I had a wonderful week at the Rasa retreat. From the first day to the last. We were personally picked up from the airport in the early morning hours. The welcome was warm and hospitable. I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere without any obligations. Pawan and his team made every possible effort to make our stay a memorable one. I would definitely recommend the Rasa retreat to those who want a beach/yoga India experience!

I found Rasa through BookYogaRetreats.com and went for the 7 day package. I went as a solo female traveler and I couldn't have felt safer. Pawan and his team are all absolutely lovely and do anything and everything to make sure you are happy and having a good time. The attention to detail is unbelievable. The rooms are well furnished, sizeable and very comfortable so I was pleasantly surprised there. The sunrise/sunset yoga was at a pace that everyone could maintain which I thoroughly enjoyed and both the yoga instructors are very friendly. The excursions were great fun, I did the hike and Cabo de Rama both of which I would strongly recommend. We also did a cooking lesson which was good fun and we got all the recipes too. The massages were also good and if you could opt to try different masseuses too. The pool area is also very nice. Then the food....the food is just too good so the detox did NOT happen but for a good reason! But if you were to want to detox they cater for every need you could possible have. Getting your own personalized schedule daily was also a special touch. All in all it was a great choice to go to Rasa and I hope to go back in the future-and would highly recommend to anyone thinking about it. Thank you Pawan and team Rasa!

I have just returned from the most amazing trip to Rasa Retreat. I cannot speak highly enough of Pawan and his team. They were exceptionally. There was a fantastic itinerary set out for the week - daily yoga on a beautiful beach (doesn't get much better than Sun Salutation to a setting sun), full body massages every second day, wonderfully interesting and fun excursion, fun cooking lessons and even better food (with different napkin displays every meal), plus lots of down time if you wished. But more than that, the team couldn't do enough for you. Anything that peaked your interest was accommodated with a smile - a trip to the local market, boat cruise, visit to a nearby salon, a request to do yoga twice a day and you couldn't even lay out your own yoga mat - too slow :) Pawan even went to the effort of driving back to take a photograph of a sign for me that I had missed. It’s a “home stay” rather than a fancy retreat - the team is so attentive and accommodating you cannot but love it. Thank you all at Rasa – I will be back.

I had the most incredible stay in Kashmir last week and experiencing major post holiday blues! Everything about this trip was WOW. The bespoke and fully customised itinerary that Pawan put together for me was just perfect! I wanted a truly authentic experience of Kashmiri culture and nature and that is exactly what I got thanks to Pawan and his amazing team!

This is my second retreat with Rasa (first one was in Goa in March) and it was just as perfect, if not better! The beauty of Kashmir surpassed all of my expectations, especially the kindness, generosity and warmth of the locals that I met and spent time with.

Safety - As a solo female traveller I felt safe at all times and was well taken care of - Kashmiri and Rasa's hospitality is second to none! I will definitely be back again to experience more trekking adventures and the great lakes!

Activities - I wanted a combination of sightseeing, yoga and hiking. Pawan meticulously organised a nicely balanced combination of all activities for my 6/7 day trip. The mesmerizing Mughal gardens were a real treat with the flowers in full bloom complimented with the fresh cool mountain air - I only wish I had more time to enjoy lounging around at the parks. Srinagar is rich in beautiful monuments and parks - Shankaricharya temple was a favourite of mine with sweeping views of the city!

My daily private yoga sessions with experienced yogi master Shabir were a great way to stretch out after challenging yet fun hikes in the mountains nearby. Pawan selected various beautiful spots around Srinagar for my yoga classes which made the experience so much more special.

An overnight stay at a cosy cottage in Pahalgam coupled with hiking that delivered rewarding views were a great way to immerse myself in nature and experience the glorious mountain views.

I spent my last night on a luxurious houseboat (Sukoon) in the middle of Dal lake - which I highly recommend for a unique experience!

Food/Other - having very specific dietary requirements, Pawan and his team ensured all my meals were cooked and prepared according to my (many!) limitations and the meals were absolutely delicious! Apart from the food, the Rasa team has great attention to detail, always carrying supplies such as water, mosquito repellent tissues, and snacks in case I would need it. They also remembered how much I love flowers and always placed flowers on my yoga mat or at meal times which was a sweet touch. As I was visiting during Eid, I was honoured to be invited for meals at Sajad and Sajid's house with their family which was so special! They welcomed me into their homes and cooked delicious traditional Kashmiri Wazwan - it was a special experience to share Eid meals together!

