Join Jivamukti yoga teacher, Emma Henry, for an extraordinary yoga retreat in Northern Iceland. You will stay at a stylish private farm in cozy cabins set at the end of a remote valley, surrounded by beautiful mountains. During this retreat, you will enjoy daily yoga classes and delicious vegetarian meals. There will be time to relax and enjoy the bathhouse or book a massage. You can add options to hike in the mountains, ride Icelandic horses, watch whales in the fjords depending on how action-packed you would like your retreat to be. You finish with a day out exploring the Lake Mývatn geothermal region and a sunset soak in the thermal pools. With any luck, you will see the Northern Lights too.
During this retreat, you will stay either in a private or shared cabin. The family-run location includes newly built cabins, a traditional farmhouse, a yoga barn, bathhouse, sauna, and an outdoor hot tub. There are eight beautiful cabins that have mountain views. Each lodge has an upper loft with a double bed and a single bed on the main floor. There is a bathroom with a shower in each apartment. There are also three private rooms in the farmhouse. These rooms are cozy and comfortable with shared bathrooms so are offered at a lower rate.
This retreat combines yoga and adventures in wild nature. Practicing yoga and meditation in the Icelandic wilderness can be a liberating and powerful experience. The location in Northern Iceland is an inspiring wilderness, perfect for exploring so you can truly immerse yourself in all that Iceland has to offer. North Iceland offers the ideal setting to watch Northern Lights. They happen when the interplay of many natural factors, such as cold temperatures, cloudless skies, and high solar activity combine perfectly, so to see the dance of the lights is a gift of the Northern winter.
If you would like to try horse riding, choose the two-hour scenic ride through the valley on gentle horses or if you are an experienced rider, you will enjoy the three-hour fast-paced horseback adventure. There is an additional cost for this activity.
