Course information

As a student, you will be guided to become an ethical leader, encouraging self-inquiry leading to embracing yourself with mindfulness and acceptance, and cultivating a philosophy of oneness. This training provides the tools to teach others confidently whilst maintaining humility and mindfulness. You will be encouraged to tap into your creativity and intuition, enabling you to create and teach classes from your heart.

This teacher training concentrates on Vinyasa and Restorative yoga poses, brought together by a unique blend of Vinyasa flows which are made accessible to all levels and abilities. The yoga taught is drawn from both Swami Sivananda and T. Krishnamacharya lineages. The course is designed to provide a comprehensive foundation for teaching yoga skillfully with humility, compassion, and mindfulness. The course provides an in-depth study of the practices of yoga.

1. Anatomy and physiology

Develop strong foundations for your Vinyasa practice. Learn the language of the body to understand movement. Learn how to break down each asana pose into its various components so that you can activate relevant parts of the body to support different movement patterns and create comprehensive, anatomically aware yoga Vinyasa sequences.

2. Yoga ethics and philosophy

This yoga teacher training course gives you a strong ethical foundation to base your yoga practice and teachings. It encourages you to live by the Yamas and Niyamas as described by Patanjali in his Yoga Sutras and to make this code of conduct the most important part of your practice and life. A yoga teacher without ethics is not practicing yoga.

3. Meditation and self-reflection

Working with your meditation practice you will take time to unpack all parts of yourself including the darker deeper hidden depths of yourself. As you explore you allow yourself to become more whole, welcoming parts of yourself back into union with one another. You become fearless, knowing that you possess the tools that lead to transformation for yourself and others.

A holistic approach

This Vinyasa yoga teacher training offers a holistic approach to yoga which combines the wisdom of traditional yoga teachings with contemporary understandings in areas such as anatomy, emotional wellbeing, and spirituality. This creates the possibility to embark on your self-inquiry which in turn leads to life-changing transformations. The course builds foundations for the full yogic lifestyle.

This course helps you to create your daily yoga practice and gives you the foundations and accreditation required so that you can teach yoga to other people. The course covers different paths of yoga including elements from:

  • Raja yoga - Eight limbs of Patanjali
  • Bhakti yoga - Chanting and devotion
  • Karma yoga - Development of community projects
  • Jnana yoga - Study of the Bhagavad Gita

During this training, you will learn how to:

  • Set up your own daily yoga practice
  • Create your own Vinyasa yoga sequences confidently and safely
  • Teach these sequences to your students
  • Meditate using different techniques and teach these techniques to your students
  • Practice breathing techniques to calm or energize yourself and teach these techniques to your students
  • Understand basic anatomy and physiology of the human body and how to relate that to yoga poses
