"Purana" is derived from Sanskrit, meaning "ancient," in a group of texts containing stories of mythology in ancient times. Later, Purana is associated with Tri Murti, the three balancing force in the universe - creator, protector, and destroyer.
The Puranas emphasized filial piety, embodied in Purana Boutique Resort's feature of harmony in the service.

Instructors
Ibu Ari
Ari is one of the instructors at Purana Boutique Resort. She has been teaching yoga for almost five years. Ibu Ari teaches basic yoga, so it is ok for first-timers to join the session. Surya Namaskara will be taught before continuing to other poses.
Retreat location
Ubud has a known history dating back to the eighth century, when the Javanese Hindu priest Rsi Marhandya came to Bali from Java and meditated at the confluence of the two Wos rivers at Campuan (the area where Purana Boutique Resort is located), just south of the modern day town center.
A shrine was established and later expanded by Dang Hyang Nirartha, the Javanese priest who is regarded as the founder of Bali's religious practices and rituals as they are known today.
At that time, the area was a center of natural medicine and healing, and that is how the name Ubud originated: 'ubad' is ancient Balinese for medicine.

Gajah or elephant, is one of the big animals, and Purana believes elephants to have the inner power to protect the balance. The onsite restaurant has two floors, allowing for 16 guests and serves Balinese cuisine. Its location will give you commanding views over the rice field and coconut trees, and let you watch the brilliant color of the setting sun.
The menu offers you a combination of wonderful Balinese specialties and more familiar Western and local dishes. It also provides finger food to make your time more enjoyable.
