Spending a weekend at Cape Anne doing Kundalini yoga is one of the best ways for me to forget the drama at home and to find myself again. I have attended this retreat twice and find the expertise of Nancy and the soothing ambiance of the retreat center to be very refreshing. There is plenty of opportunity for socializing and many opportunities for quiet reflection and contemplation. My favorite activities are the early morning meditation at Halibut Point and SUP yoga—it’s easier than you think. Spending time in Rockport on the way home rounds out the weekend.
The Rockport yoga retreat with Nancy and the Real Life Yoga crew was a truly relaxing experience. I took part in the Kuandalini weekend and I highly recommend this healthy getaway for anyone who needs to take a break from the hustle and bustle of every day life. This is a great opportunity to get in touch with your inner world with asanas, mantras and meditation while doing a mixture of stretches and increasing flexibility for your body.
It is clear that Nancy takes special time and care in making this a yoga experience that is well thought out with a variety of yoga classes and other activities like paddle boarding, campfire meditations, time by the beach, art therapy, walking meditations, etc. Healthy meals are provided throughout the weekend that are not only good for the body but so delicious!
The rustic cabins bring back nostalgic memories of when I was a kid and slept over at girl scout camp. You feel like you are really "away" in this quiet, scenic sanctuary.
Do this replenishing weekend with other likeminded yogis for your soul, body and mind-and you won't forget it!
Great exercise for the body and soul presented by a wonderful, professional instructor/teacher. Outstanding group of “girls," yummy food, fun arts program, walking trails - awesome side trips, - all set in the gorgeous surroundings of Rockport! I enjoyed it so much that I have gone to both retreat sessions each year. Come and join this special Yoga re-‘treat'!
I have attended the Nancy West’s kundalini yoga retreat for the past two years and will make it an annual tradition. Nancy is a true yogi spirit. She organizes a weekend that includes activities that nurture your body, mind and spirit. In addition to morning sadhana and classes she teaches throughout the day, you can enjoy a great nature walk at Halibut Point State Park (less than a mile away) or be more adventurous and take a yoga paddle boarding class. Meditation and social time by the fire was a perfect ending to our day. It’s a great group of down-to-earth women. I leave feeling renewed every year. Thank you Nancy!
Real Life Yoga
Everyone deserves to have peace of mind, and that is exactly what this yoga retreat did for me. I was able to get into a meditative state of mind after one of the many yoga classes included in this retreat. The schedule was enough to fill your day, with out being overwhelmed that you are on a schedule. It was as if every decision was made for you, in your best interest and if you just went with the flow you were able to completely let go and relax and find inner peace and happiness . Which is what I did on this amazing Rockport retreat. Not to mention the incredible women I met who were all there for the same reason , to nourish the spirit. Some participated in all the activities, while others found their own nitch. It was all good whatever your needs were. And lets not forget the food. AMAZING. It was all delicious high quality food that left the body satisfied and nourished. I cannot wait until next year! I highly recommend this experience, well worth it :) Namaste.