Accommodation - Greenwoods Inn was a cosy and lovely home stay experience and so were the family that welcomed me and treated me so kindly - Thanks Aunty-ji, Uncle-ji and Umar :) Aunty-ji's cooking is also finger licking good! The room was spacious and very comfortable with snacks and a mini bar that was always replenished.

Team - massive thank you to the entire Rasa team (Pawan-Sajid-Sajad-Coco and everyone else) for making this trip a truly memorable one in so many ways and for spoiling me rotten with your generosity, care and kindness. I can't wait to be back!

From start to finish we had a truly lovely time with Pawan and his Rasa family in Goa.

Before we arrived and throughout the stay Pawan was really accommodating to our needs and personalised everything for us, with such a lovely attention to detail.

The stay was wonderful, the yoga and food was great and we did all the activities we intended to do despite the monsoon rains!

Nothing was too much trouble with Pawan and Sajad always going the extra mile for us. We were looked after so well and had such an unforgettable experience. Thank you.

Would definitely recommend highly to others.

RASA in Kashmir - Yoga, Hiking and so much more....

Pawan and his wonderful "Rasa Family" have not only their heavenly retreat on the beach in Goa, but are also the PERFECT hosts for tailor-made holidays in beautiful Kashmir.

I wanted to spend my vacation in Kashmir and combine sightseeing with yoga and hiking there.

Okay - Kashmir is not THE number one yoga destination, and so it took me a while to organize this trip.

Then I got in contact with Pawan, and from our first emails on I knew that HE is the person who will make my trip to Kashmir as wonderful as I could ever have dreamed of.

Pawan planned this week 100 % according to my wishes and everything he organised worked out perfectly fine.

Every evening I got the programme for the next day, and it was always a nice mix of yoga, sightseeing, hiking and of course enjoying the culinary delights of this area.

I was also soooo lucky that Joseph, the yoga teacher of Rasa Goa, happened to be in Kashmir as well.

Joseph is a GREAT teacher, not only for yoga, but also for the philosophy of it.

I learned a lot by listening to him - about yoga, of course, but also about so much more what is really important in life.

Yoga lessions took place either in a mughal (public) garden, on an island on Dal Lake, in the mountains, or "at home" - in the garden.

During this week I stayed at Greenwoods Inn, a lovely homestay, with a wonderful host family, very well located close to Dal Lake and Nishat Garden.

The host-mum is an excellent cook, and so is Pawan, and they shared the cooking part and spoilt me with delicious Kashmiri and Indian dishes.

In fact I was spoilt the whole week, from everyone of the Rasa Family.

Pawan, Sajid, Firdous and Sajad - they all were so kind and attentiv - and took very well care of me, even after my week with Rasa. I felt so much at ease with them and I am very grateful for all their support and kindness.

Srinagar is a bustling city with many jewels to be discovered, and its Mughal Gardens are just beautiful and full of flowers in June.

The lakes in town and the mountains surrounding the city offer many opportunities for relaxation and outdoor activities (hiking, horse back riding, etc).

At all the places we visited I felt perfectly safe and welcome.

Kashmir is a wonderful area to visit and offers so much, especially for outdoor fans.

And Kashmiri people make all they can to provide a memorable stay to all their guests and tourists. (Please VISIT - it´s so well worth it..... )

A big THANK YOU to Pawan and the whole Rasa Family for this unforgettable week with you in beautiful Kashmir- I will be back....!

I spent 7 days at Rasa Retreat and I thought I had died and gone to heaven Lol!!!

This was a solo female trip, and I have to say I felt totally safe and knew I was in good hands with Pawan and the Rasa Family … they took good care of me and the other solo females that were there at the same time as me … when we wanted to go to the beach, shopping etc… there was always a Rasa Retreat Family member accompanying me or the other solo females as well …. What an amazing team.

Words cannot express how amazing my stay was.

Pawan thought of everything from fluffy white towels in the massive ensuite to the

Yummie chocolates on my bed side table every night … and a basket full of snacks and plenty of water.

I had just finished a 15 day tour in North Goa and had arranged a driver from Rasa Retreat to pick me up. On arrival at my North Goa Hotel the driver welcomed me with a seashell necklace and a refreshment … lovely touch.

