Henry
(Jivamukti Yoga)
Emma was introduced to yoga in the mid-90s and has been teaching since 1998. Her background in dance and martial arts is evident in her dynamic, innovative, and playful choreography and understanding of anatomy and the subtle body. Her yogic path has led her to Mysore from practicing Ashtanga with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois to advanced certification in the Jivamukti method. She is an advanced certified Jivamukti teacher and facilitates the Jivamukti teacher training with Sharon Gannon and David Life.
Adam Husler
With experience in the boxing ring, on ultra marathon routes, studying law, and with nine years of having a yoga mat in hand, Adam brings a unique perspective to his yoga teaching. His love of anatomy has led him to specialize in alignment-based Vinyasa yoga. Based in London, Adam teaches regular classes and workshops, along with international and online teaching.

Retreat location

The retreat will be held in Tuscany, Italy. Located on a huge private estate on a terraced hillside with olive groves, woodland, and views of the Pizzorne mountains, this is a wonderfully picturesque place for your yoga retreat. You'll be near Ponte a Moriano, a small Italian town in the Tuscan hills, close to the medieval walled city of Lucca.

Food

The price of the retreat includes daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as soft drinks, except during your midweek free day. During your yoga retreat, you will be served a delicious, healthy plant-based breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day prepared by the expert plant-based chef, Saba Rahbar and local kitchen whiz, Teri Mammini.

The menus are designed to support your yoga practice, so you can expect tasty and sustaining plant-based meals. Our food is sourced from local farmers and some of it is grown on the estate. You can read more about plant-based food in our FAQ section.

You will have plenty of herbal teas, infusions and drinking water, and it’s a great idea to power down by having less caffeine while you are with us. We don’t serve caffeine or alcohol but there are local cafes and bars nearby.

During mid week, this retreat have an optional day off so you can relax, rest, or head out to explore beautiful Tuscany.

Lucca

The historical town of Lucca is fifteen minutes away by train, making it an easy day trip from the villa. Lucca has an unspoilt medieval centre which is totally enclosed by walls. It has barred all general traffic from driving within the city walls and the locals tend to cycle everywhere. There are many places to hire bicycles, both by the city walls and within the center.

Once inside the city there are many historical buildings, some dating back to the eighth century. All around these buildings there is a maze of little winding streets which disappear into alleys, lead down to vaults or suddenly open up into a sunny square filled with bars and cafes.

Beach trip

Viareggio is about 40 minutes away. It is one of the best beaches in Tuscany so it will be busy and fun. You can book into one of the private beach clubs for around 25 EUR per person which includes a sunbed, shade, nd swimming pool.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Pisa International Airport (PSA). You can fly directly from UK with British Airways, Easyjet, and RyanAir. Fares will be around 200 GBP. You are advised to book early to avoid higher fares.

You can join the minibus pick up arranged by Reclaim Your Self which will depart Pisa International Airport (PSA) at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, 2019, for 30 GBP per person one way. There will also be a return minibus departing at 10:00 a.m. on your final day.

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN

You can catch the train from Pisa Centrale Train Station to Ponte a Moriano. The journey takes around an hour and costs around 5.20 EUR one way. You will need to change at Lucca. From Ponte a Moriano, the villa is less than ten minutes away on foot.
