Windhover Performing Arts Center is a dance camp which offers its facility for yoga retreats. This is a quaint and rustic venue. This offers charmingly rustic shared cabins with double or triple occupancy. All cabins are uniquely designed by Hugh. Limited singles are available for an extra fee. Bathroom and shower facilities are located in a separate centrally located building. No air conditioning is available, however, fans are provided.

The style is very much like going to summer camp! Meals are served from the music barn which boasts a kitchen and large casual living room setting seating. Most meals will be enjoyed at the outside picnic area so you can enjoy the nature of the countryside. Yoga is held in the large airy studio space as well as the outdoor performing arts area.

Through ancient teachings of Kundalini yoga, meditation, and chanting with Kaylan (Nancy) and Armabir, Real Life Yoga cultivates clarity of mind and creates space to see your own wisdom and intuition. You will transform your limitations, remove subconscious blocks, and drop your story in order to frame a new vibrant experience. In Kundalini yoga, summer solstice is a celebration of the return to light, and it so powerfully reminds you of the light within you. During solstice, the part of the sun’s cycle and its impact on earth where rewards are reaped from the harvest is acknowledged. That is why it is the perfect time to spend outdoors to soak up powerful sun energy, show heartfelt gratitude, and celebrate the abundance and blessings that are in your life. This is about celebrating one's abundance and giving thanks to all that you have, from wealth to good health, and all that is in between.It is an expansion and awareness of energy and information, inspiring an evolution in dignity, strength, sacredness of female empowerment, and consciousness.

This retreat will align perfectly with the summer solstice, giving you an opportunity to celebrate this transition by releasing that which does not serve you to create space for deepening wisdom and alignment. Real Life Yoga looks to the solstice as a reminder of the capacity to reset and start a new phase with every breath and every thought. In the morning, you will have the chance to also rise with the sun by starting the day with an optional 4:30 a.m. morning Sadhana (meditation) before the morning yoga practice.

This retreat includes six kundalini and meditation classes (with Gong meditation) and two morning Sadhanas (traditional Kundalini early morning style). Herbal workshop with Amabir, group art project, breath walk at beach and Halibut Point and special sunset meditation.

Kundalini yoga opens your body, mind, and spirit. Each class consists of pranayama (breathing techniques), yoga asanas, and kriyas (set of yoga asanas ) to strengthen your muscular, nervous, and glandular systems. Every class concludes with a gong meditation as well as a chanting (mantra ) or pranayama meditation. Kundalini yoga is the experience of you in yourself! This is for all levels.

This retreat will take place at Windhover Performing Arts Center in scenic Rockport, Massachusetts. It is a magical place located in historical, scenic Rockport, the place of art culture. It was founded in 1968 by Ina Hahn and her husband as a dance camp and has since emerged as a center for the performing arts. The charmingly rustic cabins at set on 5 acres in a country like setting in this Oceanside town, next to the magnificent Halibut State Park, home of the quarries and rocks formations of the coast. These are located 1 mile from the commuter rail, a very easy commute from all locations.

How to get there

Driving directions from Gloucester

  • Follow Route 128 north to the rotary in Gloucester.
  • Go halfway around the rotary and continue on the extension of 128.
  • Then, go halfway around another rotary shortly after this.
  • At the bottom of the hill, at the traffic lights, turn to the left to Rockport.
  • Continue about 3 miles until you come to a 5-way intersection (five corners) and turn left (Railroad Avenue to Pigeon Cove). Stay on this road, which becomes Route 127 around Cape Ann.
  • After about 1.5 miles, you pass a large factory building on the right (ocean side) and climb a long graded hill.
  • At the top of the hill, watch for the blue and white sign saying “Windhover” on the right.
  • Drive into the parking lot near the sign. Park and walk through the field.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to Logan International Airport (BOS). Transfer from and to this airport is available at an additional cost.

Arrival by train

Take the commuter rail to Rockport from south station in Boston, which is accessible from Logan International Airport (BOS) as well. Transfer from the commuter rail is available at an additional fee.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 30 days before the arrival date.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 45 days before arrival.