My driver even stopped for me to catch up with a friend in Candolim who I hadn’t seen for 20 years on the way to Rasa Retreat, South Goa.

Pawan and his team think of everything … Chef Shaker and his helpers made the most delicious food, fresh and plenty.

I had the opportunity to do both Sunrise and Sunset Yoga on the beach and that was an amazing experience with both Joseph and Jeez … great yoga teachers.

Activities ranged from a cruise along the river out to the ocean to spotting dolphins, lunch on board.

Spice Farm where the women were spoilt with having flowers placed in their hair, followed by a lovely lunch.

The trip on the back of a motor bike to the Hindu Temple was a highlight for me, followed by a yoga class and a picnic overlooking the stunning valleys!

We also had the opportunity to go to a private beach where we went off the beaten track and trekked down a hill to a beautiful beach and watched the sunset, with drinks and nibbles.

We also had lots of fun in the kitchen … cooking lessons and then we got to eat what we cooked.

Before dinner each night we had a sociable happy hour where we got to spend time with the other guests.

Well, as I said above I thought I had died and gone to heaven … I am definitely coming back here …. What an incredible experience from my amazing room, exploring the culture, getting in and having fun with cooking, quality time alone, beautiful food and of course wonderful new friends …. and I have come home totally relaxed and at peace … Once again “Thank you Pawan and the Rasa Family” for everything.

      Love you all!!

Pawan and his staff are some of the most friendly and accommodating people I have ever stayed with. I highly recommend Rasa Retreat.

Pawan is happy to do almost anything for the happiness of his guests.

The Rasa house is very nice inside and my room upstairs was very big with a huge bathroom and private deck - ideal for some mediation or just reading.

Each day Pawan provides a card with the schedule for the day. A typical day might begin at 6:30 or so with some hot chai. Yoga on the beach is usually at 7:30 followed by breakfast at the house. Excursions were after breakfast or after lunch. The afternoon is time for some alone time or a massage. I spent my time meditating or reading on the deck.

The morning yoga sessions at 7:30 are mostly on the beach about 1 km away. Pawan’s staff drive the guests to the beach where you arrive to find mats set up on the firm sand with towels, bottled water and a flower on each towel. Our instructor, Joseph was wonderful. His classes were a nice mixture of Hatha and Ashtanga. He is very good at freeing the joints at the start of each session, varying the asanas each time, and ending with a really good guided body scan meditation during savasana. It is incredibly wonderful to do yoga to the sounds of the waves from the Arabian sea as they wash onto the shore. I also had one evening yoga session just before sunset which was delightful. On the few days when I was the only guest Joseph tailored the class to my level (and a bit beyond). It was good to be pushed a little and have my posture adjusted as I worked on a pose.

The beach is very, very long and was almost deserted in places when I was there in March/April. The sand at the top of the beach is nice to walk on. Nearer the water it packs down hard enough to run on in shoes without leaving much of a print. I found it a bit of a slog running in the heat and humidity. It was cooler running in the mornings at first light before yoga but the day heated up pretty fast. I also ran on the beach one evening but it was still too hot and humid to work very hard even as the sun was setting.

Pawan’s dog Coco is an interesting addition to the house crew. She loves to be petted but growls at you while you’re doing it. She has quite the personality.

The food at the house is outstanding. There is great variety and I found all of it very tasty. Pawan was happy to accommodate my vegetarian needs. Pawan makes sure that any leftover food is either eaten by his team or goes to the neighbors. Nothing is wasted which is good because we were often served a lot more food than we could eat. We also had several cooking lessons which were a lot of fun. I have been making what I’d call Indian food for many years but it was wonderful to actually cook real Indian food in India.

During my six day stay I went on several excursions and a shopping trip. We (the guests) were driven everywhere we needed to go, even if that was on individual shopping trips. On my shopping trip Agnelo, Pawan’s driver, made sure I didn’t get lost amongst the many t-shirt sellers and once he waited while I got my change as the vendors seem to need to wander off to get that - I think in the hope that you will give up waiting and leave.

Probably the best excursion we went on was one evening to a small beach where we walked down a cliff path past many monkeys. We swam in the very warm sea and played volleyball on the beach until after sunset. Pawan’s team provided a nice picnic while we were there. It was great to play volleyball with his crew (who are all much younger and far better than me).

The staff will do your laundry if you ask. I found this very helpful as I’d already been in India a few days before going to the retreat and clothes get damp every day from the humidity.

The weather during my stay, which started in March and ended in April, was hot (85 - 90F) and humid. The Rasa house and bedrooms have A/C and it was nice to be able to sleep in the cool.

I find it hard to express just how wonderful the whole experience was. Pawan and his team might well be the nicest, most accommodating hosts on the planet. They made me feel more than welcome; they made me feel part of their extended family.

I spent 5 days at Rasa retreat and can't express how wonderful it was, in every way possible! This was a solo female trip, and I felt 1000% safe at all times thanks to Pawan and his amazing team!

Even before arriving, Pawan sent me a questionnaire to learn more about what I'd like to get out of this holiday and he assured me that his team and him would accommodate my strict dietary needs which already put my mind at ease.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by the driver and whisked off to the retreat and welcomed with a seashell necklace and a refreshment which was a lovely touch. I was given a tour of the house and made to feel utterly at home! My room (Preeti) was spacious with the perfect temperature and equipped with all the necessities, from bathroom amenities to snacks and plenty of water.

Chef Shaker makes the most delicious food, cooked fresh to order and you are totally spoiled for choice in terms of food and taken care of in every way! Hospitality and attention to detail at Rasa was top notch and at a level I haven't even seen in many 5 star hotels/resorts. Pawan and his team are extremely considerate and think of everything!

The activities that were organised were great too! Yoga was my priority and the instructors; Joseph and Jeez were amazing. The yoga on the beach is set up before you even get there with the mats, fresh flowers, cold water and a towel which was a sweet touch! Each activity was different and fun in its own way but my favourites were the Spice farm and the hike to the Hindu temple followed by yoga and a picnic overlooking the stunning valleys! There also some fun cooking lessons and of course the sociable happy hours where you get to spend time with the other guests staying at the retreat.

All in all, I would love to make this a regular retreat for myself as the experience I had here was incredible! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get away to a beautiful destination, explore the culture, immerse yourself in fun activities, have some quality alone time, eat delicious food and make new friends along the way!

      Can't wait to be back!

Massive thanks to Pawan and his team for their kindness, attentiveness and generosity!

Advance warning! I had such a positive experience at Rasa that I am having trouble distilling this review to a manageable length - read on if you have time, but long story short, I am 30, an American, pescatarian and solo female traveler, and I stayed at Rasa for 9 days (3/4/17-3/12/17), and had an amazing time.

In my opinion, Rasa Retreat is ideal for:

      - Travelers who have a sense of adventure, but desire a relaxing, seamless and comfortable introduction to India (with the the ease of a all-inclusive). Rasa offers this and more - an intimate and local experience, much more so than a typical massive all-inclusive resort would be able to provide.

      - Foodies: this is the place to stay for you. Between the cooking lessons and the special Goan melting pot of southern India, Portuguese colonization, and fresh seafood - you are in for a culinary experience like none other. Rasa's chefs fully embrace these influences and then some - want to try northern Indian, Thai, Burmese, Kashmiri, etc. dishes? Or had a bit too much wine at happy hour and you're just hungry for a good pizza? They can do it all. Plus our excursion to a nearby spice plantation was fascinating and only enriched my experience in the kitchen (and dining room!).

      - Yoga practitioners of all abilities - they can adjust all poses to fit your ability level. I am generally inflexible and a relative beginner to yoga, but yet I managed to do a headstand by the end of the trip. There is something about OHMM'ing in India that motivated my practice like nothing else :)

      - Unfussy beach lovers: Simple and quiet, delightfully detached from the massive tourism trappings found elsewhere in Goa. Swim, kayak, play volleyball and sunbathe at your leisure - during this time of the year, the only company we had during the week were some friendly stray dogs, one lady selling sarongs, and some older Russian tourists who kept to themselves, and a few locals. Plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas to go around. There was also a simple beach hut selling cold Kingfishers - nothing else was needed.

ARRIVAL: I was welcomed at the airport at 6:30am Goa time by Pawan and his driver, Sajid - with a seashell necklace and cold bottle of water. On the way to Rasa, Pawan briefed me on the fascinating history of Goa while I took in the sights - dawns, as well as sunsets, are absolutely breathtaking there.

ACCOMMODATIONS: The Rasa Retreat house is situated within the edges of gated community. It was peaceful, and I liked waking up to a rooster's crow, and the sounds of the Varca community starting their day (minor traffic sounds, kids walking to school, etc). If that bothers you, it's nothing that a pair of cheap earplugs can't fix ;) During the day, the complex and the neighborhood surrounding the complex is very quiet for the most part. Pool is very nice, and my room and adjoining bathroom were both lovely, clean and comfortable.

EXCURSIONS: Loved all of the offered excursions - Spice Plantation, hike to Hindu temple (Shiva), Cabo de Rama fort & beach, riverboat cruise on the River Sal, Anjuna Saturday night market...wonderful.

STAFF: Pawan and his staff work hard to create an intimate environment where you feel totally comfortable and safe. Everything was so relaxed and so seamless - they really bend over backward to cater to your every need & desire. They were just a lovely group - it was great getting to know them. Pawan even went out and procured a special Indian sweet just for me. A driver is available anytime you want to go to the beach (it's about a 15 minute walk), and they take you to all excursions. My 3 included massages were heavenly, and they were even able to accommodate an extra one for me after I pinched a nerve in my neck.

In short, Rasa felt like home to me, but better - this retreat was exactly what I needed to unwind. Exceptional staff, food, and activities - if there is a more relaxing & restorative getaway out there, I don't know what it is! Made friends that I will never forget. It was truly a trip of a lifetime & excellent introduction to India - beautiful people & country. I will be back!

And full disclosure: I'm married, but elected to book this trip solo for some personal R&R. Although the setting is perfect for both couples and families alike, I was fortunate enough to bond with some other solo female travelers who were also staying at Rasa, and it was perfect to celebrate International Womens' Day with some wonderful new friends :)

Beaches were beautiful, yoga was tailored to each person's ability (we learned to do headstands safely in 4 days!!), massages were so relaxing, and we ate like royalty with a variety of delicious ethnic foods! I've had a great time at Rasa, and big thanks to Pawan and his Team. It was my first time to India, and I was single traveler, so i was worried how to get around, not to be poisoned, how to stay safe. But none of these were my worried when i got to your retreat.

I wanted to see a little bit, but also have relaxed time; so Pawan has few tours planned, i really liked all of them(cabo de rama, spice farm, temple hike, and river boat), every day was so perfectly planned - on time, food was always planned for all tours.

I really liked as well that we could be driven to market, spas, beaches or elsewhere, no need to worry about booking taxi, and getting lost; staff was always accompanying us.

And finally food was very delicious (hello Burmese cook, you are great!!), and i learnt how to cook indian dishes.

I met 6 great people at this retreat as well, missing these lovely evenings with citronella oil, glass of red, and long chats. Thanks!

The Rasa Retreat is nestled in a small village a few minutes from Varca beach. It was a true gift to experience the world class hospitality of Pawan and his amazing team. The food was outstanding, with dishes served from a variety of cultures. The accommodations are cozy, yet simple offering all the amenities you need to feel at home. You have a choice how you want to spend your time. Whether it's participating in the planned daily excursions (the trip to a local spice farm and the river boat cruise were my favorite), or just having daily massages and down time for yourself. Yoga on the beach or poolside is offered twice a day along with cooking classes and 6 p.m. happy-hour. The real gift I received from staying at Rasa was the opportunity to focus on myself and have time for real self-reflection. I was able to recognize how much I value my own beliefs and appreciate where my life has taken me. I was reassured of this after getting to spend time with some of the other amazing guests, who are all finding their way in life, just as I am. If you get a chance to visit this amazing refuge then you should!

It is a quiet place to relax, meet and be with great people and to have amazing food. We stayed there for 5 nights. Breakfast was included - everyday lovely prepared table with flowers and different dishes to choose (always a local breakfast dish included). Pawan and his team are the most lovely people - just to have a talk, to organize individual journeys, massages and indoor cooking classes. They do everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The beach is 10 to 15 minutes walk. The rooms are big, alternatively with terrace and beautiful, common area for meals and just to relax. Thank Rasa team so much for that amazing time!!! Always from the heart.

I found this while I was looking for an easy place for a traveler in India; somewhere to relax, enjoy the ocean, perhaps some yoga, spa treatments, massages and great food and feeling safe at the same time. This place seemed to suit all my needs. My time in Delhi was a bit challenging, and I had high hopes for my stay in Goa and Rasa. My host Pawan picked me up from the airport and we had a great chat during the drive to Rasa, and I was anxious about seeing where I was going to stay for 12 days to come. As soon as I got to Rasa and my lovely room (room is called Priya, which means love), I fell in love with the place. I totally relaxed and felt like home. Pawan is the leader of his team of great guys, who do their best for the guests every day. He has a great eye for details, décor and service level that all the time goes over all your expectations. His dedication for his guests is unlike I have ever seen before. Not even in luxury hotels in Dubai. And Rasa has only four rooms to rent. My room was cozy, clean, free of noise and I woke up to the gentle rays of the morning sun caressing the room. The walks to the beach at sunset, Yoga in groups as well as my private sessions with yoga teacher, in-house massages, driver services, every meal I had at Rasa, laundry services, excursions; all were of outstanding quality. I stayed at Rasa for 12 relaxing days total, and I could not have been happier during those days. I felt safe, taken care of, pampered, relaxed and so happy. At the same time staying in a homelike environment where I shared some really interesting conversations with other guests staying there. Sharing dinner table and breakfasts with other guests from different parts of the world, it makes the whole event more interactive than in a faceless hotel and its restaurants. Four rooms total, makes every guest a person instead of just a random visitor. I can only give my highest recommendations to Rasa retreat and its team. Pawan as host is a warmhearted, helpful and caring person, he gives this place the truly great atmosphere it has. Rasa Retreat nourished my soul.

Everything about this experience was great. The villa itself was well maintained and beautiful, the room was clean and tasteful, the bathroom was spacious with widows for fresh air. The most outstanding feature was the hospitality and service provided by Pawan and his staff. It felt like you were visiting a friend or a family member, not a hotel. I was late getting in, so Pawan got me some food from wherever he was having dinner. Since that was taking time, his staff rustled up a healthy vegetable sandwich to keep me going. My eclectic breakfast requirements were perfectly catered to. Pawan lent me his car for short trips in and around the area. I got some yoga, a massage, good food, and relaxation in a beautiful gated colony. This was the time of demonetization, so he took electronic payments from me and paid cash to whomever I took services from. It was a wonderful trip and my thanks to Pawan for making it easy and comfortable.

Pawan (the host) shows an attention to detail which I have never seen outside of a world class resort. From taking the effort to stock my favorite soft drink, to the wonderful menu, the presentation of EVERYTHING from mealtime, to seashells, a flower, water bottle and towel on our yoga mat at the beach. We couldn't have asked for better service. His cozy retreat has a homey feel, and Pawan and his staff are warm and friendly. Need a ride to the market for some shopping? No problem! A massage? Definitely! Yoga on the beach? You bet! A glass of wine or a beer? Just ask. Or just vegetate by the pool or ocean if that's your deal. The beach is amazing. The extra excursions we scheduled were great (we're pretty adventurous). India does have some challenges with roads/litter/public bathrooms, but the area and the people of Goa were beautiful and friendly.

If you are going to Goa, stay here!! We had a great time in Goa due to our awesome host, Pawan and his team. Transfers to/from the airport were a great perk, daily trips to the beach which is about 5 minutes away by car, outstanding food (which they pick menus based on your preferences and dietary needs), various excursions (do all of them!) and yoga classes by the pool or beach. And with the currency issues going on in India, it was so great to have his inclusive package where we could just pay for everything by credit card to him. So, if you're going to Goa, stay at Rasa. You will not regret it. It's the perfect mix of relaxation and activities, plus 5 star hospitality.

As a female travelling alone, all the staff as the Rasa Retreat took excellent care of me. They drove me everywhere I wanted to go including to Sunday Mass and the Francis Xavier Cathedral. I had a staff member participant in yoga with me so that I wasn’t alone. I was escorted by a staff member every time I came off the resort. In fact, I was never alone. The staff are so lovely. Such kind guys. Nothing was too much trouble for them, even rescuing me from a lizard that had sneaked in my en suite when I was just about to take a shower.

And yoga on the beach was breath taking. I would recommend definitely Rasa Retreat for all. And your level of yoga is catered for no matter your fitness or level of expertise. I plan on going back soon. Go on, give it go, you won’t regret it!

I'm not sure there are any words that can really explain the experience I had a Rasa Retreat other than to say if love and nurturing truly heals you than this is the place to find it.

My situation was a bit unique as I had just spent 7rigorous weeks at and Ayurveda treatment center in Kerala. It was amazing but I came out of weeks of treatment and panchkarma exhausted and needing rest and rehab.

I had no idea where I could go in India to find a place where they would cook to my prescribed diet, offer yoga to suit my strength and ability level, have the comforts of a nice hotel and also be three minutes from the beach. Rasa met all my expectations and then some with their incredible willingness to individualize my activities, diet and other needs. Pawan is truly an exceptional human and just meeting him and getting to know him a little was worth everything. He has handcrafted a deluxe experience for the visitor that is just unmatchable anywhere in India. His team is gentle, loving, kind and supportive of all your needs and you never feel like you are uncomfortable asking for something. The Ayurveda clinic around the corner offers al la catre treatments so you can pamper yourself if the in house rasa massages aren't numerous enough for you. The beach is truely lovely. They say most of the beachs in Gioa are overrun by tourist but this is not the case at Rasa. I was there in March and there weren't a ton of Tourist and it was nice because in the evening all the locals come to the beach to play and watch the sunset giving it a village atmosphere.

Because there are Only three or four people at a time you can join in group outings or go off by yourself so it's perfect for solo travelers. I swam laps in the pool, did yoga and spent the afternoon at the beach. Enjoyed wonderful food and company. I'm definitely going back and also want to check out the new Rasa Retreat in Kashmir where you can go trekking and see all the Beauty of the Himalayas.

You can't go wrong putting your confidence in pawan he is now a friend for life. On top of everything he also runs a dog rescue which sterilizes and feeds the beach dogs so that they don't suffer and the beach isn't overrun with dogs. Turely an amazing human I was so fortunate to have found Rasa and to share time at Rasa with him and his team.

This was the best hospitality I have ever had anywhere!!! The host, Pawan, goes over and beyond any suggestions or requests you have for anything, whether it be food, transportation, living, excursions, etc. His house feels extremely comfortable and homey, unlike a generic hotel or hostel. There is a private pool that is shared within the housing complex that is very relaxing to lay out in and the beaches of Goa are only a few minutes drive away. When you meet Pawan and his staff, you immediately feel like you've know him for years, he is so easy to talk to and open about everything. You can tell Pawan is extremely passionate about Rasa and puts his heart into everything he does for his guests. His staff is extremely curteous to your needs/wants and will cook whatever you want and drive you anywhere you wish. I was so impressed. You will not regret staying here. With such an intimate and secluded stay, you truly are able to forget about the daily workday responsibilites/outside world and focus on your mental, spiritual well-being here. It is a perfect escape from reality. I only wish I could've stayed longer.

Pawan and his staff surpassed all expectations I had prior to my stay and are the pinnacle example of Indian hospitality. Not only did they fulfill all of the elements of the retreat that were outlined upon booking, but they also went above and beyond by allowing us to completely customize our daily itinerary (including extra yoga sessions and excursions), cooking us both food we requested and meals they thought we would enjoy, teaching us about local customs and traditions (even organizing a Holi celebration for us to take part in), and making every effort to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. The planned activities spanned a range of relaxing to adventurous--my favorite of which being a hike to a local Hindu temple followed by a yoga session at the top of the mountain. The yoga instructor was knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The accommodations themselves are exactly and described and pictured. The home stay has 5 guest rooms that were very well maintained, clean, and comfortable. Many had private balconies and all had large bathrooms with a generous supply of amenities. The common areas are comfortable and inviting. All in all, Pawan and his team truly made my stay in Goa an unbelievable experience. I'd go back in a heartbeat and have already been recommending to family and friends.

From beginning to end, my 7 day retreat in Goa with Pawan and Team Rasa was an incredible experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. I went with a friend for vacation to relax and see the sights and culture of India, and that's exactly what we got. The itinerary was so thoughtfully planned and the service and hospitality was unmatched. Pawan ensured you enjoyed every minute of your trip and was so helpful in planning any other excursions of interest. From morning yoga on the beach, to trips into town, hiking to temples and sunset swims in the ocean, the trip offered a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. I would go back in a heartbeat. The personal attention you receive at Rasa surpasses any experience you would get at a large resort and allows you to more so submerse yourself in the culture of India. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting a blissful experience abroad, the beauty of India is something you certainly don't want to miss. All of my applause and appreciation to Pawan and Team Rasa for creating such a beautiful experience.

I stayed at Rasa for a few days in February and couldn't have enjoyed it more. Pawan and his staff were welcoming, warm, and hospitable from the first moment I arrived at the airport. They treated my friend and me like family, going out of their way to make sure I was well-fed, safe, comfortable, and entertained. The property was well-managed and comfortable, with large rooms and bathrooms and the most comfortable beds. The beach is a short bike ride or walk away and we loved it. Pawan even provided us with kayaks and bikes to fully explore the area. The food was also incredible as they fed us meals from all parts of India. Each meal was fresh and not at all heavy or oily like restaurant food. Over all, I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone!

So I needed a vacation and booked a week stay at Rasa Retreat. I didn't even have a chance to look at the website but the reviews looked good and off I went. And I must say it was absolutely amazing!! Pawan went out of his way to show me temples and to organize a hike to a temple that was absolutely beautiful! Anything I could ever have wanted all I had to do was ask and Pawan and his team were more than happy to accommodate. They even included a pulse reading from the Ayurvedic doctor next door, which was very unexpected because it wasn't included! The food was some of the best I've ever had and you don't have to lift a finger or even request seconds because Arjun is standing by, ready to serve you as you need more! I read the most recent bad review and I must say, it says right on the website that it is a home stay and the pictures show that there are other houses around. It's still very quiet and polite and the neighbors are very friendly. The pool was beautiful and the patio was absolutely not dirty. Sure there is a little street noise and the occasional dog bark but it's nothing excessive and didn't bother me or the other girls staying in the home one bit. I will agree thAt the yoga on the beach was very beautiful and relaxing! I must say that it was a wonderful vacation and I was overly spoiled the entire time!

"I have had the pleasure of staying at Rasa Retreat two times now. Whenever I am visiting India I will add it to my schedule. It is not a hotel. It is a home. And Pawan, the owner, and his staff make you feel like family the instant they collect you at the airport. The value for the price is incredible. We had 3 amazing meals each day catered to your desired tastes, while also being able to try new dishes per their recommendations. We had inclusive massages, yoga, tours, kayaking. And not to be forgotten the lovely happy hour and a little Bollywood dancing too, if you feel like it!

The staff is completely attentive. Want to go shopping? No problem! A little beach picnic? Done! But if you just want quiet time or romantic time, they will leave you alone. The pool is quiet, tucked away on the property. A great place to chill or cool off after a tour. They will even serve you a refreshing drink out there. The rooms are large and luxurious with a fully stocked mini bar, dreamy white bedding, a full ensuite bathroom (including marvelous amenities from Kashmir) and a large private terrace for an after dinner drink or coffee. Plus it is a great way to meet travelers from all over the world. Those who don't like those big hotel chains that don't know customer service. Come as a guest. Leave as family."

Goa is a special place. But Pawan and his team at Rasa make it extra special. We chose Rasa because of its proximity to the beach, about 12 minute walk and a 5 minute scooter ride to a nice cozy patch on the Varca beach. However, for the first time we felt that our stay was less about Goa and its beaches and food but more about our experience at Rasa. It's a nice cozy four-bedroom bungalow in a small but beautiful gated community. Excellent food, great bedrooms and a very special host Pawan. He and his team should rename Rasa to extra mile. Because, he and his team go extra mile, everytime to make sure that you have a fabulous experience. I am sure that this just the beginning of a very long association for us with Pawan and his team.

Our stay at Rasa was beyond our expectation's. Local Indian charm with international service standards.Pawan and his team thought of everything and provided us with the most relaxed stay. Rasa was quiet, clean, safe well stocked and the service was above and beyond expectations. This all without losing the unique local Goan experience. The local beach was 26km of endless white sands, clear warm water and dolphins with very few of the tourist huts and shacks that crowd some other Goan beaches. The car is available at any time to take you to any of the other popular beaches or hot spots, but for anyone looking to stay in a more relaxed environment this is for you. Everything was available, yoga, sightseeing, pool, quality multi cuisine, home cooked food and outstanding Indian hospitality without being overbearing. The food was absolutely top notch. Everything was masterfully executed no matter if it was a morning walk on the beach, yoga, kayaking, or an excursion to an area attraction.
